guppy22143 replied to Rusty Shackleford Hitman's topic in General Discussion
Well, Mr. Grib- I mean, Shackleford I van guarantee, that by escorting not just me but any medic, you will run into at least a few sticky situations. Keep me in mind, want target practice? How about an ambush firefight? ;D -
Aspiring Bounty Hunter Looking for Target Practice

I miiiight hire you for some escort on rescues. ;) -
Something about your grammar tells me you aren't exactly trained for this...
-
I pop amphibian rounds at the animals I find, so the zombies inside cities get distracted and I can loot. :D
-
...Aaaand then you are either robbed or shot... :3

A showcase of the patch that will hopefully hit stable in hours. // Short bow, animals, fishing, AKM, new areas. // Hardcore!

Isn't really what the description said The P1 can just be chambered with the hammer back, and carried safely instead of armed is all. -

P1 is my favorite ^-^ Waitin' on a P99 ;3 -
Don't let "for advanced users" scare you
-
I wonder if he can tell the future...

I've come to the conclusion that bandits and heroes are non-existent but rather just people making decisions.

Chernarus, not Russia But Yeah! I used to live in Arkansas, and one of my favorite childhood memories was eating sucking on honeysuckle. Maybe a risk to contract worms? Also, I think it could be used as maybe some sort of natural painkiller. Hence the "morale boost", but it works more ineffectively. Thoughts?

so l33t Nah, just stating my opinion. Tons of people that LOVE epoch. His le recruitment will be very supple indeed ^-^
-
lol no this doesn't usually happen to me. This guy walks into a fire station, and me and two new found friends (one of which, we had brutually murdered eachother via bleedout in a firefight on NWAF. We spawned next to eachother and laughed it off ^-^)were in there. He has an M4. My buddy starts cracking up "awww haha geeze, cya man" *pop pop pop* One shot to each of our chests by a damn bambi KoSer
-
lol let me run to my safezone and bloodbag myself after I lock my car and instantly build an entire base Epoch annoys me >:I
-
Oi, le difference between banditry and KoS <non-lethal takedown for food <shooting someone on sight like a prick pfffff, I lost that a long time ago "....and zhat is how I lost my medical license! AAAHAHAHAHAAAA!" If it means anything, I did help out a dude with a broken leg to make up for it Medicinal karma points, redeem me
-
Its creepy because he almost has 666 posts
-
That's the messed up part! I skowered two bloody cities and found a single can of pipsi! And it isn't exactly "Appropriate behavior" for my line of work, and decided to post here in the hopes that the guy I robbed sees this and forgives me.
-
I could have stolen what he had and killed him. :3 Besides, I've began noticing a bit of a... change in my own behavior. You can only take so many bullets before that medkit is yours and yours only
-
Also, you seem to have just come from the EA communities. Yeahno, sorry bud. Us DayZ players don't look for an EASY, watered-down experience. Life is hard, Chernarus is hard. Hell, life in Chernarus was hard before the civil wars and zombie outbreaks. We want it hard, we like it hard.
-
Devblogs, search function, ect. ect. blahblahblah yadda yadda. Look, be patient Aim for the head Play this like a survival game. Picture this Chernarus Population is thick along the coast Hungry, desperate survivors, just like you, everywhere. Where's the first place they go? The CLOSEST place, just like you. To the super markets, police stations, anywhere supplies might be. So, be smart- work smarter, not harder Walk for 15 minutes, live loot up at a less populated area, eat And have a damned good time doing it.

