Sunrise and Sunset at the beach... it is truly a sight to behold. The moon at night, reflecting in the water. The route from Balota towards Kamenka is always very rewarding in the wee hours of the morning, just a beautiful time and area for a morning loot. I seriously consider hopping to a low pop server and just sit at the beach watching the sun go down. Glass of Wine, my favorite easy chair - and of course, DayZ running on HD. Hey, that's it! DayZ in 3D. Shut up and take my money :P

Some sounds on stable are seriously bugged. Yesterday I spent half an hour talking to no one because I heard several can opening / eating sounds, and I also kept hearing footsteps. So I'm like "Hey, Dude, no worries, I ain't killing anyone... Come on in or I can come out... Can you hear me?" - Gosh I do feel like an idiot but better safe than sorry. Turns out that, of course, no one actually was there when I finally got out of the house, Fire Axe held high, palms sweating... Other sounds like that "wire fence" thingy are just there, as well as animals (birds especially) making Zambie Noises, although there's no Zombie around for miles. It can freak me out though. It does. Paranoia with these bugged sounds is even worse.

Sebidee, I absolutely LOVE the idea of a baseball bat spiked with nails. A friend of mine actually has one of them and they look so gnarly and vicious! Completely neglecting the fact that rusty nails also may give you some infection, if you get hit but survive the attack :D

@makomachine, I totally agree. First persistent storage, then bases. And inbetween, add hunting and other assorted happies. That might add blankets and wearable clothes by skinning the poor things. I'm all up for that. And hey, at some point, why not be able to tame animals like goats or bulls or whatever, they might give milk. Yeah, I know, I'm taking three steps into the future when we are still 2 steps behind, but hey, one can dream, right?

Well, everything I read so far is all about weapons and weaponizing stuff... now take into account that this is a survival game, focusing on.. uhm... survival..? Build my own canteens, containers, sew my own burlap sacks, hell, for all I know I want to build a fruit-juicer. If you get a cold and drink Orange Juice you get healthy again. Stuff like that would be fun. Tripwires and Landmines are a nice idea, but landmines ain't gonna happen unkess they actually introduce pooping, and then goodness beware, it's the smell that's gonna kill you on the coast :-P

I think there is a reason for the pliers and hammers and screwdrivers and splitting axes, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. What would be fun is to find some cables to rewire stuff like cars, lamps, lights, alarms etc. I'd love to have a bike with an alarm attached to it, blaring on full blast and drawing like a horde of zombies after it right into your enemies' lair :P Or also to make your own bullets out of iron or something. If you have to think real basics, I;d love to see some McGyvery stuff. Duct Tape, Glue and a bottle of paint: Instant hand grenade B)

GAH! Not again... I was happily playing a brand new HC Character, take a break, come back and tadaa! Magicus Disappearus! Ow poop... so now no exp. servers, and no steam to play at all??? Seriously, does anyone remember what they did all day before DayZ came out? It's all wiped from my memory... although I seem to remember I had a dog once... And on a related note... where is that icky smell coming from...?

So, according to the Devs (or one of them anyway) our beloved experimental servers are still down today. They said something about Hive data, but also that some map changes may be made. Does that mean we can expect even more new towns? Rock formations? I apologize since my knowledge about hives etc. doesn't even reach a basic status: What is it they are doing except for looking at certain data? Are they changing / improving anything? Now that I got used to the stable server again I don't mind much, but I do miss them very much. Even the UK / German servers seem to be down now (at least for me)... Someone please tell me it'll all be okay and hand me a kleenex or two :-/

Coast. You just have to know where / how to hide on the coast, there's tons of houses you can keep as your basic "go to" for supplies, towns with a water fountain are a big plus, and military areas need a quick access route. Then just find a player amount / low-mid pop server and if you really want action, head to any big city or airfield. Which, if you scouted the area, shouldn't be too far away. Is Pavlovo considered still somewhat coastal? And even Balota offers some very nice spots to hide.

Messages like feeling faint or light headed can also be caused by hunger / thirst and loss of blood, duh. Maybe you should read up a little on how the players' internal system works as far as medically / physically triggered events.

Some people just want to watch the world burn... Yay! :thumbsup: Thou art given absolution. Thou shalt eat 5 cans of beans in RL and afterwards find a spot with many people and no restroom ^^

I actually set aside some in-game reading time, where I specifically for that hop on to a low pop server for an hour or so, down a couple of tuna cans and a sip of water. Once I've read enough and wanna go get some action, I just hop on a full server again, always praying hard that I don't get killed because I haven't finished the book yet. The loss of a book would seriously piss me off more than losing my gear, cause the gear is somewhat more easy to re-acquire, while a certain book sometimes doesn't show up for days.

Every time you drive by a watery, grassy area, you want to fill up your canteen / water bottle. You wear a motorbike helmet wherever you are, even indoors.

I actually started planning to be a "librarian" in-game, once bases are in ^^ I really want to read "The Raven", but I have to finish Crusoe first. Yesterday I hung out in game on a low pop server just to get a few more pages of dat book in. Yeah, missing paragraphs and wrong characters are there, but mostly they don't bug me too much. Now all I need is some Stephen King, Charlotte Bronte or "Little Women" in-game, my life would be so complete! Waaahhh! I've been looking all over for that one! I'll trade you this book for tons of food and other amazing stuffs! It took me almost three weeks to find Robinson Crusoe, and that was on my list right after it. I'm too lazy to check the wiki right now, but I'd love me some Edgar Allen Poe like "The red room" or something like that... So yeah, who else gots themselves some books and wants to trade? I'll also take German ones, as I lost the "Nibelungen" with an unfortunate Character Wipe :C

A few days ago I ran around at night, bleeding and starving and I knew I was gonna go unconscious. Then I saw the absolute beautiful crescent moon, and kept running towards it because if I could do anything with this half dead character, it was checking the moon out. And that's what I did, stared at the moon in a full sprint until I mercifully fell unconscious. And I agree, dusk and dawn and the atmospheric ambient golden light on afternoons wows me Every. Single. Time.

Oh well, started playing stable again, at the very least it'll freshen things up for me. Only now do I realize how much I am used to the exp. by now. I don't get wet, Zombie Hits don't do anything to me... But this tells us one thing: The Dev's are working throughout the weekend (If I understand correctly), so my hat's off to them! Cheers

What are you trying to ask here? Do you want this? Are you wondering what the season is currently in DayZ? Four words slopped together like that is an art and achievement itself. Did you want to leave the question open for interpretation or something? But yes, I think I know what you wanted to say, and I wouldn't mind it or regional based weather (cold / winter in mountains, Summer at the beach or whatever.)

Yes, definitely Red Bull, and if you have a few too many of them, you'll drop dead of a heart attack even when just jogging for a few meters and not full on sprinting ^^ Have some Red Bull Beans for that idea :beans: :D

Hey guys, As every morning I wanted to play a while, so I started the game and realized that only 5 Servers were available and the UK Server had a "Key" Icon. I have a list of about 12-15 favorite experimental servers, and none showed up. Then, trying to play the german server, I got my character wiped. Meh, big deal. Playing on the german servers is a real pain, what with horrible rubberbanding, lag, Ping etc. Anyone got an idea why my list (also the "normal" Internet Server List) doesn't show so many servers? Maintenance? Did I miss something? Thanks guys, happy trails!
