Same happened to me. That's why I try to ALWAYS carry Disinfectant Spray with me, for a nice, refreshing suicide. Yeah, too bad about having to re-gear but at least I'm free after I die / fall unconscious...

I was going out of a house in the middle of nowhere, not having seen anyone for two hours. All of a sudden there was this other dude just staring at me. I completely freaked and killed him via Fire Axe. I completely ruined what little gear he had and apologized afterwards. Had I not been so freaked out, I'd not have killed him. Sorry, random person. I didn't mean it :-/

Ninjas. Duh. ^^ Nobody sees them. That's why they're Ninjas :-)

People can be butt heads. Once I got held up by bandits and then "let go", only to hear one of them ask their buddies if they should shoot me in the back, me being completely unarmed. So I turned around, turned my mic on and told him if he was gonna shoot me, he goddamn well do it while I was facing him. Then I walked away. They shot me just as I thought they'd given up. Moral of this story: People are a-holes and some don't care if you are armed or not. They'll shoot you just because they can, Loot or no Loot :-/

This sounds like an awesome way to mess with the Green Mountain Tower... What if THAT is the middle of all the locations? *cues Twilight Zone theme*

It would be so nice if the Weapon Cleaning Kit could be used to repair parts as well as the gun itself. I get it, it's a cleaning kit, not a repair kit. But still, Irish has a point. It would maybe better the Performance, or they should make the broken stuff repairable at least. The best you can get with a Reapiring Kit could be "worn" for example, just as it is with the Sewing Kit. On the same note: Why can't a sewing kit mend my canvas pants or raincoat?

Oh, forgot to ask: Where exactly did you find this? Are there more all over the map? Are they rare? I have never seen this before so I am very intrigued...

Hmmm... transmitter of some sort? Can you put it in your inventory / interact with it other than shooting it? Is this on experimental?

Fire is not yet implemented, wait for the next "Big" Update. Sorry :-/

Works well so far, I'll get into throw-testing soon. I have to say that the "new" breathing (don't know if that's for female players only) is quite annoying, unnerving and overly dramatic. I zoom in to check what's going on in the street for a few seconds, and my char breathes once or twice like it really was a huge task to zoom in like that. So a little over done, very loud. Other than that I had quietly hoped that maybe some of the audio bugs may have been taken care of, doesn't seem to be the case. Meh. Couple times I rubberbanded but performance is nice. Need to adjust to the "new" mouse settings, but in general very nice :-)

Why would anyone shoot the poor widdle bunnies? They are the cutest things! If I'd catch one, I'd keep it at my base and bring it food and snuggle it! Don't you mess with da BUNNIES! Their revenge will be horrible! Every time you shoot at a bunny, a Demonica cries... but at least the bunny doesn't die... yet...

So let me ask you the same questions then: How and why? :D

How can I share the screenshot? It won't let me upload with certain extensions. It's easy when you are a housewife and gaming fanatic B) I will say, that yes, I idle a couple of hours a day altogether, but I start running the game at 6 a.m. and barely stop until it's bedtime around 10 p.m or so.

Pic coming up in a few moments here :-)

So, for the umpteenth time, I respawned in Berezino. Getting tired of my old routine I decided to follow tracks instead of the road. Needless to say I ended up in Balota / Kamenka. Where can I find train tracks near Berezino that actually lead inland and go to all the other places except for the south coast? Dumb question, I know. I did want to find out for myself but don't have much playing time the next few days. So I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where the tracks do not go along down to the coast and where the closest tracks are to follow in Berezino. Trying to keep the game fresh :-) Thanks for your tips!

Sweet! Thank you so much :-) I'll be on my way now! I remember at some point there was a huge train station but I have no idea where it was, taht was my motivation to ask. I'm pretty sure I'll find it now! Yay!

I believe, as others here have stated, that many ladies are just not into blood, guts, violence and none storytelling. That's another thing about DayZ I really like, you can make up your own story, even role play a bit if you so wish. I remember playing Wolfenstein, Quake, Doom and finally after all these years I have found the one game I always hoped would be made. A Zombie Survival Game that (at some point) is not about PvP only but way more PvE. It takes a whole different play style when you have to focus on getting sick, being hungry, dying of starvation etc. I do have to say though, that the girly girl in me demands options for wallpapers, carpets, curtains, better bedding and some rugs to make a nice, comfy base. It's not that important though, most likely the blood shed will clash with the furniture anyway...
-
Dang I should try that. Is that an option I can key bind somewhere? "Kick Balls"? :D On the other hand - never bring a knee to a gunfight...
-
Well, I guess I play it because I really like the concept of the game, I love kissing Zombies with my Fire Axe, a gun isn't a must have, and I hope at some point, tactical survival is more important than killing everything that moves. Oh, and then there is of course the typical "Whoa, Duuude! You're a girl???" whenever I run into someone that lets me live long enough to say something ^^ I like to answer that one with "Nope. I'm a fire truck." or something equally confusing. If you can't beat 'em - confuse 'em, right?

I really think it doesn't matter how many hours you got but how you use them. For example: At some point, there may be some use for all the tools like pliers, hammers, stuff that no one picks up. Why not prepare a bit and treasure hunt for items that may come in handy with the next update or the one after that? Try to stalk people without being noticed, run around without pants... just try something new, crazy or plain different. That's what I do. It can be way more fun than just running around killing or being killed ;-) I took a swim to Skalisty Island yesterday, just because I wanted to explore it. Try to find monuments, see if the Green Mountain really is haunted, find some Easter Eggs... There really is a lot of stuff to do, just form it into something that is different and new. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change :-)

I fixed that for you ;-)

I am as of today in my 901st hour of game play. I still don't get bored. When I do I join a full pop server, get killed and start over :-)

Hey Guys, a few Questions about Skalisty Island. I decided today to visit it for the very first time. After I swam over and reached it, my backpack glitched and I thought I had lost it, but it unglitched and was on my back where it belonged after about 20 seconds. So: Is it still true (or was it ever) that you can lose items when swimming? And: Apart from snipers, is it very often visited? What are your reasons to go there? Any fun stories? Is it worth the swim to set up camp there for awhile? How many people have you encountered over there? How many Zeds? (I haven't seen any so far, do they spawn over there at all? Let's hear it :-)

Currently, I enjoy reading "Robinson Crusoe" and feel like it's giving me many tips of survivory ability, but my general question is: Do you read the in-game books? If so: When, why, and which is your favorite? I love hanging out in any house in a thunderstorm and just reading one or two of these books. I think they are a very cool addition to the game, if only to pass the time waiting for something to happen. I think I'll try to find "The further adventures of Robinson Crusoe", cause I know there is a book like that in-game. So, whaddaya think? Books yes, no, ignore?

Thank you, kind Sir :-) I'm trying to find the "haunted Piano House" thread again, that's one I'd love to actually have confirmed b a trustworthy source. You know, mad piano music starting to play and that happy crap. I read that thread and since then have steered clear of those buildings too. Maybe I should just mute my volume when I go in, just in case... I wonder if the devs actually mess with us on purpose (aside from ladder glitches on GMTower)
