'gang' makes much more sense! I thought he said 'game' for some reason, but I think you nailed it. He threw a fit during the second fight saying I was glitching through walls, which is probably true. On my screen he came charging through a slab of concrete so when I try to explain to him we were desync-ing he got upset saying shit about fixing my internet. meh

I thought happiness was a warm gun? There is a system similar to this in 'Project Zomboid' that I thought was pretty neat. I'm for trying it out in Day Z. See how it goes and go from there.

I would say so as a 'just in case' option. If for some reason you're lost, get lost, injure yourself...I carry my pack around for all of my 'just in case' scenarios. All my essentials stay on my person...preferrably up top.

I don't think there are any bugs that can actually kill you. Are there? I haven't encountered any myself, however if there are a number of people dying to bugs then this is actually a fairly legit idea. I mean as long as we're still in alpha why not? It wouldn't break immersion or anything...since being dead is probably the ultimate immersion breaker. As long as it doesn't give details like "jimmy shot you with a scoped mosin from 400 meters". Just a quick "You died of ______" I dunno. Thinking aloud.

I'm surprised the second guy didn't just flank you outright. Pretty wild firefight though man. And yeah...I'd suggest cutting out bits that are 'dead air' so to speak. I usually use a crossfade with a caption that explains what happened during the time between the cut.

What kind of zombie system are we talking about here?

In my "Weapon Damage" poll someone mentioned that they were going for the "virus" style zombies. Personally I prefer the standard "undead" type, but hey...a zombie's a zombie. I'm not a fan of different infected types. I mean...if there was a fat guy that became a zombie then that's fine. I don't like the "boomer" or idea of specials ala L4D. I'd say keep it simple. That's just me though. -

I read somewhere that, for some reason, some of the bunnies had some random sounds attached them. Not intentionally, but this is why you may hear opening cans, or a zombie growl out in the middle of nowhere sometimes. I can't say 100% though as I can't find the thread. [edit: damn you zhrike! :P] -
I think that with a game like this it is going to happen. We have the complete freedom to do and act however we choose, which is why people kill on sight or trick and betray others. If I were a girl and a group of geared dudes came up to me I would totally take advantage of their stupidity. I don't condone harassment of any kind, but with the amount of freedom we have...it seems we have to take the bad with the good. Which can be unfortunate at times. Then again, the girls are smart and they know how to take care of business.

True, I meant to specify melee weapons in that first option. Some good discussion going on as well. It's good that we've got some civil point/counterpoint going on. I'd like to hear more from some of the guys who voted 'no' for option two. Also, do you guys think .22 caliber weapons should be an option or no. I'll be devil's advocate and say yes on account of hunting. If we take out a bunny with an sks I doubt there'd be much left to salvage. Then again, it seems the only use a .22 would have would be to hunt small game. On the flip side, if .22s were prevalent along the coast for freshly spawned players it would give them a basic ranged weapon.

It's a bit difficult to spot, but I can see it going into the little farm. Between the crane and tower sorta... Also, these were in mod version as well... Nice and bright like :D

That pic you attached is great. That'd be a good way to set up the default inventory in game. Having everything up front and visible like that. Very nice. Good story also! It would be cool if there was a forum for after action reports or fan fiction. A writing forum. Anyway, good work! -
I know there are some comparison pictures of in-game and the real world counterpart. They did a great job. They always do a great job...it's so good it sickens me. In a good way! :D

I don't think they would bleed out. Though I think a shotgun blast to the legs ought to drop them to the ground indefinitely. Fast crawling zeds...that would be freaky as shit.

Personally, I try to switch it up depending on the situation. That is to say if I have found an extra sight or two. If I do have extra sights I'll keep them in the slots right underneath my rifle to make it quicker to switch one out for the other. Though you didn't mention it, I would prefer the red dot for most engagements.

hm. Could you post a screenshot or write down exactly what errors you have popping up when you try to join? That would help us to isolate the issue. Try to write down anything you can. Although I think when it comes to battle-eye...you'll have to get in contact with them.

True, I didn't think about the military zeds. I'd say an extra hit or to with melee weapons, but as far as firearms goes...I'd say all firearms would be single headshot kills, even for them. Helmets are good for protecting against debris, and potentially deflection, but a direct shot would still go straight through. Personally, I'm not a fan of "special infected" or something along those lines...I guess what I'm saying is I'd prefer a more "realistic" experience. (yes, I'm aware of the absurdity of talking about realism in a zombie game) :P I understand where you're coming from though. You brought up a good point with the military zeds that I had totally forgot about. This is good stuff fellas!

By secrets do you mean easter eggs? or...like hidden loot? or...well what do you mean? You're post is pretty vague. I'm ok with easter eggs, but no to secret stashes. As soon as one person knows about a secret, everyone will be all over it. -
Oh my...I wasn't aware of this. That would certainly change things from a lore standpoint. This goes back to the "virus vs. undead" arguments from around the time 28 Days Later came out. Still though, I'm curious to see how the community views our collective menace. Now I'm wondering if anyone has a preference for virus or undead...and if so, would we like to see a change that allows for the above poll, or if we should leave it alone. In the end it's up to Rocket, but it's good to have these kinds of conversations. imo

Fair enough. After repeated requests to post error messages and screenshots and him not giving us anything to work with...I'm just saying. That ship has sailed. That's me though.
