Works well so far, I'll get into throw-testing soon. I have to say that the "new" breathing (don't know if that's for female players only) is quite annoying, unnerving and overly dramatic. I zoom in to check what's going on in the street for a few seconds, and my char breathes once or twice like it really was a huge task to zoom in like that. So a little over done, very loud. Other than that I had quietly hoped that maybe some of the audio bugs may have been taken care of, doesn't seem to be the case. Meh. Couple times I rubberbanded but performance is nice. Need to adjust to the "new" mouse settings, but in general very nice :-)

Why would anyone shoot the poor widdle bunnies? They are the cutest things! If I'd catch one, I'd keep it at my base and bring it food and snuggle it! Don't you mess with da BUNNIES! Their revenge will be horrible! Every time you shoot at a bunny, a Demonica cries... but at least the bunny doesn't die... yet...

So let me ask you the same questions then: How and why? :D
-
How can I share the screenshot? It won't let me upload with certain extensions. It's easy when you are a housewife and gaming fanatic B) I will say, that yes, I idle a couple of hours a day altogether, but I start running the game at 6 a.m. and barely stop until it's bedtime around 10 p.m or so.

Pic coming up in a few moments here :-)

So, for the umpteenth time, I respawned in Berezino. Getting tired of my old routine I decided to follow tracks instead of the road. Needless to say I ended up in Balota / Kamenka. Where can I find train tracks near Berezino that actually lead inland and go to all the other places except for the south coast? Dumb question, I know. I did want to find out for myself but don't have much playing time the next few days. So I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where the tracks do not go along down to the coast and where the closest tracks are to follow in Berezino. Trying to keep the game fresh :-) Thanks for your tips!
-
Sweet! Thank you so much :-) I'll be on my way now! I remember at some point there was a huge train station but I have no idea where it was, taht was my motivation to ask. I'm pretty sure I'll find it now! Yay!

I believe, as others here have stated, that many ladies are just not into blood, guts, violence and none storytelling. That's another thing about DayZ I really like, you can make up your own story, even role play a bit if you so wish. I remember playing Wolfenstein, Quake, Doom and finally after all these years I have found the one game I always hoped would be made. A Zombie Survival Game that (at some point) is not about PvP only but way more PvE. It takes a whole different play style when you have to focus on getting sick, being hungry, dying of starvation etc. I do have to say though, that the girly girl in me demands options for wallpapers, carpets, curtains, better bedding and some rugs to make a nice, comfy base. It's not that important though, most likely the blood shed will clash with the furniture anyway...
-
Dang I should try that. Is that an option I can key bind somewhere? "Kick Balls"? :D On the other hand - never bring a knee to a gunfight...
-
Well, I guess I play it because I really like the concept of the game, I love kissing Zombies with my Fire Axe, a gun isn't a must have, and I hope at some point, tactical survival is more important than killing everything that moves. Oh, and then there is of course the typical "Whoa, Duuude! You're a girl???" whenever I run into someone that lets me live long enough to say something ^^ I like to answer that one with "Nope. I'm a fire truck." or something equally confusing. If you can't beat 'em - confuse 'em, right?

I really think it doesn't matter how many hours you got but how you use them. For example: At some point, there may be some use for all the tools like pliers, hammers, stuff that no one picks up. Why not prepare a bit and treasure hunt for items that may come in handy with the next update or the one after that? Try to stalk people without being noticed, run around without pants... just try something new, crazy or plain different. That's what I do. It can be way more fun than just running around killing or being killed ;-) I took a swim to Skalisty Island yesterday, just because I wanted to explore it. Try to find monuments, see if the Green Mountain really is haunted, find some Easter Eggs... There really is a lot of stuff to do, just form it into something that is different and new. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change :-)

I fixed that for you ;-)

I am as of today in my 901st hour of game play. I still don't get bored. When I do I join a full pop server, get killed and start over :-)

Hey Guys, a few Questions about Skalisty Island. I decided today to visit it for the very first time. After I swam over and reached it, my backpack glitched and I thought I had lost it, but it unglitched and was on my back where it belonged after about 20 seconds. So: Is it still true (or was it ever) that you can lose items when swimming? And: Apart from snipers, is it very often visited? What are your reasons to go there? Any fun stories? Is it worth the swim to set up camp there for awhile? How many people have you encountered over there? How many Zeds? (I haven't seen any so far, do they spawn over there at all? Let's hear it :-)

Currently, I enjoy reading "Robinson Crusoe" and feel like it's giving me many tips of survivory ability, but my general question is: Do you read the in-game books? If so: When, why, and which is your favorite? I love hanging out in any house in a thunderstorm and just reading one or two of these books. I think they are a very cool addition to the game, if only to pass the time waiting for something to happen. I think I'll try to find "The further adventures of Robinson Crusoe", cause I know there is a book like that in-game. So, whaddaya think? Books yes, no, ignore?

