Even if they do, I think it'll be edited in the future to be much better. Especially since people are giving them feedback about it. Although, why not log out around people? Me and my friends find a safe house and log out together. I think it should detect combat in a different way. I checked my phone and got on the DayZ forums. Saw a KoS post. Had to walk around with what looked like a piss stain. Didn't even care bruh.

Friendlies are plentiful in DayZ- At least, for me
Knock (DayZ) replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
I've been one of those guys who has the jump on someone, is armed, and doesn't murder them. I ran into a guy sitting down in a piano house once and I had my fire-axe out. Didn't even hurt him. I just told him to calm down and I wasn't gonna hurt him, then I left. Didn't get a bullet in the back either. I ran into two new players within a few days this week. One was a younger kid and one was probably a guy my age. I gave both of them advice on the game and I helped them out. Had a nice little chat, and we all left unharmed. I honestly can't think of a time where I back-stabbed someone. I've been back-stabbed, but then I kill them though. There certainly isn't a lack of friendlies out there, I agree. I think it's just that you have to be super-careful, because that "friendly" will sometimes try to put a bullet in your head. But that doesn't mean you should be too scared to even try to interact with people. I honestly don't mind different playstyles like KoS, because if they shoot at me, then I'll just shoot back. Simple. Personally, I think the people who KoS are missing out on some good fun in DayZ. Most of my deaths from other players are by... well.... Recently I've only died in big gun fights and that's it. Both of them were at the NW Airfield. EDIT: btw, I think you're lucky to have had that many positive encounters. There are friendlies in this game, but there's no denying that some people will try to kill you in an instant. -
For the fresh spawn, it depends. If it's a new player then I guess that would suck to have an experience where someone leaves you to die. But if they have had DayZ for awhile and they're just a fresh spawn, then I think I would save the morphine for one of my friends. The fresh spawn doesn't have too much to lose. I chose maybe for that. I would help the man who needs to be bandaged, because I can just drop the bandage (or rags if I'm not willing to use a bandage) on the ground and watch him pick it up and use it. I don't think I'll ever take my eye off of people when they're "friendly". If he tries anything, I could fight back. TTSKO guy? Fuck that. That's the time where I raise my awareness level to 100. Scan around and see if he has friends. Keep moving around to throw off snipers a little. Keep him in sight. Even if I engaged in conversation with him, I still would be skeptical. In fact, I might just leave him to die, or finish the job. I just honestly can't see myself helping this guy out. Plus, I would be considering what just happened before hand for him to even need my help.

Sometimes to me it seems rushing may be necessary. You can possibly catch someone off-guard by rushing them. But of course it won't always work out. I died recently from it, but in the process I killed two people and helped my brother live. I sometimes wonder if the people that make videos have run into me before. You got the game recently right?
-
I didn't think it was that great, although I can understand you wanting to show people. I remember that whenever I first started playing, even seeing someone made me a bit scared. I honestly can't even remember the very first time I killed someone... I remember the first friendly person I ran into though.

I thought combat logging was patched? Why is that still happening? Or did this happen awhile ago?
-
My thoughts exactly. Also, I just now thought that it would be cool if wayyy later down the line they added mechanics for hiding.

I Guess This Can Go Here (satellite internet question)
Knock (DayZ) replied to HopeThisWorks's topic in Technology/Programming
Aw man, I can't even imagine playing with that ping. My internet is bad too, so one time when I was trying to tell someone I was friendly, I waited a little bit then I got the "You are dead" screen. Then I heard the shots fired. It lagged pretty hard. I get an average of 100 or a little less on DayZ at this house. Maybe you should wait a little before buying this game. They might edit some stuff with the network, or somebody else might have some better answers for you. -
(oops double post)

Then why were you raising hell about it being in GD in the first place? I can't even tell what you want lol. Either way, you're still lowering your chance of anybody checking out your videos. I don't know what gives you this sense of self-entitlement that says you can have your way with your video being posted in GD when everybody else sharing content has to go to Gallery. (Trying to be nice here) Come on man, I just noticed that you're the guy who posted the thread about knocking two guys out with a bat in one swing (something like that). Why are you gonna piss and moan publicly now? That was a good thread. You can make more for your videos. There are so many people who want a fanbase and feel like quitting, but they never gave up and they reached their goal eventually. You have to know how to present yourself and promote yourself. Otherwise you'll just end up stuck in the same spot. I've seen it happen. (Also, it's pretty contradicting when you call the people that you supposedly want to view your videos a bunch of bastards.)