DayZ Mod Project- Colorado Springs Map
guppy22143 replied to guppy22143's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Meh, progress is slow. Right now I'm working on getting a terrain map, I've already got a sat for the textures. The hard part will be figuring implementing the mod into the map- but I am sure I can figure it out. :D -
WELL..That sucked mr compass
guppy22143 replied to darkspecialistE4's topic in New Player Discussion
It really varies on the screwed over to friendly encounter ratio on a server. :D Also, I've been doing less official RRF jobs lately, really just been drifting with some saline and a medkit, finding people to help out. -
WELL..That sucked mr compass
guppy22143 replied to darkspecialistE4's topic in New Player Discussion
lol, I love it when this happens to other people. Once, I was in the woods outside kamy, about to run north to find- you guessed it- a mosin. Low-and-behold, right in the middle of the woods Fully decked out camo mosin. I had to rub my bloody eyes to make sure it was real- best sniping spree ever. -
So. First, I have to ask you. How many times have you seen this? And how many times does that lead to this? Arma, DayZ, DayZ Mod. True examples and teachers of the lost Art of Self Reliance, and the mal-practiced Art of Self Defense. The classic human nature simulator, that more times often than not involves bloodshed- we were born to dominate, so you must perfect this God-given skill that Humanity has been bred with. "But, gupbro, how the hell am I supposed to do that? My 1337 CoD skillz aren't working! I don't understand, why aren't my enemies dropping like flies when I spray half an M4 mag at them?" Let me tell you how, child. Now, sit down, and pay close attention to what I am going to tell you-it could save your life. ---==========LESSON ONE==========--- Choosing your weapon. The first thing a decent DayZ player/combatant needs to know is what weapon is best for HIM- no one else. Don't rely on track records/your friend's recommendations. A .22 Sporter that you know how to use is more effective than an M4 that you don't know how to use. Just try out different weapons, and find your soulgun. -NOTE: Try and be as comfortable as possible with any weapon you pick up. Prefer the weapon you are most comfortable with, use the weapon you have access to. You won't always find that one gun you love- so try your best and never turn down a weapon that you would be able to use. ---==========LESSON TWO==========--- Fit to Win- Master Your Environment and How You Move In It Ever be caught in a gunfight, turn to sprint up a hill to take the high ground- and get stuck walking? We all have. But luckily, there is a way to avoid this. Let me cover a few basic points, to keep your character healthy and mobile. -NOTE: for more information on general health, I highly recommend Merino's pinned in depth guides. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159251-merinos-in-depth-video-guides-feb-11th-updated-to-034115106-new-status-indicators-rebalancing-of-hunger-thirst-stomach-blood-and-health-reg/ 1. Keeping Healthy One of the worst situations you can be in in a firefight is starving. When you starve, you are not only able to regenerate blood- you also lose it. A few basic cardinal rules for blood regeneration are as follows: a. Eat everything you find b. Drink until you are bursting c. Never eat rotten/uncooked/unidentified foods 2. Efficient Movement Part of being a good combatant is knowing how to move, think, and shoot like a soldier. We'll cover this more later, but for now, let's focus on movement. Efficiency is paramount to your success and survival. This being said, here are my rules for efficient travel/movement- in combat and out. a. When travelling long distances, in DayZ's current state, running is the most efficient way to expend water/food. Don't walk, unless you have good reason to. b. When travelling uphill, run at an angle- this makes you jog/sprint instead of walking straight up the side of the hill. c. Know your way around. A compass, a little knowhow, and the ability to read road signs in Chernarussian will greatly increase your survival chances. ---==========LESSON THREE==========--- Shooting basics One mistake I see the common DayZ player make when firing is to spray-n'-pray. This isn't good. It's a waste of ammo, and it makes you panic- and panic is the deadliest element in a firefight. When firing, the optimal condition to hit your targets is in a crouched position. Prone mucks up your FOV with too much grass, and standing makes you sway more- and it makes you a bigger target. Here are my basic steps to firing accurately. This is the building block of being an effective shooter. 