Yeah, but as far as the engine goes; comparing the two is like comparing a ferarri to a helicopter. -

Allow me to address this hole-filled series of butthurt ranting. 1. They have a plan set out for Beta in about a year. This game is only 20% finished, they are still making progress. 2.This isn't the ArmA 2 engine, this is a modified version of "Take On Helicopters'" engine. This is being built FROM THE GROUND UP. Nothing has been "removed or turned off". There are no bugs from ArmA's engine because this simply isn't arma's engine. IT'S ALPHA, NOT AN EXCUSE, A FACT. This game is only 20% done and progress WILL BE SLOW. Do you have any idea how long it takes to program a game? Please, know what you are talking about before making a steaming rant on this forum and cutting down the developers and all the work they've put into this game.- 78 replies

I lost because I was terribly equipped and had a small amount of ammo. My friends were eating. He had 0 skill as far as precision goes, and I could have iced him given the proper tools. Look, my goal in DayZ is to survive. :P -

The only regret I have is that I didn't have the ammo to finish him. And if ya haven't noticed, it's kind of our job to trust random strangers. :P -

I feel your pain. Rollin' out of Elektro with my mates, we loot the fire station. I am the least equipped- nothing but an FNX and one mag. Anyway, we met a guy in there. We talked for a bit, he was full camo though. He seemed chill enough. We decided to go to the NWAF together. So it was me, my three buddies, and this one guy. We chatted the whole way, and we stopped at a pond for a drink and a snack. I go for a little swim, something I like to do for RP's sake. My buddy is eating, the rest are drinking- the norm. Then I hear M4 shots. My friends drop their beans and die before they can react, meanwhile I swim off into the tall weeds. I sneak out after I see him poking around in the woods trying to find me. I then engaged in a 15 minute fire fight with the fucker, hitting him a few times in the shoulder and one in the stomach. He was a terrible shot- he emptied about 3 mags at me. The first time I was hit, he full on sprinted me as I shot him in the shoulder. Out of half a mag, he got me once in the arm. I was going to finish the bastard (he was still bleeding), but my FNX was out. I decide to turn and run, but he pulls a dick move- he empties another half mag to blow my kneecaps out. He stands over me, and the last thing I see is his gas mask. "Don't do it, man." -The famous last words of Guppy -

Easy mate, no worries. 'Twas just a joke. :D -
Have you tried overclocking or getting a better CPU? I've found that 1 efficient CPU can work a lot better than 4 low-quality CPUS. Also, always turn off rendering/anti aliasing options. It's all about how much you really want those fancy graphics over low performance.

Footsteps are faint, but they're there. Just move slowly and listen for them.

I saw the thread go up, he's telling the truth. "Medic shot, need assistance!" "Medics are deceased." Holy hell, people have done this before... but I haven't seen such aggressive attackers until now.

Ha, I remember shooting zeds outside a firestation on my way to a rescue, and I heard one of the Rescue Rangers start hollering at me "IF YOU DON'T CEASE FURE, WE WILL SHOOT." Well I explained myself and we had a chat, turns out there was a second rescue on that server! It's always nice to chat with another clan member instead of being shot at. I've even ran into a TMW guy before, they're all pretty friendly.

I have a few sure-fire rules that have kept me alive for awhile now. 1. The forest is your friend: Stick to the trees and only loot small villages, taking enough to sustain yourself. 2. Keep Low, Move Slow: My little slogan. If you take those extra few minutes to get from point A to point B, keeping low to the ground and moving slowly, you are less likely to blend in. 3. Cover vs. Concealment: While cover may seem to be the best option due to, well, not being shot; your goal is to stay hidden. Keep in the foliage and move from shadow to shadow, stay clear from big cities and roads unless out of necessity. 4. Proper Camo: If you plan on blending in, obtaining the proper clothing to do so is paramount. In Chernarus, earth tones and greens work best. I recommend dark shoes, green pants, a TTsKO jacket, brown gloves, and a boonie. Avoid flashy objects like a press vest, masks or glasses. Choose a dark tone of skin color for your character, that way he blends in better. Objects being slightly damaged also helps, as it breaks up the coloration and makes it look less man-made. 5. Silhouette: Probably the MOST important piece of advice I can give you. A silhouette is your body being visible in open space due to a light source being behind you. The best way to avoid this is to stay IN THE WOODS. NEVER LEAVE THE WOODS. Running across an open field leaves your silhouette highly visible, due to the short plants. You will stick out like a sore thumb whether the sun is hitting you or not. The WORST silhouette is also the least taken into consideration- Standing on a hilltop. If you stand on a hill, the sun will hit you. Anyone looking up at the hill will see you, and thus shoot you. Always stay low on top of hills and get lower down the slope ASAP. 6. Low Sound: While looting, try not to attract zeds. Zeds make sounds and get you seen. Don't eat, drink, open pop cans, rearrange item stacks, or anything else that makes sound. These tips could save your life, I recommend following them.