(Sociology) Rocket: DayZ is Fundamentally Flawed, and I Agree - Here is Why.
Knock (DayZ) replied to kroms001's topic in General Discussion
Not all kids in the younger generation want to just wipe the map of all other players. I'm a teenager and I've done some pretty good things in DayZ, but I've also defended myself when I need to. Although I'm assuming you weren't trying to group people completely, since there are bound to be people who go against the norm... but I just wanted to put it out there that I'm not playing out of pure bloodlust all the time. I have had the urge to kill people in this game and sharpen my skills for when I need it though. So sometimes I do want to fight, but only against other armed people that would probably kill me given the chance. Your question is why do people kill? I think part of it is from the lack of things to do in the game. Once surviving is top notch, I think DayZ will be different. Especially once the building aspect comes into play. -
I'm not in "the start". I've been creating videos for almost 2 years because I love doing it. It completely makes sense that somebody says you're crying btw, because it looks like you're throwing a little tantrum just because not enough people are viewing your videos. The way you're presenting yourself also lessens your chances of people wanting to watch your video, or provide feedback.

Wow, you need to calm down man. I've spent weeks working on a video before, but it was for the love of making a quality product to entertain people. And it was something that I could be proud of. You wanna know who watched the video? One of my closest friends. That's it. Nobody else. And I didn't care at all, because they loved it. And btw, people will notice a video in the gallery. I have a video there. I have at least a 100 views on my video now.

I actually got scared before too lol. I never expected a Zed to scare me in this game. I was in a building and a military zombie glitched through the wall and lunged. I got damaged and started bleeding. Looked around forever for another shirt because I needed rags... turns out i had bandages the whole time.

