Knock (DayZ)

Hey guys! I've been an active member on here for a month or two, but I didn't even see this thread. So I'll just post a response to someone: Don't worry, you might find yourself dying a lot less once you get the hang of things. I died a lot when I first started. Lol, that was very specific. I can relate though! Although I normally do it in my underwear.

You can't really claim that additions to the game won't effect it. In reality, it depends on the person playing. KoS isn't always just "fun" for people. It's a situational thing sometimes, or a number of other things. I would follow them. That would be so much fun. It wouldn't be the like common experience that you can have in DayZ right now.

I witnessed this happening... and I did nothing to save the OP. :'( After the murder, all I saw was Applejaxc going batshit crazy after his "fresh kill". Kinda looked like this... He then proceeded to pick up the green pen, and he wrote "GO HARD OR GO HOME" all over the walls. He used the OP's naked body for a little more decoration... :'(

Yeah, I guess it depends on what you view as good death. You definitely have a point with the whole glitch/cheat thing, because I would absolutely hate dying like that. That's probably the worst for me. I just meant that dying in a battle, or saving someone is a more preferable death for me. When it comes to death by other players, snipers are the ones I don't like. (A weird thing though, I've never been sniped before.)

I'm guessing you're a medic then! :) If I had one to be second place, it would kinda be my character's life. It's like what you said, I want to die a good death. I don't want to be sniped by someone far away without even knowing where they are.

Is that the best vest in the game so far? Haven't played latest update yet. Yeah I can relate to that. I run with a trio of people that I always look out for. I don't want the game to be "ruined" for them if they die, because I know I'm much more comfortable dying than they are.

That was a nice ending. I've met a group of baddies at the NWAF before, but I also formed a group of four strangers at the NWAF. This is why I don't get KoSing 24/7. Nice story :)

You also can't move around at all before you log out. Did you move around? Sorry about your character man, but it happens to everyone. Just play again some other time and have some fun. And like NexVentor said, don't get attached to your gear.

If you log onto a server, and your stuff is gone, you need to immediately log back out. Or else it will save your character the way it is. Then if you log back onto that server, you should be fine. It happened to me before. I lost all my gear like you did.

Hot damn. With all the suggestions coming from the community to the developers, I honestly just can't wait for the game's full potential. Also, I like this idea. Carry on.

I'm careful every time I enter a town or city. We'll be traveling by road and when the city is in sight, we move somewhere out of the sight of anyone there. One time when my friend and I were entering Zelenogorsk (from the south I think), we came to a road where it split into two pathways. One went straight into Zelenogorsk and the other went to some barn on the outskirts. We went to the barn and then traveled slowly to the city from there. While on the other road, we saw somebody running around a fence of the city towards the road we would've been coming from. We gunned him down (this was when we first started and we had the KoS mindset). If we would've entered through the main pathway, he would've had the jump on us. So yeah, I'm always careful around those places. Being careful also saved my life when I was outnumbered 2-1. I almost always spot people first. I goof off more when I'm on the road though. Me and my friends can't help it sometimes lol. EDIT: There are different things to look for when spotting danger: gunshots (obviously) voices in direct chat (just in indicator that someone is nearby) open doors (someone has been looting)That's what I look for. The open doors part saved my life before. Listen to your gut as well

Not all people who try to KoS succeed lol. Idk why you and some other people act like it's impossible to survive an encounter without killing the other guy immediately. I do agree on the fact that PvP is one of the most exciting things right now. Probably the most exciting thing for me. I mainly look for PvP at airfields to raise my skill level.

I can't be mad at this guy. I just can't. Having people that want to shake things up a bit isn't a bad thing to me. Also, it's so easy to even keep bandits out of rescue operations. I've been rescued before (recently actually), and there wasn't a single bandit who knew about it. Now that you posted this thread, I think a lot of people are ready to give you a can of whoop ass instead of a can of beans... Including me :lol: "You talkin shit brah?"

Actually, you can definitely say that. I've communicated so many times with people in a positive way. I had a chance to straight up murder someone who was sitting down and he had a gun. When he saw me he tried to stand up, but I just said "Don't worry. I would've already killed by now if I wanted. I'm friendly." Instead of ruining his experience by killing him, we both walked away unharmed. You just have to be more open. The "It's them or it's us" mindset is probably what everybody has deep down. If he started swinging, I'll definitely kill him. But KoS just isn't any fun at all to me. I kinda feel like some people who KoS are just too scared to even attempt to enjoy the game in a more dangerous and engaging way. You are taking a risk by talking to people, but you'll never know how things could've happened if you just put a bullet in their head.

Those are some pretty cool scenic pictures. I never thought there was a lack of friendlies in DayZ personally. I've run into a lot by now. I think there's plenty of hope :D

If this is true, then I hope the medic that gave me some blood bags with O- is still alive...