1. Stop 2. Crouch 3. Catch your breath 4. Think 5. Fire For more information, watch the new video-tutorial below. :D https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkeQCe7lOGVLM1rCsVXjCLA Of course, this won't guarantee your survival and doesn't make much use of cover/faster situations- but they are just building blocks. We will cover more advanced shooting later. Another method of shooting that I use heavily is burst fire and double tap. Burst fire means firing around 4-6 automatic rounds, stopping, and firing again at your target. This helps fight the recoil, while still putting a lot of rounds down range. The double tap means to aim a well placed shot at your enemy, then quickly fire twice- usually, the second shot is the better one- make it count. ---==========LESSON FOUR==========--- Cover and Concealment KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. A bush won't protect you from a bullet, but it will prevent the enemy from seeing you. A wall won't conceal you, but will stop that pesky M4 kid from spraying half a mag into your chest. Next Camo is very important, if used correctly. No bright colors, and camo for the environment you are in- for Chernarus, I've found a good tan works best. Don't let the anti-camo gear hipsters get to ya- you will survive longer. But camo doesn't matter if your silhouette is exposed. A silhouette is the outline of your body when light/contrasting colors are at your back. Never run through open fields. Never run across hilltops. Stay in the tree line, at around the middle of the hill. The bottom and top are the first places people look. Pay attention to what colors you are contrasted against. Always try and blend in with your background. When it comes to cover, I find it more useful in a quick jam. The bigger the cover, the better. The goal of using cover is to shield yourself from direct fire, while also providing your assailant with as little a target as possible. It is also useful to be in cover where you can quickly and efficiently go to other cover incase you are flanked. When transitting to and from cover, the most basic thing you can do is zig-zag and make it harder for the enemy to hit you. We will cover more advanced move and shoot drills later. Shooting from cover When in a firefight, you do not want to be hit. This is common sense. So, to shoot from cover, use a method I call pop-and-tap. When shooting from cover, you want to make your body as little a target as possible. You should ONLY lean out of cover with Q and E, standing outside of cover and exposing half of your body is a big no-no. The only thing you want to show your enemy is your muzzle- lean out as little as possible, while still being able to get a clear visual and engage your target. When you first lean, crouch. 1. Get behind cover 2. "pop" out from behind cover 3. "tap", double tap two well placed shots at your enemy 4. Move to the other side of cover, change elevation, and repeat. 5. Move cover when the enemy follows your pattern. When firing in combat with a rifle, aim for the center of mass. With a pistol, aim for the center of mass, and let the recoil ride up into the vital organs of the neck and head. ---==========LESSON FIVE==========--- Move-and-Shoot You must move, think, and shoot like a soldier. When moving from cover to cover, use the Basic Drill. It is made to emphasize on concealing your location, while also returning fire and moving efficiently. 1. Contact with enemy 2. Engage target, double tap and dive into nearest cover 3. Lean out of cover, engage any targets in FOV 4. Run and dive into nearest cover, aiming to travel a maximum distance of 10-20 meters 5. Repeat If you have a friend, teamwork is essential. The one with the better suppressant tool- an automatic, high capacity magazine weapon- should cover the movements of his friend with suppressing fire- firing in burst/automatic mode, in the general location of the enemy. This draws agro from your friend to you. PROTIP The M4, while inaccurate and low damage, is a loud, high-capacity magazine, automatic weapon. It scares people, and that's the point- your goal as a support gunner is to suppress and pin the enemy down while your friend moves to flank/fire. It is best used by firing in bursts. Thanks for reading. This will be added onto in the future, quite often- but for now, I included just the life-saving basics to see what feedback I could get. So, please. Comment, tell me what you think- my goal is to help people defend themselves. ADVANCED COMBAT TECHNIQUES So. You've learned the basics. Think you're hot shit? Think again. Throughout your adventures in Chernarus, you will meet bandits, heroes, but most of all, your worst threat Clans. Untrained clans, friendly clans, but worst of all milsim clans. The men who go through ungodly low FPS in fire fights normal people wouldn't fight in with 70+. The men who study, and work hard The ex-military, the active duty, and just the military enthusiasts Arm-chair generals, strategists, and a dangerous element to PvP in DayZ. To be effective and survive in Chernarus, you must learn to fight them. To kill them. ---==========LESSON ONE==========--- Clanning Up As much as you may not like it, a clan/squad can save your life. There is strength in numbers. It isn't mandatory, but the remainder of the lessons in this section will focus primarily on small unit tactics. Try and make a clan with a close circle of friends that you work well with. If this isn't an option, find a friendly one that fits you. Train together, fight together. Build a bond with them- you will need them in the future. ---==========LESSON TWO==========--- -coming soon-