I was in the town Solnichniy and I spotted another survivor. I crept up behind him with my fire-axe and... said "hello." He practically shit himself (He apparently thought I was a zombie with an axe at first glance). He thought I was going to kill him, but instead I just gave him some food and explained some things about DayZ since he was new. Then we parted ways and I started heading to Nizhnoye. On my way there I came upon a gas station and ran into another survivor. He needed help killing a zombie, so I killed it for him. It caused me to bleed though, so he bandaged me. I told him I was going to Berezino, and he said he would come with me. A little down the road he asked "Is that shotgun loaded?" I paused and looked at him. Then he started to punch me. I axed him to death. I thought it was a pretty dumb move on his part. Someone witnessed me kill the guy punching me. I'll just call him "Green guy". I had to explain to Green Guy that the other person attacked me, and that I'm actually friendly. I went away from Green Guy, only to run into him later when I was looting a factory. We parted ways again, and as soon as I crossed the bridge that was on the way to Berezino I hid in some bushes. Green Guy ran past, so it looked as if he was tailing me. I followed Green Guy to Nizhnoye, and I ended up saving him from zombies. When I was done killing the zombies, he was nowhere in sight. I headed up the hill towards Berezino and started looting a construction site. In the middle of my looting I heard two people talking... “Hey there! I’m new. I need help. My leg is broken. Do you have any morphine?” I couldn’t tell if this guy somehow saw me or what, so I waited where I was. Then I heard what sounded like either an M4 bullet or an FNX going off. I wasn’t sure if this was Green Guy that could’ve been killed, so I had to find out. I assumed he or someone else was murdered and I wanted “vengeance”. I did some sneaking around looking for the killer. I ended up in upper Berezino (area with hospital), and I wasn't’ yielding any results from my search. I went into the lower part of Berezino and I saw a bunch of doors opened. I followed the trail of looted buildings assuming I would find the killer. While running down the street in a hurry because I was growing impatient, I heard someone talking. I ran around into a walled-in area that had a piano house in it. I waited against the concrete wall because I thought the guy would follow me and try to kill me. Then I heard another voice ring out. Man 1 was blaring old-timey music into his mic and Man 2 was laughing. I couldn’t get a view, but I assumed they were in the middle of the street. I ran into a different nearby building and waited there trying to collect my thoughts. Apparently they got split up while looting some more, because suddenly, Man 1 entered and he asked “Hey man, is that you holding the fireaxe?” I just looked at him, I wasn’t sure if I was going to kill him or not. He seemed harmless, but so did the guy who was punching me earlier. After a short pause, Man 1 said “Oh... THERE’S A MURDERER WITH A FIRE-AXE! HELP!!”, and he bolted out the door. I stood in the doorway, watching him. He wasn’t going to fight me, I saw him looking back to see if he was being followed. But then I thought… “He told his friend I’m a murderer already.” I wasn’t gonna wait around for Man 2 to show up, so I immediately chased after Man 1. The only reason I found him was because he was stupid enough to keep the music playing. I ran into the building, and without giving him much time to scream again, axed him to death. (Picture this music playing while someone is being axed to death and you'll have an idea of what it was like) I then ran out of the building and was just going to head to Rify, but then I thought, “His friend could be anywhere by now…” I turned back around and snuck back to the area where Man 1 was dead. I went past there to a nearby piano house where sure enough, Man 2 was located. He had an M4A1 on him. I charged into the building with my axe and right before I was about to swing he said “Dude, Wait!” I murdered him. I took his M4 and magnum then I booked it out of Berezino. I found the killer… and it was me.

I Found The Killer (Lengthy Survivor Diary)
Knock (DayZ) replied to Knock (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
What do you mean "yeah right"? That's exactly what happened. Now that I think about it though, he probably just accidentally left in game chat on. -
Why is der a F****** hide body function!?!?!
Knock (DayZ) replied to Fre4krider's topic in General Discussion
This may be a little off-topic, but isn't there going to be a way to kidnap people or something? Or was it in the mod? Idk, I just heard about that feature somewhere. I don't know much about it. That's what I thought it was. I never even saw the hide body option before. -
>taking post too seriously just, fucking no

I know how to decide already. I've been doing it to my friends for awhile. B) Beat his ass. Tell 'em to suck it up cuz u want the gun. >:( establish ur postition as alpha male >:( world domination >:( kill bitches, get beans :beans: :P

Oh okay. Thank you. And you're right, I didn't play the Arma games.

Sometimes I get a glitch where I can't do a light jog anymore. My guy will stay walking and the only way to move faster is to use Turbo. I tried the "toggle always walk" thing where you have to hit shift twice, but that won't work either. So I have to re-log. There's also another one where the in-game chat icon is still on the screen and won't go away.
-
Don't worry about it man. I enjoyed the video. That other guy seems like he's just nitpicking. I saw him do it twice today now lol. Really though, I like little shorts like this. Short and entertaining. Nowadays I can't even bring myself to watch a LP of a game (I have to be in the mood to watch one at least). I just prefer this kind of format overall though.
-
I gotta say, I was a little irritated with this too. If I have a glitch that can only be fixed by re-logging, then I would re-log onto the same server and I would get a timer. You don't even know bro. I got so pissed off that I pooped myself a little. But, I just whip out Flappy Birds and flap my way to happiness while waiting. (High score is 202 btw. Hope ur jealous.)
-
They're working on fixes for multiple different things. Zombies are a wip. You already know this now, but don't log out in a tower. I don't trust DayZ with anything when it comes to areas I can walk on and whatnot. I once tried to lean on a railing and fell off. Learned my lesson there. Log out somewhere safe and stable. Getting really good gear isn't the only thing to do in the game. You also shouldn't get too attached to it.
