Hey guys! This is a new video I made with my brother and a friend of mine. It's a video of us trying to survive a bad encounter with other people as a fresh-spawn. I normally make shorter videos, but I had to get this entire story into the video because I think it's great. It isn't your usual story of "fresh-spawn revenge" or "bandit murder" (Not saying those stories are bad, just that it's different from them). The entire video is edited from an hour or two of footage, so I did my best to make sure there isn't any moment where nothing is happening. I hope you enjoy!! Wow. That would make me so mad. Living that long, just to die in an unsatisfying way like that. If I were alive that long, I'd want to die in a huge gunfight or something. Not like that.

They shouldn't just log out in an airfield, right. And they should also pay attention. I don't think anybody has ever snuck up on me while I'm at a prison. Most of the time the people you meet at airfields are going to try to kill you. Although I actually ran into two other friendlies at the NWAF once. We ran as a group for a little bit. I can't really judge you as being a dick, because I'm sure most people who have played DayZ have done some shit things in-game. I'm normally friendly to people nowadays, but a month or two ago I force fed a fresh spawn some disinfectant. I didn't even have a reason to. I was just so used to killing for my own safety. I took his weapon so he wasn't a danger, but I still killed him. At that point I decided I need to break the habit of KoS. And I did. -
Killing players makes all the gear they carry go ruined?

(This thread got so off-topic...) It's supposed to be so that if you shoot someone in the head, then the rest of their gear will be intact from what I know. If you shoot them in the chest though, then their items in their hoodie/shirt/jacket/etc. will be damaged. It's supposed to be regional damage. I'm thinking the problem you're having must be a glitch. -
Why do 'heroes' think all fresh spawns are new players?

The RP survivors have nothing to do when they reach a certain point, so eventually they look for something to do. Whether that be PvP or not. You can't assume that every fresh spawn is a bandit. Those people that were trying to help you also shouldn't assume that you're new to the game, but they're just trying to help. I've helped fresh spawns before, but it was at their request. Two of the people I met were literally new to the game. One of them couldn't figure out how to even eat a can of beans (had to tell them about sharp objects and can openers). You learn about different things in DayZ through experience, so some people just try to make sure other people can have a good one before they end up having a terrible one (a terrible one is always bound to happen sooner or later). I think the bad experiences can sometimes shape how someone plays for a bit. I had a few bad ones when I first started, so I wasn't even able to trust anybody for a little bit. -
This is gonna make me sound illiterate... I never found out how to read books. Seriously. I right click and inspect but it doesn't have much there most times I tried.

is it me or does the experimental install run better than the stable?

Yeah I've seen the same thing. The computer that I used to play Experimental isn't that great. It's not terrible but it's not super good. Yet I find that now DayZ runs much smoother. -
I thought of something similar. It would be cool if you could find a long-sleeved shirt and roll up the sleeves or something. But I don't think it should be a focus yet. I'd rather them get out of Alpha and into Beta before they even think of doing something more for the aesthetic look of your character. Like beards and face editors (don't know the official name).

You have a point, because i almost starved to death on experimental until i a great food item (I had it the whole time but I didn't know it would fill my hunger that much ._.). My life was saved and I went on quite the adventure after that. Crazy how one moment you accept the fact you're gonna die, and then the next you can be saved. I can't even believe I ran into friendlies at the nwaf after I almost starved in Devil's Castle. -

This would be cool. Since they're adding more survival gameplay (hunting animals, bows and arrows) I would like to see a little less emphasis on guns. Or at least make them harder to get. It would also be nice if there was a good way to combat people who were lucky enough to get the guns first as well (bows and arrows possibly). Another thing: I think the melee system needs some work. 'course, they're probably aware of that, but It would be nice if I could actually fight zombies and people with most melee weapons found. More of a feeling of desperation and using anything you can find. The different weapons could just work in a different way. Right now it seems like the only difference between melee weapons is how much damage they do, and most weapons other than the fire-axe suck.

I just got done watching a DayZ epoch vid and it has more than the DayZ SA. But, obviously SA will get more stuff to do. Watching the video made me even more excited for how the SA is going to be. I think this sounds like a cool idea.

To each their own! Fresh spawn experiences are good too. I've seen plenty of revenge stories up on youtube by now. In fact, I think one of my most interesting experiences so far has been when I only had an axe as a weapon. But fights I get into fully armed are interesting too. There's plenty of things that can happen in DayZ. I think one of my favorite things to do recently is talk to people in game. The only part I don't like about being fully armed is that there is nothing to do after that... except either stur up some trouble with another group of people, or give all your gear to a fresh spawn and start over. Then again, I could try to save some people when I'm geared up next time.

Nice video! I didn't really mind the flashing, but others seem to. Maybe try a different effect to emphasize the parts of the song that you were emphasizing already with the flashes. -

How is guy number 3 "clearly legit"? Fully decked out guy who says he needs help. No way in hell that could be a trap. Not like I've walked into one of those before... You have a point for guy number 2, but he can still be handled. He probably bled a bit before you got there, and plus, it's most likely only him by himself if he needed bandages that badly. Also, helping him out doesn't mean let your guard down completely.
