Nether is no Rival to DayZ..If im not mistaken the game is developed by some of the devs that worked on WarZ..The game looks and feels like WarZ.. Yes Vanilla DayZ haven't changed a lot past the 1yers and 9months but there are also different ''DayZ mod'' when i got bored of Vanilla i tried to play some Epoch and still playing it, played a bit of Origins....Standalone has a lot of new stuff comfirmed...Its not gonna be like to mod, so far it looks more like a ''Long run game'' because nothing is so simple as it is now.

I solved mine issues by uninstalling Antivirus software, you should go ahead and try that.

Actually. Uninstalling my Antivirus helped me completely..None of listed above helped me. I'm using ESET Smart Security and after uninstalling that game runs just great.

Hey, i'm trying to get back into playing DayZ and i got hit by a huge problem...Whenever i play im getting these lagspikes..The game isn't running smoothly or ''slow'' but it's getting lags usually for like half a second sometimes it's every 10seconds but usually it's like 1-5..Game is unplayable, can't aim properly nothing.. It was running perfectly fine just like 3 months ago and well funny fact with just my 3gb of ram.. AMD Phenom II x4 955BE 3.2Ghz Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 Flex Edition DDR3 8GB RAM.. Any ideas i tried pretty much everything..Btw my PC if fresh reinstalled so it's virus free HDD is like empty and all that. I used to play Vanila DayZ on 35+FPS when i had my old pc..Now it's jumping between 7-22. Thanks in advance.

Oh i think you're probably right..I tried to play on some server that had like 2000kb mission download at the beggining and i was terribly laggin..Whenever i stood still the lagging problem seemed to be gone but when i started moving it came back.. I clicked on that IP you got in your signature and connected to the UK172 server there. And it's running perfectly fine. Is there actually any idea how to get rid of the lag no matter how big the download when connecting to the server is?

Not sure what exactly you mean...If you're in third person mode you can only aim down your sights like if you were in 1st person. You can do that buy one clicking your right mouse button..When you're aiming you can also ''zoom in'' a little by pressing and holding right mouse button again... You can only zoom in your camera when you're in 3rd person (rightclick and hold).. I highly recommend you to run thru some of the ArmA2/OA tutorial basics, you'll probably learn a lot about controls in there.
