The DayZ huey is in the editor btw. Under 'Civilian' I think...or maybe...I can't remember exactly, but it's there in it's own sub group by itself.

This is an ArmA issue, not a DayZ issue btw. A trick I like to use (if able) is rolling into buildings such as the grocery store, or the red building with one room. Also, if I notice the animation start where my character starts to get up I let off the keyboard fast. Then get low again.

... When you spawn it'll say what town you're near. Tell him to tell you where he is, then find him and drag him along. Quick Tips: 1. In the morning the sun will be in the East, and vice-versa for evening. If clouds obscure the sun, try to find your shadow. 2. At night you can find the North star by first finding the big dipper, then using the two stars that make up the opposite end to point you to the North star. North star guide. 3. Generally we spawn along the South coast, so have him run away from the ocean and follow a road till he hits a sign. All the signs are in Russian, but the vowels are pretty much the same. So you can roughly make out what town it is if he spells it out for you. 4. Use teamspeak. 5. Have a way to signal eachother such as a head bob (q and e). 6. Find a compass. 7. Find a map. 8. Find a box of navigation skills to give him. :)

The camo skin comes from BAF expansion.

If I read the changelog correctly, the skins can't be taken off a dead player unless the player has an extra 'clothes' in their inventory.

Backpack issue is right. Reg arma units aren't able to use or equip backpacks properly (afaik). Arrowhead and beyond can use backpacks without the extra hassle. Not 100%, but fairly certain.

Camo Uniform

Tents can spawn in most 'general' buildings. I can't remember the percentages, but I think there is a loot table somewhere on the forums...or someone will link it. Not that it's necessary. Just 'general' city buildings.

yes...run East. In the morning towards the sun, in the evening away. You're still on the map, just on the edge. You could also respawn.

I found that one in the grocery store. Though I think they are part of the 'standard' loot spawns. Someone else said they had found a skin in the church as well. [EDIT: Added a couple new pics]

Getting 'off the beaches' can be a bit of a challenge in DayZ, especially if you start near Cherno or Elektro. This is a video showing how I go about surviving the first twenty minutes of life in Elektro, a city as close to the wild west as Cherno. Includes a few helpful hints, and tips, and quite a bit of unnecessarily crude language. This guide may or may not get you killed...in fact, I was quite lucky. Haven't found a car yet to try. You can fill out a bug report form to bring it to the devs attention quicker, though I think someone posted about it already. [EDIT: Yea, it's reported. Seems like a legit bug though.]

What's the point of grabbing a silenced M4 and only logging in to feed your character? I've gone through multiple times, gotten multiple DMR's and M4's and Kobra's. Gear happens, you'll always be able to find something else. My best stories come from the interactions and engagements with other players. I don't always survive them, but when I do it's much more gratifying than staring at the loading screen. =P That's me though

I believe it's because it is difficult to prove. They would have to be caught doing it, and even still what's to stop people from claiming someone disco'd during a fight. Not to mention I would hate to get banned outright because my connection went out of whack at the wrong moment. I'm not sure how to go about fixing such a thing, but surely someone has got some bright ideas.
