Was transferring to a better backpack; in the middle of transfer, the last six or seven items just disappeared. Sigh. Z

Servers are showing up "First Person" and "Third Person" instead of Regular/Hard Core. What does it mean? Let's jump in and find out!!! :D Z

Wasn't a complaint, wasn't opinion. Observation leads to the conclusion. Oh, yeah, if we find a bug they want us to report it. But they are stress-testing servers and loot spawning systems and such; they don't care so much what we do, so long as we are in there playing on the servers. Again, not complaining - I am in there every day, plugging away, and having fun. Enjoying the heck out of it. But I am aware of the relationship we have to the real testers. Z

Actually, we paid thirty bucks to be guinea pigs... :D They are experimenting on us, we are not doing the experimenting. Z

:D Spills a very little. You don't tell the rats in the maze too much - heck, you don't even tell them that they are what is being experimented on! Wait - you thought that you were doing the testing? Hey, YOU are the subject of the test! Bring it on, Devs! Yeah! Z

I think they may have tweaked all the servers earlier today, it may have involved server resets of all persistent items as well. I do know that loot is much easier to come by today. Z

Hypothetical - unless somebody wants to try it: what would happen if somebody took a completely looted server, and found an area where there was a lot of junk loot - say two or three piles in a town that came from a police station, a school, a jail, that sort of thing - got a couple of guys with empty mountain packs and scavenged as much as they could carry. Filling up all they could take of rotten fruit, books, flashlights, jeans, long range scopes, and ruined items of all sorts - the sort of thing you don't want on your server - then server hopped, dumped it all, and hopped back. Wash, rinse, and repeat until they couldn't stand the timer any more, or they ran out of junk to transfer. What would happen in that area? Would loot start respawning in immediately? If so, would it be a mix, or would it just replace all the useless or harmful crap you just got rid of? Curious.... Z

Thanks for the support; I wouldn't call it stressful so much as disappointing. And instead of killing somebody, consider berries and apples. They aren't that hard to get - until they change the spawn algorithm. :D Z

It is getting to that point again. Yeah, it is possible to survive, and I have learned a couple of new tricks to do so. But I have been running around playing Barney Fife - one bullet in the gun - for a couple of days now. Looking in all of the usual spots, and some unusual ones, spending some serious hours in the game. It isn't supposed to drag like this; I know they are balancing things - first it was too much loot, now not enough. I do hope they fix it; I know we are in Experimental on Alpha, but I want to at least *feel like I have a chance* to get to the minimum level of gear to actually play the game. Z

People are taking some time and effort to move the crap loot - rotten fruit, books, useless meds, shoes, jeans - out of the good loot locations in hopes that, by propitiating the gods of BI and Loot, those locations will once again bring forth sustenance and ammunition. Sounds like a bizarre cargo cult, doesn't it? Hope it works, as I have been doing this myself. It results in piles of trash outside jails, fire stations, control towers, police stations, and so on. Z

I am noticing a bit of a strange thing - don't know if it is a bug, a feature, or my imagination. When crouched (first person), my little "cursor dot" thing seems to drift, and not really go where I am looking any more. It seems like it won't go more than thirty degrees or so down, while my view focus goes further. I will have to check it again, but I am pretty certain this has happened more than once. Anybody confirm? Oh- and mad props to whoever it was that trapped the zombie in the bedroom on the second floor of the tavern. She was so excited to see me she jumped out the window onto the roof and ran around until, sadly, she fell off and died. Well done!!! :) Z

Heh - while I was off writing that, some came on line - and got filled to capacity immediately. HAH! Z

Are there any US Exp. servers active at all right now? They all seem to be stuck. I expanded my filter to pick up European servers, and they seem to be working - but none in the US. What's up with that? Z

Okay - mad props to the guy who just Rick-Rolled me, Green Mountain tower. Paper in an obvious place - checked for snipers, then read note. Well PLAYED, sir! :D Funny visit, though - quick run through the trash, and except for a couple of cans of kvass, there wasn't anything there I wanted. .45 still doesn't seem to be spawning, except for in magazines. Worth going to see, but you could see it just as well on yewtewb. If you were a new-spawn, yeah, you could get geared-up pretty quickly; but if you have most of your basic gear, a pistol, a rifle, there really isn't much reason to go there. Unless you WANT to get Rick-Rolled. :P Z Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down...

I have looked through twits and such, can't find it addressed anywhere: Are the servers disabled on purpose, or are they actually broken? Do we have an ETA on a fix for them? That, it seems to me, is the single most pressing issue if they are broken. On the other hand, if they are trying to force max pop servers, I wonder what is being experimented on - the build, or us? :D Z

Some serious rubber-banding issues earlier, 50 meters to half a kilometer. One odd instance where it was about three steps back, a dozen or more times in succession. No issues with items in game. Z

Yup, character wipe again. I jumped in and played for about five minutes, now off to dinner. Save me some loot, okay? :D Z

HAH Now they are just jerking our chains - servers are showing as up - but they are the new version, and they haven't pushed the new patch yet! LOL. Z

Right now, from southeast USA, 17 down, 15 up - and every one jammed at full pop. Z

I'm sorry, I thought this was the place to discuss the new changes in Experimental. That means good and bad. Yes, this is a game; losing any game is frustrating, and expression of frustration - so long as it is reasonable and not just a bunch of insult - should be welcome. Having vented, we can then return and deal with the frustrations inherent in the sandbox. Z
