This is Day Z. This is your story. -
Date/Time: 10 July 8:00 PM / 11 July 11:00 AM (WST) What happened: None of my progress saved, even the server rolled back and my tents and vehicles moved back to my old hideout. What you were doing: You name it. Looting NE Airfield, towns near the NE Airfield, Torturing survivors, moving my tents to a lesser known location, fixed up a vehicle etc. Current Version Installed: 1.7.2 Server you were on: ANZ #5 Timeline of events before error: Listed in "What you were doing?" Timeline of events after error: I logged in, my tents were gone. I had this happen yesterday, so I assumed they were back in my very old hideout. I went to it and sure enough they were there. I picked up my equipment and moved it all to my new location then decided to switch my gear to a new server as I thought it was just that server. Placed my gear on the new server and then went offline for a bit. Came back on and my tents were completely empty. I had logged out for 2 mins in the middle of nowhere, it's extremely unlikely that somebody looted it.

Experimental 1.7.2.1 test patch

Server seemed to load me in instantly. Didn't lose my gear, spawned where I logged out on 1.7.2. I played for about an hour. I didn't notice a huge difference, except in the "Smoothness" department. I was on 500ms the entire time and it just felt natural somehow. I went around NE Airfield, shot a few zombies. Couldn't help but notice a lot of them idling though, not sure if this has been noted before. I would like to try it out again, but the thing is since there is no changelog, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking out for. If this is truely all that has been changed, then my only response would have to be "Yep, s'alright." -
Server this happened on: Titled. Time that it happened: 9:20PM WST What happened during the incident: Just died in Cherno, respawned and spawned reasonably close. I decided to go back to see what I could get off of my freshly shot corpse and saw smoke coming from somewhere. I went to investigate, there was a gigantic mound of dirt with a dead woman in the middle. Mildly freaked, I went west to cherno and discovered about 6 A-10's along the way. I don't think they used them to actually kill anybody...except for the woman I found, but she had only just respawned.

Well what do you know, I was actually right and I'm not insane. I heard the helicopters. I wasn't killed by the hacker but the guy that killed me was suspicious as fuck. Just had a bunch of zombies on him with a rare gun and not a single fuck was given when he crouch ran upto me and spammed me to death. -

I was walking through the forest North East heading towards the airfield, nobody was in sight and/or even anywhere nearby...hell, why would you be. Several of the people on the server dropped dead at random, one of them was me and a friend. Unfortunately I have no evidence as we didn't happen to be recording and the BETA doesn't let you take screenshots as it just takes a screenshot of your desktop. Time this happened: Saturday, 30 June 2012 at 3:40 PM WST Also is it possible for all characters that were killed during the incident to be rolled back? -

Server this happened on: Titled. Time: 3:32PM WST What happened during the incident: Running through a small town my friend and I saw somebody. We took cover. I reloaded my weapon and we decided to run. We sprinted to a house, while we were running we could hear something extremely loud, it sounded like a helicopter. My friends could all hear it as well, we ran and hid in the building. Killed the onslaught of zombies and waiting. A man entered the building with 5 zombies hitting him as he did not react, he had a large military rifle which is DEFINITELY not in the game. I shot at him, 2 bullets hit his head and one in his chest. I soon got shot and so did one of my other friends. Even as I write this I ponder the purpose, as I know nothing will be resolved. Edit: Further investigation into this issue has caused me to believe it was not actually a hacker, several items from the person were switched out with that on my corpse and they were not hacked in items, including the MK 48 which I had mistaken for a rifle. Close thread. Edit 2.0: Turns out the guy was a hacker, other people have witnessed the events at the exact same time on the same server. See: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=26092

Simple suggestion that could be of great use. With the new stealth system in place and the fact that they can actually lose you now is great, but what about when you want to leave a town or something? The towns are the only way to lose zombies that are running at you full speed, unfortunately if you just leave a town and happen to pick up a zombie, you'll have to run right back into the town to lose them, in which you might aggro more zombies to lose. I think if Rocket were to introduce a system where the zombies start crawling after 1km of running, it'd make it a lot easier to lose these inconvenient zombies. At the moment we have zombies that will chase the newly spawned characters indefinitely due to having to run back into towns to lose them, you can't actually get away. If you have these zombies chase you out of town, the only real option is to shoot them, making a noise and possibly attracting more zombies or just general unneeded attention from bandits. TL;DR: Zombies legs should deteriorate after a certain period of time, forcing them to crawl. What are your thoughts of the idea, how it could be improved or if it should be implemented at all? The only problem I can see with this is the zombies walk in towns and such, they'd have to make it so that the patrolling they do doesn't count towards the chasing distance, otherwise towns would just be filled with crippled zombies.

I saw 3 people standing next to a large vehicle in the middle of a forest. It looked like they were making some simple repairs. I heard over direct chat "Finished in just a sec, found a tire in that town." "Awesome!" they all shouted and then awaited him to attach the wheel. He took his time putting the wheel on, I suppose them being in the middle of nowhere had made them feel safe. I sat in the bushes waiting. The man repairing stood up and said "All aboard boys!" That's when I shot. I took two of them out and broke ones legs. He was new, didn't have any items on him. Screaming in chat about what was going on I went up to his friends that hadn't quite took the hint that I wanted them to die. I put the last bullet in their heads and looked at their friend shouting simple questions like "How do I pick up your gun?" and "I fucking see him, how do I kill him?" I laughed over the mic and put a bullet in his head. I hopped in the car, it was fully equipped and entirely repaired. I didn't even have to think as to what I did next. I drove the vehicle into a tree, got out and popped the tires with a pistol. I grabbed all of the loot in the vehicle. It mainly consisted of meat and other items such as STA-NAG Mags and bandages. Taking whatever I could carry, I walked approximately 500m from the car and started unloading into it with my DMR. The car was completely trashed. I went offline for five mins to have my daily meal of children's blood and came back, I lay there waiting in the grass for the poor survivors to come back and see what I had done to their precious. When they arrived they stared at the car and shouted over the mic "What type of fucking cunt would do such a thing?" "That's the last 3 hours of our lives wasted. At least he didn't loot our bodies." That's when I threw the grenade... I'm accepting nominations for the most evil man in the world, I hope you all vote for me. And remember kids, heroine not only looks nice - it's good for you! -
God damn I love the music in this game, but every time I turn it on I can never hear gunshots far away and it just generally is a nuisance. Even when quiet it's distracting. What are your thoughts? What music do you play with? Do you have the in-game music on when playing?

Yeah, this. It would encourage this sort of behavior for starters. Also how would you manage this sort of safe zone area? Everything in the game is player driven at the moment, if you were to have a "Survivor Hangout" you'd need survivors to manage it. Basically taking over small towns is what you want added and I think they've already got that planned for an update much further in the future.

The people that disagree with this are fools. It's a flaw and needs to be fixed. I'm not even a bandit and I think that this happening is just retarded on so many levels. So basically you want to remove a play-style that you don't endorse? What about other people that prefer to play like that? You need bandits in this game' date=' that's a part of it. PVP is a core part of Day Z and trying to get rid of bandits by making their play-style bugged is just a horrible idea in general. You need to be hit in the forehead with a hammer. -

I appear to be having this issue aswell, quite unfortunate. Profile Name: snort ID: 16079366 I've been playing this non-stop for the passed month and it's my DayZ fix needs to be restored. It'd be much appreciated if this gets fixed. -
