I keep finding these new bits. Here are a couple pictures of the new 'farming hoe' in the experimental build I didn't pick it up as I already have the katana of chernarus (fireaxe) so I don't know how well it works against the zeds.

Wow...total bummer. My only complaint is that the sound is awfully low. Otherwise, short and swe...well, I guess considering what happened...unfortunate. Cheers!

I think it's safe to say that no matter how much anyone complains or tries to fight KoS, it'll never change. We don't have to worry about that. As far as heli's go...I'm in favor of very few civilian models. Also, I've read a few suggestions to use the 'Take On Helicopters' mechanics for Day Z. I'd be in favor of that as well. Wanting less military grade sniper rifles...Yeah I agree with that. Having people running around with thermal scoped .50 caliber sniper rifles just seems silly. Granted the setting might suggest that there are such weapons...I think hunting rifles and shotguns would be much more prevalent in a country like Chernarus. Personally I'd rather see more survivalist type gear than a bunch of commandos with high end pristine military gear. That's just me though.

The bait and switch routine. I've done something similar during solo play. I'll find some basic gear and a pistol. I keep the pistol concealed and run up and down the coast waiting for someone to try and hold me up. When that happens I pull out my pistol and try to take out the would be bandit. I've been successful a few times...I've also gone down in a hail of bullets other times. It's a pretty fun way to play if I only have a little bit of time.

Oh, like naming the streets within a city? Like Main Street, or Broadway...that sorta thing? That could actually be pretty useful in coordinating with a team. "I'm on the south east corner of central and broadway, help!" Maybe name the highways as well. I think that's what you're talking about, right? If so, I can dig that idea. [EDIT: whoops, I thought khad was the op...man, I'm all sorts of confused now.] [EDIT 2: Either way, the street signs idea is pretty good. Someone should suggest that]

Just saying. For all I know that guy just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. From what I can see in the video, he might not have been the other guys friend at all. You even question it yourself. If I take your word for it that he was the bad guys friend, then it's admirable that you didn't shoot him outright. Though it got you knocked unconscious. Also, the typing leaves you completely vulnerable. As you know.

To be fair, I would've been pissed too if someone was holding me at gunpoint making me drop my gear.

There is no right or wrong in Day Z. Do what you like. The only thing you can't do is cheat or take advantage of exploits. Just know that there are people like myself who patrol the coast looking for people that harass the new spawns. Should I catch you...you'll be dead before you hit the ground. Have fun!

Wow! That looks badass! Nice work man. I've been looking for a decent artist to illustrate some short stories I've got written. Let me know if you'd be interested in making a few more of these.

I've found a few recently on the experimental build. One in the TEC building, one in the school/office, and another in the new 'clinic' buildings. This one was 'damaged' I believe. Menu shot. Rugged looking. I think they will become a bit more common in the next stable build. The only thing I don't like is the white shirt underneath. I wish I could switch the white undershirt out for the 'Freddy' striped shirt. [EDIT: To clarify, these photos were taken awhile back, hence the different version number. This was the only one I had found during that version, but I have seen plenty more in the current experimental version.

Running around on Experimental today I found the UN ballistic helmet. Just thought I'd share as I don't see any threads showing it in-game yet. Here it is on my character After taking these pics I promptly dropped it. That baby blue just doesn't mesh well with my 'biker' attire.

Rumors are just that. I wouldn't take anything for certain unless you hear it straight from the team or Dean himself. Personally, I'd be ok with no military helis. Maybe a few...very few civilian choppers. That's just me though.

You have to get close to the body and use your action menu to select 'gear' Though I agree, it ought to show up when you hit 'tab'. It'll probably get fixed in the future, but for now use the action menu. [EDIT: The action menu is accessible by using your scroll wheel on your mouse, and your '[' and ']' keys. I believe

Yeah, I looked it up on youtube and was surprised to see how decent it looked. I was expecting something really watered down and crappy, but it looked like a fair port. Weird that the editor was changed like that though. And neg. I haven't logged into the BI forum in so long I don't even remember my username. -

The nice thing about the entire series is that every game was/is open to modding. There has always been a zombie mod for each game, but obviously none have been as successful as Day Z. Just before Day Z popped onto the scene, myself and many others were playing a zombie mod...can't remember the name, but it used "TAW - Tonic's" zeds. Anyway. Below is a video some guy made a number of years ago showcasing the zombie mods from the OFP days. I recommend turning the sound down or off as the music he uses is rather lame. -

It's been awhile. It would be cool if we could submit short stories or books to be added to the Chernarus library. I'd be totally down to write some stories to add to the lore and/or history of the country.

I'm all for it. It makes ArmA 3 feel...right. I guess that's the word. From what I understand Standalone is a bit of a mix of ArmA 2 and ArmA 3 (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm wondering if it's possible? I have no idea, I am completely ignorant when it comes to developing and all that jazz. Sidenote: I always kinda thought the overall engine was the same within the ArmA series...going all the way back to OFP. I mean, since the beginning people were able to import mods, maps, and buildings and such to each new iteration in the series. Then again, like I said, I'm totally ignorant about these things.
