    Yes, please do, and let us know. Cause I still have no idea what the half life of what item is and how it supposedly works. Say you have a can of tuna, and that would last a month before degrading - but in the backpack it lasts 6 months. Is that what they are trying to do? In a way that would make sense at least? I can see raw or cooked meat spoil slower in a fridge or even in a protection case (Logic?) But would a pair of shoes last longer outside a protective cover than in a backpack? Does weather come into play? Will they ever give us a "list" of what lasts how long? I'm sorry, I just don't get the entire half life idea. Another thing where realism and practicality run into each other. (Not that I mind much, I just wanna know how it works)

    I was at the beautiful city of "Under Construction" which was hilarious, and headed to the coast from there. I'm just about by Berenzino now. Thanks for clearing that up, I haven't been able to keep track of the newest Patch notes as they are now, so I appreciated that tidbit of news :) :thumbsup:

    Uhm... okay, so I ran around for about 3 hours on Regular... and did not encounter a single Zombie. Not a single one. Why? What is happening? Is it the Zombie Apocalypse? You know, like all the Zombies have died? Seriously, I am confused. I played three different servers (switched once due to no loot and then found everything untouched on the next one), and not once a single zombie. And, for some reason, no buggy zombie sounds either...

    Severograd... Is that named so because it is a severely dangerous city or because arms and legs can get severed there? ^^ Anyway, no time to play today so I guess I'll have to check back here tomorrow and see what you guys say about it. Have fun!

    Uhm, yeah... Could that be the problem? Try inland? Tulga maybe? Elektro and Co may not be the hotspots for warfare anymore, but there's still tons of people trying to loot, so it kinda sounds like a no brainer to me... It's not the most obscure houses, but the most obscure, tiny villages that I go to and where I am 80% of the time rewarded for long hikes. Pavlovo, Tulga, Sometimes even the smaller houses in Kamy.

    Guys, silly question, but I just found my first tent, pitched it, opened it, closed it, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to fold it up to take with me again... is that even an option?

    Well, I finally survived long enough to get some stuff together, steal someone's fireplace kit at the lighthouse, and find a (hopefully) safe spot for some of the stuff I couldn't carry anymore. Zombies still are a pain, but I really just had to get used to them, and most of your tips really did help, so thank you for that. (The pickaxe really did the trick, better than any axe.) Now I am trying to find out why, every time I light a fire, the entire environment gets as dark as night. Is that supposed to relate to "having to adjust your eyes to regular light after staring into the fire" like in real life? Also, in all these hours, I have not found a) a can opener, and b ) a kitchen knife. I don't want to opt for c) hunting knife, cause I simply don't want to risk my life at a military location right now. Oh, hey, has anyone found out if your stuff disappears after you die or not? Again, thanks for your help, you guys are awesome! :thumbsup:

  9. I won't build anything when there are some really neat wooden shacks in the woods. Maybe I'll just hole up in Tulga or near Kamy. I have always liked the coast because of the sundowns :-)

    I have no idea what makes it so hard, but I have a terrible time, especially with crawlers to make it out alive. Every time I finally get a good aim they're lunging at me, I'm side stepping, they hit me anyway, and I have to re-aim while circling them - and then it starts all over. I have for some reason not been able to kill a zed without taking massive damage myself, often dying within one or two minutes as a fresh spawn. I have tried the farming hoe, which was my earlier favorite when I had no axe, didn't work. Same with the sickle, the baseball bat, the crowbar, the pipe wrench, and god have mercy even the freaking fire extinguisher. I am starting to get frustrated. Every time I am passably geared (Wool jacket, Canvas Pants, even with no backpack and about two cans of soda) an encounter with a zombie pretty much has me start over since all my crap gets ruined. I apologize for the rage tears, I shall dry them alone in the corner of shame.

That's the part I don't get - if they at some point want to actually make us server hop (Global loot spawn or whatever it's called), why even a timer? Or a timer longer than 30 seconds to prevent ghosting, that is. Sorry if that's off topic, that question just popped into my mind...

    I was just in the Kamy Police station, and there were 4 Backacks neatly on a table, on the next floor up about 8 cans of food, all neatly stacked on a table... I was like Yeah, Baby! Now, did someone do this or is that just a new way things spawn?

    Melee still is quite hit and miss, so to speak, but I haven't had the LMB bug for a while now, so that's cool. Starting as a fresh spawn, it really upped the ante quite a bit. Has anyone checked if the zeds still go through closed doors?

  18. Hey everybunny, it looks like I have a very weird format error. I don't know if it's because I just update Windows to 8.1 or what the matter is. The error looks like this when I want to start DayZ: Display adapter does not support format D2458 for X8R8G8B8 I'm currently playing experimental, although I doubt that's got anything to do with it. Can anyone help me please? My system specs: Intel core i7, Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M. (If more is needed, let me know.) Could it be as simple as having to update my Graphics Driver? Thank you!

    Wow, I have no idea why this is so strange, because my game updated DayZ just about 15 minutes or so ago, so I was sure it was all done, especially since I could see the servers with the new patch already. Welp, Patience it is then - and thank you for clearing this up :)

    Well, this is kinda strange... my upper right corner version still says 47, but I am able to see the exp. servers with the 48 number on them. All of them have the 48. version...oO

    It's out, update your game. Version 48 shows up on the exp. Servers, although it says 0 players everywhere. I guess we have to have just a bit more patience.
