We all have beliefs, some of them religious, some cultural, social or personal? While I am an athiest I see no reason to piss on someone elses path to happiness\peace. That said, its troubling that books are playing out in game, I think I am going to find a copy of moby dick and go play in the water and see what happens.

the recent changes change nothing outside of needing to carry a crapton of bandages. used to be priority was to get a hard hat or helmet of sorts and an axe, now you add bandages to that. Zombies arent hard at all they just make you bleed with each hit now. the only real benefit is that now I dont need to wear a helmet since im going to bleed everytime im hit anyway, may as well wear whatever hat strikes my fancy. 1. I never shot Zeds anyways, always used melee 2. You can still outrun them without issue 3. If you stay on the move there is no real swarm whiel using melee. 4. Its fing irritating to bleed every time your hit, with full tacitical gear on.

I'll toss in my 2 cents. Logged in yesterday to check out the updates after taking a week long break. Met up with a friend in Berinzino. Zeds everywhere, pulled out my handy Axe and started taking them out. Had 6 bandages on me x 4 use each and went through nearly all of them in about 30-45 minutes. My only real beef is the fact that every single hit yesterday i'm bleeding. I also agree with other folks they should fix some of the glitches in addition to making them a threat. but having to bandage after every single kill where I didn't get the drop on them is sorta stupid. I wouldn't mind if i'm pummeled by a group of Zeds bleeding out, but when i'm fully geared one zed who hits me from 5 yards out should not cause me to bleed each time. thats just Dayz bandaging edition a game i'd rather not play.

OMFG, its not a sense of entitlement, its understanding that as an ALPHA game it requires feedback from the people testing it, If everything is chalked up to "But hey its Alpha" in an effort to stop people complaining or reporting issues they have then we as ALPHA testers are not doing our job. In short STOP telling people just to deal with shit because its an ALPHA game, because pointing out issues is exactly what people playing should be doing.

So your just saying you had no expectations of performance because its Alpha, that's fair I guess. Its not a priority but its NOT BECAUSE ITS ALPHA, Its because they need architectural stability before they put any focus on optimizations. Being an ALPHA has literally nothing to do with it. I've played Alpha releases that ran like Swiss clock but had a whole host of other issues. The Alpha Mantra is lame without context.

Stating its alpha and how performance should be is ignorant, I have been involved with many alpha games dating back to the 80s and have developed and launched many alpha Apps in my career. Every alpha has its own set of drawbacks based on what the development/product team prioritizes. Its quit obvious the major focus here is architectural in nature as it shoudl be frankly. Who cares what the FPS is if you cant connect to a sever and play. But nothing is more annoying that people who state ITS ALPHA DUDE to every single pointed out game drawback. If people didn't bitch moan and complain about various issues the product team wouldnt have the feedback required to prioritize effectively, I guarantee since BI's involment with the project the Dev team is not calling the shots, its someone on the product side, Rocket is simply a developer that is a PR face with a fan base. But the product team is prioritizing things and they are doing it based on known needs first, feedback second. So keep complaining and pointing out issues people.

It is affecting everyone, with your specs you should never dip below 60fps, to what degree it affects people is debatable but the fact poor or no optimization impacts everyone is not debatable. I picked up the game a bit ago and am using a converted htpc with a crappy ATI 6570 in a dell SFF with a 235 watt power supply. I get near your FPS out of towns. and I get the same crappy 10-20 fps in towns as people with rigs much much better than mine. Moral of the story is don't go buying top of the line hardware to play this game just yet and if you already have top of the line hardware its going to matter much less than it would in most other games.

Its pretty simple really, often the guys best suited to bring a game or concept to market are not the best guys to systematically develop it. I don't think Dean is the person best suited to run development at this point. I suspect BI came to this conclusion and asked him to leave.

Had fun today up north. was with a group of 11, clearing a town and saw a guy looting buildings. We are friendly (CQF) clan, one of our guy makes contact the other guy was sketched, then the other 10 of us take up positions near the guy and start dropping food and sodas etc. He had to think it was over, then left with more loot than I'm sure he found in the buildings.

Hackers exist if you run solo most of the time the odds of encountering them are rare, they tend to target clans or other groups on servers so they can claim L33tness. One shotting a bambi for a hacker isnt fun. ESP and teleporting to groups and dropping groups is where the thrill is at. Ive personally witnessed it a few times just in the last week.

Clan up, we usually run in groups of 6-10 locking down towns to help Bambis, stop banditry etc. Much easier to do with a coordinated groups of very well armed people on teamspeak.
