What is good about this game?

completely useless thread except for the humor value and the alf picture. i commend you, LaughingJack, for your attempts to impart some sense of reason with regards to the OP. futile though...similar to explaining the theory of relativity to a bag full of wet mice.... i have yet to try the recent stable version, so i cannot speak to those issues, but the "game" has already provided me with over 100 hours (not much i know) of good times, fear, frustration, anxiety, etc. unlike any other game i've played. for me, thats what is good about this game. edit--gomeowmeow--i love the code too...

    Rolling Update Rev - 0.43.116251

why all butthurt? he did ask for it...judging by everyone else's comments, i don't believe this is the correct thread for discussing how the game in its current form is or isnt like the Mod, to whatever degree. anyway, i apologized like two comments later

um...irrelevant dipshit comes to mind...please piss off
  8. i realize you are trying to make a point, which i agree with to some degree, but fabricating statistics is not the best method of making your case. if a mosin found in game is worn/damaged/etc then i would expect it to perform accordingly. likewise with a pristine mosin. mosin rifles from the late 30's through WW2 can still be had, and in pristine condition if you dont mind cleaning off alot of cosmoline.

You can't even trust trees anymore.

totally feel your pain...this has happened once to me, but a tree wasn't the culprit...dropped SKS for axe on sidewalk in Polana to deal with a zed (M4 shouldered) and then spent about as long as you trying to pick the fucker back up...someone was nice enough to distract me with some bullets though. managed to beat feet outta there, steady flow of expletives rolling the whole time...ah the weird wonderful world of Dayz Alpher
  10. i have picked up a couple of gtx570's on ebay for about $125. one with a system similar to yours produced good visuals while giving decent frames. you would of course need a better power supply though. are you gonna build your new machine when its time? if so no harm in picking up a few components in the mean time if you can...
  11. I can verify the same set of circumstances, although for me this happened about 2 weeks ago. i have two stations setup to play Dayz and while running with a buddy one evening he asked me why i had stopped. i turned to look back and was at least 50 meters ahead of him. i then ran back to him while watching his screen and my avatar was stuck, but in the same crouched run position, legs moving until i stopped. i ate/drank/changed weapons etc and my avatar performed all of the actions. i walked over to myself and after passing over the same spot my avatar was able to move as intended. just thought "ah...alpher" and we went on about our business. as a "tester" i probably should've tried to replicate and capture the oddity.