Thank you, kind Sir :-) I'm trying to find the "haunted Piano House" thread again, that's one I'd love to actually have confirmed b a trustworthy source. You know, mad piano music starting to play and that happy crap. I read that thread and since then have steered clear of those buildings too. Maybe I should just mute my volume when I go in, just in case... I wonder if the devs actually mess with us on purpose (aside from ladder glitches on GMTower)

Seriously, I have been there once. Alone. I had never heard of the curse before, so I'm like "Sweet, cool view up there I bet." As I approached, and I'm not kidding here, the entire atmosphere changed. It was "Devil's Castle" creepy, just worse. But, being new to the game, I chalked it up to my intense paranoia it has always instilled in me. I went up the tower. I took a look around. And then, for some weird f*ing reason, I went into full panic mode. I didn't care about the view anymore, just for some unknown reason I wanted to get the hell away from that thing. At that point, I did know about birds making Zed Noises, and normally, pfff, no biggie, but while I was running like a bunny on steroids, the noises started. The completely irrational fear combined with sweaty, shaking hands and a boiling pit in my stomach made this one visit so memorable that I will never, NOT EVER, go back there again. Not alone, not with one person or with ten. Childish, but true. Same thing goes for the ruins of the hotel in Cherno. It's what I call... The NOPE Zone.

Yeah. And once you have all the widdle ducks, I mean Zeds, in a row, you can run out and have them chase you. Your very own personal, brain-eating entourage. You will be bored no more. If you just use a melee weapon. Unless you die. That would be unfortunate. :P

Try the medics, TMW Teamspeak, they are awesome! They'll come and fix you right up! http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160262-need-medical-assistance-in-dayz-sa-find-your-medic-here/

Did you first play on a regular and then on a hardcore server? You can have one character in each mode, so I'd check that. Same with experimental branch, one char for hardcore, one for regular. Other than that, character wipes are a sometimes occurring, annoying and known issue, it happens and mostly there's nothing you can do about it. Sorry :-/

Well, normally I go into the low loot red or green buildings with the white steps on the side and hunker down there. It only happened once that a Zombie was able to climb the steps. Once you are idle, the zombies go idle as well after a while. Rather than following you up the steps, they walk underneath to your location, while your in the upper level. Try it and see if that's just me or if you have the same results. That strategy so far was 99% fool proof. I can be idle for hours not having to worry about zombies while making lunch or doing a quick cleaning or whatever. Also, on high pop servers, just go somewhere no one else goes Any old hut in Balota will do away from the main street, same with Zeleno, Prigorodki, Berezino... I've been away for hours on end squatting in a small house nobody cares for and no one ever found me.

Getting attached to my gear for the umpteenth time. Me, happy little camper that I am, felt safe enough to go afk for a few minutes to take the dog out. Needless to say I come back to the "You are dead" screen. I then remembered that I was playing on a completely packed server. Had I not forgotten that, I might still have been alive. So, Note to self: If Server full: Find an actual hiding spot, don't just squat behind a bush. Lesson learned, duly noted.

I've spawned there nearly 4 times in a row now (or as close as you can get), and I'm starting to get the hang of it. Now imagine, it's night, You're panicky that someone chases you, and you just ruuuuun... right over the edge where the ship breaks in half and you fall to your death. Happened to me. Twice. I grrrr this! >:( It's so dangerous at night on that thing if you don't know where you have to go.

So what happens when zombies can run up stairs?
Demonica replied to ChimpyGlassman (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Uh... they aren't dead? Fine, let's call them Infected Humans. They want to kill you either way :-P -
Scruffy Bandit, Yeah, I know, it is a two edged sword. It's partly sad, but then again, I believe it will evolve over time. Snipers have to be careful about ruining their victims stuff with their shot, and hopefully at some pint every single gunshot draws a herd of Zed's towards the shooter.
