Not sure if you are aware, but awhile ago we used to have designated skins for bandits and survivors. If you killed too many people (based on humanity) your char would switch to a bandit skin. Over time your humanity level would go back up until you reached the threshold and the skin would go back to survivor. Regardless, I think you're missing the point. DayZ is a sandbox survival game. We are all allowed to do and play as we wish. Some of us take precautions, some of us are assholes, but all of us have the same capabilities. [EDIT: I suppose the main thing to remember is "Don't focus on your gear". Gear happens, we'll find gear every time we play. Relinquish your affection for weapons, and death becomes an opportunity to start fresh. Without worrying about getting killed and losing items.

I don't run a server, but isn't there a server log you can check?

1. Do you find real players often? I didn't run across one real player in a 90 minute session. The server I joined said it had around 40 people. It depends on where you are and server pop. If you're up N, people will be more scattered about. Down near cherno and elektro you'll be wishing you didn't run into so many people ;) 2. Is there a global chat to talk with other people playing? I pressed . and / to type and moved to the direct chat but no one ever responded. Most servers have disabled 'side' and 'global' chat to give a more 'authentic' feel. Direct chat is used when there are other players are within 40m. 3. Speaking of chat, if someone is near me and I use the voice chat, can they hear me? And if so, how close do they need to be? See Above 4. I double clicked a mag of ammo in my inventory and it disappeared, what happened to it? When I checked my handgun, it didn't have any extra ammo. If you double click it while it's in your inventory it would be the same as hitting the 'drop' button. 5. What is the icon above thirst? I can't recall which icon it is, if it's the thermometer, it is there to give a visualization of your current temp and how close you are to infection. Below 32 I believe. 6. I had a zombie chasing me and I stopped to switch weapons and shoot it but it hit me once and an hourglass appeared and I couldn't do anything, I just lost all my blood (I had about 9500 blood) and died. Some of those zeds are mean, motha's. Every once in awhile a zed can knock you unconscious. While unconscious you'll be a sitting duck. A delicious meal for a zed. 7. I know breaking a leg makes you crawl but what does breaking an arm do and how can I tell if I'v broke something? Can I repair the break with a bandage? A broken bone is signified by a broken bone icon. They can only be fixed with morphine. [EDIT: whoops, I knew I shoulda checked the 'two replies' icon. :/

There are six potential spots for loot to spawn, however the chance of all six spawning something varies. Kinda like sometimes a house might be empty, and sometimes it'll be full of supplies. [EDIT: Here is a cool "Loot Cheat Sheet" that tells you pretty much anything you need to know about spawn percentages and such.]

Well to be fair, we're still in early alpha stages of the game. Also, I believe rocket works for Bohemia. Most mods for any game never see a dime. Unless they go retail ala CS and DoD ...or RO...a handful of others as well. Cheers

That's funny as shit! I don't remember my first playthrough, but there was a time when I was wandering around cherno, snaggin' some necessities. I reach the church and notice the door is closed. My buddy and I are talking on TS so I wasn't paying too much attention. I open the door and walk in, turn around to close the door when all of a sudden a shot rings out. I jump in my chair and surprisingly enough my char was still up and moving (kinda like that scene in pulp fiction). I spin around and see another survivor working the bolt on his cz. He ducks around a corner and at this point I'm pissed off and holding an akm. I flip that shit on full auto and unleash hell upon my wouldbe assassin. He drops like a sack of potatoes and is laying there. I tell my pal about it and notice I hadn't yet received the kill confirmation. Now this guy is laying here unconscious making a mess of the church floor. I decide to finish the job and unholster my 1911. Pulling the slide back I thought "maybe I just frightened the poor guy" however, before I finished my thought the more logical part of myself had already pulled the trigger. I pulled a map from his pocket, which was only slightly bloodied, and went about my way. It was a map I was looking for in the first place.

Can't seem to find it. It was most likely lost during the forum switch. I believe that is what was said, but without the proof to back it up...*shrug* I agree that it would be pretty cool to have some custom skins. Inject some personality into our characters. :D

I remember reading a post a long time ago where rocket had said that 'clan' skins were a goal in the future. The far future. I'll try to find a source.

I made a series of videos consisting of a week of gameplay in which my pal and I found camp after camp full of weapons, plus happening across vehicle after vehicle. There was a couple times where we ran out of gas and decided to abandon the vehicle only to go up the hill and find another one. It was a good week :D. Here is part four of said series.

What if your power cuts out, or internet takes a shit? Getting banned for something out of your control would be completely unfair. How would the server tell the difference between someone who alt-F4's and someone with a catastrophic computer failure?
