Another big NEAF catch, 2 glitchers down :)
Knock (DayZ) replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
I need to find this spot and learn about it, because I didn't even know it existed. Not to camp there, but just to be aware of any threats that could be there. -
Humans in this game need more calcium in their diet! :o
Knock (DayZ) replied to TheWookieMonster's topic in General Discussion
They're probably going to definitely adjust it. I tried to suicide once by jumping off a building, and I was perfectly fine. Felt like I was Hancock. I thought I read somewhere that they adjusted the height from which you could fall, but it must either not be true or it's just not working right yet. -
So, bought PC, downloaded steam, bought Dayz, uploading now.......
Knock (DayZ) replied to 7omm's topic in New Player Discussion
Wait, so you bought DayZ, Or did you buy Arma 2 and 3? DayZ (DayZ Standalone) has it's own store page and you don't need the other two Arma games to play it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/ That store page calls it DayZ, but it can also be called the DayZ Standalone. The reason it's called DayZ Standalone is because you don't need Arma to play it. You just buy it. "DayZ" was originally a mod for Arma 2. So it used to be that if you wanted to play the DayZ mod, you needed to buy Arma 2. Now there are two separate DayZ's. One is a mod for Arma 2, and another is a standalone game. I would've recommended just getting the standalone game. Tried to explain that as best as I can. You should be more sure about what you're buying before you purchase a product though. Just do some more googling next time :) -
For seperate characters you can alternate between hardcore and regular servers. I play hardcore alone and regular with friends.

AHAHAHAHAAA COMBAT LOGGING SUCH FUNNY XDXDXD I hope that one day the people that claim to kill bandits shooting at new spawns save me one day when I'm in Electro. Because I hardly ever see these saints. Hell, they might've actually been the ones shooting at me before. Got shot in the buttcheek yesterday and had to haul ass away from my pursuers

Can graphics improve the chance to spot people further away?
Knock (DayZ) replied to zipain's topic in General Discussion
What other people have been saying, it depends on the player. Most of the time I'm the one who spots the other person. There were only a few times when I didn't know someone was around me. -
Looking for a cure! (very rewarding dayz play, player interaction, first person view and actual surviving!)

Nice video! I almost had a nice experience with a friendly just yesterday, but I lost him. Idk if he disconnected or what. -

What Is Your Hangout Spot Where Do You Prefer To Spend Your Time
Knock (DayZ) replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Well, when playing with my friends I don't stay in one place. We run around and just... do stuff. But If I'm by myself and I really want to run into other people. I'll be on the coastline. Although I should be more careful when I'm down there. Learned that the hard way. The area I'm near the most when playing with my friends so far is probably Zelenogorsk and Green Mountain. -
"must take shit. where r toilet?" Food is in towns. Just look around enough and you'll find one. Also, don't eat any rotten food or you'll be sorry. Just an extra note: It might be hard to find food for you because the buildings might've already been looted. A sure sign that a building has been looted is if the doors are left open.

Players need to make a sound when combat logging
Knock (DayZ) replied to infiltrator's topic in Suggestions
I know it's made for me to feel tense, and I've felt tense tons of times. It's what I love about the game. I don't mind taking a risk in doing something either, because I've done that plenty of times too. But it doesn't seem like much of a bad idea to have a small sound saying that they logged off. Maybe it could play after their body was gone even. Just to know. -
Players need to make a sound when combat logging
Knock (DayZ) replied to infiltrator's topic in Suggestions
I don't think I should have to feel super tense if all the guy did was log off. I had a situation recently where someone logged off immediately when they saw me. This would suit the guy that logged when I saw him lol. I didn't even have my gun out. -
While I was waiting for my team-mate at Krasnostav, I had the chance to briefly meet 3 survivors.. They no longer exist
Knock (DayZ) replied to ztranger's topic in Gallery
LMFAO. Singing kumbaya. I love it. I would actually like to work to what the other guy was saying though. Rebuilding and whatnot. It would be something new to the whole "survival" theme and I'd be fine with it. But like I said before, I don't mind different playstyles. In fact, If I was trying to rebuild, having someone attack would mix things up and be awesome. I'm not against pvp lol. I wouldn't want every single person on the server trying to be friendly with me. If it ever gets to the point where you can rebuild enough to have a sort of "faction", then I don't think I'd be complete buddy-buddy with everyone. I think I'm basically a Neutral, although I've done some shitty things in DayZ. -
Where the heck is the long range scope?
Knock (DayZ) replied to yorkmorgan's topic in General Discussion
I'm personally wishing I could find a Pristine or worn PU scope... I never find them in good condition anymore now that I actually have a use for them. -
How i take care of babie killers

