Heheh... Yeah... Science... Baboon heart science, might I ask? ;)
-
Well, there is an empty space underneath buildings. It may have detected you fell into said space by accident?
-
Also, it would help the devs with funding and bug reports! On a side note... Doctor, where did you get those fashionable surgical gloves?
-
As I am a medic, I have never had this bloodlust. First, do no harm.
-
You, sir, have my beans. I've always wanted a Fallout 3 style voice diary... "Ran some tests today on the effects of the infection and how it spreads... The results were inconclusive. The patient does seem to have a pulse, however... This suggests that the infected are... living... I will try again tomorrow. Feb. 20, 2014"

Why putting heart attacks in game makes no sense
guppy22143 replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
The defibrillator will work, but only if the patient is fibrillating. If the patient's heart has completely stopped, a different treatment is required. I might say epiniphrine, as it increases heart rate. -
Hello! Your friendly neighborhood medic here, ready to assist! The healthy status is challenging to achieve at times. Let me explain. It is ok to be a morbidly obese survivor, I even encourage it! Your character needs a set amount of energy and water to heal. As your stomach and energy are seperate, eat all you can find. Blood and health are also seperate, so having full blood doesn't make you healthy. After you reach the correct level of food and fluids, you will recieve the healing status. This regenerates blood first at 1 to 5 per second, then health at the same rate. After your blood and health are full, you will be healthy! :D For further information, I reccomend asking my colleagues in the RRF teamspeak. http://www.reddit.com/r/redditrescueforce/

You will be happy to know, they released pictures for a UN Peace Keeper ballistic helmet. :D

So, in a teamspeak conversation, me and a friend have thought of an amazing idea! I will put radios throughout the map, in high pop. locations and whatnot. Then me and my friends will hideout within a certain distance of each radio, and broadcast music, announcements and SoS calls! Basicly, we will have a radio-relay, all broadcasting to eachother, and the next broadcasts to another radio. ...I may even have special guests on the radio, if you happen to run up on our server, call in and tell me the password: "Chigglefig"
-
With the newest updates, they have put an anti combat logging system. If you log out, your character will sit down and do nothing for 30 seconds.
-
CPR wouldn't necessarily work for a heat attack if said person if fibrillating, however it can assist with the lack of oxygen as a result of fibrillation.

Yes, leg breaking is a little overpowered at the moment... But it isn't too bad. Decreased mobility can be fixed by a morphine or splint.

DayZ Player Types: What do you bring to the community?
guppy22143 replied to THEBIGYADIG's topic in New Player Discussion
You forgot possibly the people of the DayZ community who give the most, the unspoken heroes of DayZ... The medic! DayZ medics know every bit of medical information, and it is not in their best interest to kill. The medic's contribution has gone so far, there is an entire subreddit devoted to emergency medical situations. (http://www.reddit.com/r/redditrescueforce) The brave medics of the DayZ community will go out of their way to drop everything and assist. Medics do not engage unless engaged, but are lethal and organized. Medics are shot, stabbed, poisoned, deffibed, ffibbed, overdosed, broken legs, and many many other various injuries all in the name of science. Medics try their hardest. Medics never give up. Medics do no harm. -
Impossible to be "Friendly" in this game. Resorted to Banditry.
guppy22143 replied to MyPassword is Chickens20's topic in New Player Discussion
Because you weren't thinking with a maneuver element mentality. Every individual is a maneuver elements, and these elements make up the unit or squad. You are responsible not only for yourself, but for every other maneuver element. Every individual must be vigilante. Every individual must care for the other individual. And that is why things go wrong, you were thinking as individuals instead of a collected unit. -

guppy22143 replied to MyPassword is Chickens20's topic in New Player Discussion
The human kindness of a medic knows no bounds, friend. (i.e, sprinting to the NWAF to kill three bandits and revive your patient). If you think about yourself first and foremost in any situation, you and your squad will die. You must think of you, your squad, and how every individual operates within said squad. If you favor one life over another, the squad will fall apart. -
Your stories on how the games bugs or mechanics screwed you over
guppy22143 replied to thelonewarrior's topic in General Discussion
The feels of that story... That DayZ'd me. -
On behalf of the entire medical community, I direct you to a place of sanctuary and redemption. Here, you may seek the aid of many professional doctors, combat lifesavers, and all-around medics like myself. They will aid you for no cost, given you listen to them. http://www.reddit.com/r/redditrescueforce Also, I shall enlighten you! There are more options than morphine or suicide. In the current build, sticks and rags can be used to make a splint. This will set the bone, allowing for at least limited mobility. Splints are often used in combat situations, to get an injured unit in fighting condition.

The DayZ SA Guide To Medical Treatment
guppy22143 replied to guppy22143's topic in General Discussion
Cant quote, on mobile. Anywho, I said the thread contained collected information from the RRF and talented medics like Merino. in case anyone else would like to fail to read DISCLAIMER most of this work is not my own. It is the collected information from the ENTIRE medic community. -
To have over 5k shock, it would have to be a very traumatic accident. This could include breaking your legs and being shot, but I don't have exact numbers on this. Testing is needed.
-
What likely happened wasn't a hear attack. I am guessing he didn't follow Well Fed William's Rules of Healthy Survival! 1. Eat all of the food you find, when you find it. Save only two cans for patients. 2. Drink as much water as possible whenever you can. Being a DayZ glutton is ok and even encouraged. When you eat food, it is digested into energy. So it doesn't matter when you eat it. So if you have a lot of energy and water, you will regenerate health naturally. Most likely, he A. Didn't feed himself enough, and thus in his hardened DayZ life, started taking damage. His screen began to get blurry as he lost health, and thinking it was a bug disables the option in video. He likely thought he was fine and just needed blood, so tried to attack the zombie. or B. Did not protect his head, and was hit very hard by the zombie directly in the cranium, spiking his shock levels WAAAAAAAY above his blood level, giving him a very severe heart attack. He would be dead in minutes without medical personal on standby.

It's all about being cautious. Being a medic isn't just patching wounds and being friendly. It's a tactical job of vigilance, and it's deadly dangerous with a good chance of death. On my second rescue, me and two other medics formed up a squad. We passed through Electro, and were ambushed. 11 confirmed kills later, we sprint out of electro with brand-spankin' new saline bags as the coastal cuties in the city looted their bodies.

10 medics...? WHAT IS THIS BLASHPHEMY?! My good man, I kindfully direct you to our sanctuary. http://www.reddit.com/r/redditrescueforce
