The model for the tomato in game is huge. When I first saw it I thought it was a rotten pumpkin or something. You also need to find the tactical bacon. It says it can last for 10 years and it was delicious. Next time I'll have to take a screen shot. Also, I don't think that's the new town. If that's near Lopatino and the NWAF it's been there for awhile.

I believe that's because the messaging system that they're using between your client and the server is incredibly inefficient. The dev's know about it and are working on a guaranteed messaging system that should bring that down as well as fix some of the desync issues some people are having. +1 on this being the answer. I did it myself a couple of weeks ago. A couple of things to note: your video settings and key bindings will not carry over unless you copy the files from your old computer. Also, when you first log into steam and then DayZ on your new computer your character will look like a fresh spawn. Don't panic, just log into your server type (regular or hardcore) and your character will be there. Your character on the login screen will be back to normal when you exit the server.

All I'm seeing is 4 servers in Australia (~300 ping) with the latest update. Looks like it's time to go get some beans IRL.

OP, while I understand your frustration, I completely disagree with you. Not knowing every other player's intentions is what makes DayZ the tense game that it is.

Got hooked on OFP back in the day. Played all the Arma's and even a little VBS2. Somehow missed the whole DayZ mod. Stumbled across an article on SA and I've been here ever since.

I have a theory and I'd like to ask this question: When you've seen a cheater* have you been with a group, or solo? I play mostly solo and in about 100 hours I haven't seen a cheater*. Most of the videos of cheaters* that I've seen have involved groups. So, do the cheaters* just go after groups to get bigger kicks? *I'm not going to throw fake statistics around, but I'm willing to bet that most of the people using hacks are not actual hackers. Downloading someone else's script/code and using it to cheat doesn't make you a hacker, it makes you a cheater. To deebz1234's point above, I don't know why we keep feeding their egos by calling them hackers. I'll step off my soapbox for now.

There's a lot more than that. It all depends on where you live and the ping setting in your filter. There's been a lot more people on them since the latest update. Once stable gets another update, I expect it to go back down again.

Teaming up with random people is a lot of fun. Glad to see that you enjoyed it.

Am I mad, nope. I got shot in the back by someone like you yesterday (joke was on him - all the cool stuff I had was in the backpack). I spawned back on the coast where I ran into a fellow Bambi. We spent the next hour and a half or so together trying to keep our characters from starving to death. I had a ton of fun. Meeting random people and gearing up from the beginning are the most fun with the game in the state that it's in. You may be a badass running around with end game gear, but it's called "end game gear" for a reason.

I don't know if it's a bug, or just a flaw in the RV engine, but if the capacity of the magazine is 15 rounds, then you should be able to load the 15 round magazine + 1 more round in the chamber. You'll see a lot of firearms advertised with a capacity of 15 + 1 or 10 + 1 depending on the capacity of the magazine, and this is what they're talking about. When I've done it IRL, you put the fully loaded magazine in the weapon, let the slide go forward, chambering the round, drop the magazine and put another round on top and then reinsert the magazine. Why go running around one short when you don't have to? Should the dev's fix this, sure. Should it be a priority, nope.

This is the answer. You have to put the pistol in your hands on the inventory screen to be able to unload it. Once you do, you should see 1 round underneath it that you can right click on (or probably just drag off). Don't ask me how long it took me to figure that out :)

They really need to fix the gate sounds. They scared the hell out of me the first couple of times I heard them. Now they're just part of the background noise - sad. They also need to add door opening and closing sounds. That would ratchet up the tension real quick if you thought you were alone in a town.

I thought your character was saved to the hive you were playing on (ie regular, hardcore, etc...). When I recently changed computers, all I had to do was install steam and download DayZ again. It did change me back to my windows user name as GafMast said, but that's a quick fix. It also made my character look like a fresh spawn on the login screen as the client on my new machine had never been connected to any hive yet. As soon as I logged in, my fully geared character was there. The only thing that you have to copy over is your video settings, as that's stored in the config files on your local machine. I haven't found an authoritative source on this yet, but will append it if I do. If someone else finds one, let us know. This is a good question. EDIT: I found a couple of threads on this that confirm that your character is saved to the hive not your local computer - I'd call that the cloud, but it may just be semantics.