You can tell right away that he meant bambie killers. It's right in the second line of the post. -

This can be supported by the quote "It's us or it's them." I don't remember where I heard that though. But yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. The fact that people have different playstyles is what makes it interesting to me. Even if someone is effecting me in a negative way. I was killed recently after trying to be friendly, but I know what signs to look for that someone is hostile now. Why is it so frowned upon to kill? I don't ever go "player hunting", but if I run into another group of people I'm probably not going to take my chances saying "Hello! Friendly!". This guy shows signs of being someone who kos? Alright, we're gonna fight then. He seems friendly? Maybe he can be trusted. I think it's best to be prepared for a firefight, but also stay open to the fact that there might be true friendlies. And maybe get some positive interaction out of that. But that's just me. That being said, Ved, if me and you ran into each other in DayZ we would most likely fight given that you say any armed person is kos for you. Even if you had killed me in the fight (not trying to talk shit here lol), I wouldn't just rage. I'd be upset that I died, but that's part of a "survival" game. tldr; I don't mind different playstyles -
I try to use all the guns at least once. I think my favorite atm is an sks though. I also like the magnum. I wish melee weapons had more of an effect on zombies at least, because if they did then my fav would be the machete. It feels less like "I'm gonna kill these zombies with anything I can find" since you basically need a fire axe or splitter axe to do it quickly (using melee).
-
"fuk wit me n i'll knock yo shit out the park. you'll stand a better chance against a sniper in the woods of Balota." That's funny though. You KO them immediately then they decide not to even mess with you anymore.
-
I've thought about this myself. I was thinking that maybe there are too many guns (at least in the mod) and that maybe we should have more of a melee weapon focus. With guns that aren't too extreme, like pistols. Idk though, I'm not an expert. It was just an idea floating around in my head and I have no idea how it would balance out.

I'll just throw my opinion out there I definitely want more zombies. Zombies combined with players I feel would make DayZ much more interesting really. I think that whenever all the elements of the game are combined is when the game will really shine. More zombies roaming around and different variations of zombiesSomething to strive for. Say you got in a gunfight and you and your buddies won, but two are injured. You inject them with saline, but if it's not disinfected, then you might have to find some antibiotics quickly. That's the kind of thing I mean. There are multiple different scenarios of survival I can think of, but I basically think there should be more to strive for. For example: If you got a disease like hypothermia and needed something to treat it. Stuff like that. Other stuffAtm, I'm excited for more progress on zombies though. That's the big one.

Wow. I watched all of that. I like the fact that you stayed alive the whole time too, makes it a little easier to get immersed in the video. The only part I didn't like was that your friends and the other clan members just ran back to their bodies whenever possible. It takes away from the experience and it almost feels no different then when you respawn in a normal FPS after a few seconds. But yeah, kinda felt like you were a main character in TWD since you stayed alive. That was pretty cool.
-
I've been thinking this for awhile. I would think they're focusing more on gameplay and less on character customization atm though. But yeah, I have to admit It would be nice to have more options for customizing my face though.

I've just mercilessly gunned down two men...
Knock (DayZ) replied to Mctoot's topic in General Discussion
I felt bad about killing somebody before too. I kept telling myself that I would try to be friendly, but I just straight up murdered this guy (He was a friendly). Idk why, I guess it's because every other player I ran into up to that moment was trying to kill me and I just reacted. It wasn't kos, but after I handcuffed him and saw he didn't have good loot, instead of helping him out I just axed him. I love that this game can actually make me feel guilty though. I'm enjoying DayZ a lot. A big part of why I felt guilty was because the guy was talking to me afterwards though. I can't tell what I am in this game yet. I would think that I'm neutral, since I had some friendly moments. My biggest mental rule is to give fresh spawns a chance. I only kill them if they attack me for no reason.
