I'm 15, and I absolutely love DayZ. I've been playing it since before Steam Summer Sale, which is as soon as I first heard of it. I'm a CoD player and a BF3 player who's been looking for a good zombie game for a loooong time. I really don't like the mindless, "shoot-shoot-shoot" zombie games, and I think they get incredibly dull. So, I saw I video on PCgamer about it. Then a Minecrafter I'm subbed to started making a series (I don't play Minecraft anymore, but I do enjoy good videos on it). I thought, "fuck yes! Finally a good zombie game". I have yet to be disappointed by DayZ. Kudos to you, Rocket, for this genius idea. I just thought I'd share this with the people who think, "Oh noes! The DayZ community has gone to crap because too many 15 year old cod kiddies play this game".

I haven't encountered a sniper in a long time. And when I do, they usually miss. Example: I walk into Elektro. I see a sniper sitting on top of the hospital. I accidentally aggro a zombie, and run away. He takes 4-5 potshots at me (completely missing), before giving up. I then find a surviver with a hatchet, who I proceed to try to make friends with. He/she (female skin), decides to attack me with the hatchet. I kill him/her with my ak, still receiving no more shots from the sniper. Then I proceed to loot the rest of Elektro and leave. Man, where have all these snipers gone?

All i got is a FAL. Anyone willing to trade anything for it? :rolleyes:

Ya, I snuck up on some guy with a coyote backpack + svd camo... Hit him at least 7-9 times with my ak-74. I got credit for the kill, but he d/ced soon enough so that his body disappeared. I'm still pissed about that. :/

Holy crap i had no idea. Although, now that I think about it, it makes a little more sense. I tried to kill a guy with my ak-74, and it took at least 6-7 shots before he went down. (Giving him enough time to halfway disconnect, so his body disappeared).

Ok, I don't know where else to put this, but today I noticed there was a new (fairly large, 469 mbs) update for arma 2 operation arrowhead. Just wanted to ask... For anyone who actually has updated, does this change anything? I really don't want to risk all my gear, and I want to know if this update screws anything up. Thanks to anyone who replies.

The two people come together to trade. Person #1 is you, person #2 is the other guy. The other guy lays down the goods. You look them over, then you look up. Person #2 shoots you. YOU ARE DEAD.

Ya, it's a bug. My friend had that same bug where he was actually killed while he was spawning in. Then he spawned back in and spawned right behind the guy who killed him. Guy had some nice loot for my friend, too. ;)

I CANNOT join a single server after updating. I've tried about 20 servers, i've uninstalled and reinstalled the beta patch, 1.7.2.3, and I still get "wait for host".

If you can add fire stations, deer stands, hospitals, and all those other points of interest, this could be the best loot map ever.

Personally, not worth it for me.... Stary sobor's not as bad, and berezino is kind of overlooked. Never actually found any good gear at NW airfield. All my gear came from stary/balota/other random shit.

There are male/female... Although I somehow doubt that the 17% of players who play dayz and choose female are actually girls...

For me, I got mine with my first murder this life. I was in Cherno, right next to that big huge building that has several stories that snipers like to camp on. (My friend was with me that day, and I was trying to convince him of how awesome this game is). I'm in Cherno, and I see this guy going up the building, so I decide to follow him just to show my friend some PVP. I sneak up to the second floor, right next to a ladder, which is the only way up. I decide to camp there, and wait for him to come down. (He looked like a low level character, so I doubted he would be up there long). I wait for about 5 minutes, then low and behold, what do I hear? I hear a player coming up from behind me. He's running up the stairs. I shoot him several times, but i'm prone, so I don't do much damage. He gets a couple good shots off on my body, and I fall unconcious. I managed to kill him though, so I wait it out and fortunately I don't die. I bandage up, and check his body. I see the beloved NVG's and rangefinders. I take both, and i see he also has L86A2 thermal thingy. I grab that up too, but then I lost connection. (It was when dayz was being hacked and connection was iffy). I fly to another server, hoping that i got the nvg's and the gun. When I finally reconnect, I had lost the gun, but fortunately I got the nvg's and rangefinder, which is all i really wanted anyway. I just wanted to share that :D

I don't want to join any hardcore clans that require you to be on 5 hours out of the day, I'm just looking for any casual clan or anyone who just wants to play with me and hang out. I need more people to help out in gunfights, and to just screw around with. I really like cod, it was the first FPS I ever tried, and it has a sort of "sentimental value" to me. I don't play this game like cod, don't worry. If I did, I wouldn't have survived long enough to get the loot I have ATM.
