No, not really. If you shoot that player, his gear is ruined. Thus you have 0 protection from the elements, zombies, and other players. All of his food and ammunition, and possibly even his gun is unusable. If anything, this will lead players to band together is larger groups. It's an incentive to actually help each other to survive.

First of all, it depends on how much you eat. When running, sprinting, walking- They all consume about 70 energy per minute. Thus, depending on you eat, it can last you 20 minutes to several hours! :D Also, it is COUNTER productive to not sprint. Make sense?
