It's been about 6 months since I've last played this game. At that point zombie pathing and encounters were pretty poor. Encounters with other folks was glitchy and erratic. Can I get a quick rundown of the state of the current game and how interactions are with zombies and people? Dan

Is there a way to get a sound alert when someone joins/leaves the server you are on?

Just a suggestion... After being flung off a ladder a number of times to my death and now avoiding ladders whenever possible, I was thinking maybe they should reduce damage from falling until the desync/glitching issues are reduced.

With all due respect, this is not true. Glitched off of ladders multiple times with nothing in hands and of course the times getting flung off of buildings/scaffolding due to desync. Just saying they should consider nerfing the damage from falling until that is dramatically reduced.

Why are people so dead-set on turning this into CoD? I don't get it. If you want to play a zombie/survival-intense game play this. If you want to play a game with a body count play CoD or BF. You cant combine the two effectively IMO. There are so many CoD type games out there and there are so preciously few games like DayZ out there, leave it alone!

I searched for this topic and didn't find anything that addressed this...so here it goes..did not play MOD... I'm a bit confused why I try to communicate through direct chat, both typing and through headset and can never get a response. Is there a certain range that players need to be before they can hear you or see what you type? Maybe it's just that no one has been responding but I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. Which commands should I be using to global type or global talk to players? Any help is appreciated.

So how close do you have to be to someone for them to hear you?

Just hoping someone can confirm for me the only way to add bullets to a magazine is by detaching the clip from the gun, bringing the clip into your inventory, dragging bullets into the clip and then reattaching the clip to the gun. Thanks in advance.

I hate to post stuff like this, but I cannot find a can opener for the life of me. I've found just about everything else but that. I've heard they're hard to spot but any tips at all?

Is there some way to figure out either when the last server reset happened or when the next one is happening? I figure you can probably go on the server website to do it but anything in game?

Can anyone confirm for me at which point a water bottle can no longer be filled with water? I have one that is badly damaged and I can't seem to find an option to fill it with water. Is it beyond worn that is can no longer be filled? Any help would be appreciated.

So I'm fairly new to Day Z and have managed to make it up to the east coast of the map (City of Berezino to be exact). Unfortunately, upon climbing up a ladder I managed to find a glitch and ended up falling a short distance and breaking a leg. I haven't to this point discovered the parts to make a splint and am pretty much screwed if I try to go outside. Are there any players out there nearby to Berezino that wouldn't mind giving me a hand with the repair? PM me and I'll let you know what server I'm on and where I'm located.

You people are amazing. This was my first time using your services and I could not have been more impressed. You guys were polite and super fast getting to me. When I get better at this game and begin stockpiling some medical equipment I will definitely be joining you guys and paying it forward. Thanks again!

Is there a way to give yourself a general idea of where you are on the map? Whether its using some in-game coordinates or some other method. It was nighttime and I must have wandered around woods and open fields for over an hour and barely found more than a few old shacks and rotten fruit, until mercifully I died of starvation. When I press the map button I'm brought to a completely black screen, so there must be some map out there, but I sure haven't located anything. Any tips for a newbie?

I can add as many servers as I want to my favorites but they never show up. Is this an issue with me or game?

Well I have tried using some road signs on occasion but can never seem to locate any of the names on the maps. It doesn't help that in general I have a horrible sense of direction. I'm just amazed by how huge the map is in this game.

It seems like the more people there are in the server I join the more frequently I can find loot. Any correlation here?

Am I injured and unable to walk? I can stand up, but when I try to move forward I drop down into prone position. I have reset all my key assignments so none of those have changed. Has anyone seen this?

Im not sure if this is a bug or if they drastically increased zombie movement speed. But basically I can run as fast as I want and when I turn around the zombies are always right behind me. Any ideas?
