Let me save you a headache and tell you where to NOT setup camp
Reg Park replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
it's merely a ploy to distract you from their main camps, stop falling for it. -
Just trying to get an idea of how players feel about it.

I will finally share my opinion, so the beginning of my "career" in SA - didn't really care about PVP but I still felt it was an essential part of the game. But after many hours, finally ventured out purposely for combat interaction to improve my skills. After nearly 2000 hours, it's pretty much the only aspect of the game I actually look forward to anymore. It's what gives me that adrenaline rush high that I'm eagerly after, and it's not to say gearing up or exploring isn't fun to me, I still enjoy that part but it's not going to get me high like fighting does, and no other game comes close to that. It's a big part of this post apocalyptic world that should always have its place. For those who want nothing to do with combat, I understand and respect that. I just hope after the rest of the development of the game, there is still room for both parties to enjoy their time.

Difference between standalone and mod?
Reg Park replied to hansanitizer's topic in General Discussion
ive tried it a little bit, and thought it was OK, nothing special... and i dont remember it having much content. it may be decent later on in development, but right now SA is far more entertaining, at least IMO. -
Difference between standalone and mod?
Reg Park replied to hansanitizer's topic in General Discussion
i tried the mod like 3 years ago (the concept of the game appealed to me) but had the worse time getting on with it, the inventory system was really weird to me and the zombies pissed me off. i don't even know if i gave it 10 hours. a year or so later, noticed standalone had came out so i thought id try it....and now im pushing close to 2000 hours on SA so that should say something. -
i would say yes but merely personal opinion, i can't get enough despite the frustrating bugs. ive been consistently playing since the beginning and the only time i had to take a break for a few weeks was on the 0.55 patch because the zombies kept killing me with one hit. thankfully that has been addressed it appears.

not sure i understand, the restrained guy died first.....did his own friend kill him? that didn't make sense. -
he is genius, can't get enough of his videos

looks like you have some 5.45 ammo to spare........

speaking of chainsaws.... just the other day i didnt see anyone around, so started drinking at the water well by the church in electro, and i suddenly see this dude come up to me in the corner of my screen, taking out a chainsaw and brutally murders me before i had the chance to CANCEL ACTION and run! it seemed soon as he touched me with the chainsaw, i went unconscious. i wasn't too happy since i had a working pistol in my clothes and could have put him down. by the time i got back to my body(5-10 mins), he vanished... was so thirsty for revenge.

not being able to find the random dude who i shot in the buttcheek as I eagerly look for his unconscious body, but i suddenly feel like i need to check the nearby bushes better...........
-
really cool man
-
i think hackers are able to find them somehow, and then they get passed around.....but merely speculation.
-
good thing you asked first, and since you did - we give you permission to use it as you wish. seriously though, it doesn't matter.

ive noticed NOTHING is guaranteed in this game, especially combat situations. but there are things you can learn from experience (lots of pvp), that will help increase your odds....you will eventually die though. i have many hours in the game and i still lose fights, not as much as the first 500 hours but when you're greatly outnumbered, it's not always realistic to survive against experienced groups (takes more strategy). patience can help you and hurt you, rushing like rambo can do the same... but knowing when to do each is key. how and when to shoot, etc.... just getting armed and finding players to fight is what is going to get you the experience, learning what works, what doesn't. it does take time... and this game is so clunky with the poor fps and desync, pvp does not always go your way. scout out the area first, seeing players before they see you is nice advantage. obviously the more you do it, the more calm you will become in those situations. watching experienced pvp players on youtube may also give you ideas.

3rd person public, have to trade: m4 + red dot optics + 1x 60rd mag (full) svd rifle without scope or mags want: svd mags and svd ammo 75rd drum mags + sks ammo (hopefully can do a trade before I die)
-
they're all good to be honest, just the svd ammo is not as common hunting scope has more precise zoom, so it's easier for longer range shots
-
Playing reckless with SVD is probably a bad idea. No second chance.
Reg Park replied to Toperek1990 (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
ahaha nice nice -
robbing is honestly not about the stuff, it's more about the experience for both parties.....much better to say "was just robbed by three guys" than "i was just mowed down and I didn't even see the shooter" i would imagine.....

nice, keep enforcing the law.
