I like this idea as long as it's optional to play whatever phase you want (no strict game-based requirements...of course private servers can do as they please in this regard). Something like this would add depth to the experience. -
Yes and it's annoying. At least items typically stay in the storage you put them in...but it's irritating to play backpack tetris every time I log on.

Is it correct that if this guy has post-processing turned off he won't know if his health is low because there will be no blurred vision? If so he maybe he thought he was at full health, but really quite low? -

The game needs bandits and the threat of KOS. Detecting, avoiding, engaging, combating, and interacting with other players makes up the vast majority of the depth and challenge for this game. Without the threat from other players DayZ is a hiking & camping simulator with no real purpose. -
I simply cannot wait for more crafting, base building, and - most of all - hunting and fishing!

I think a cobbled-together "rail" sled (think METRO-style ) would be an interesting vehicle to include. It would be limited by the railroad tracks unlike cars or whatever else gets implemented, but still would provide a transportation option. Yes it should be difficult to craft and maintain, but it would be more restrictive than a car and certainly any flying vehicle. It could be balanced as needed by difficulty to slow & stop, the level of noise it makes, etc.

This is a tough one. Yes, NV/IR would be a big advantage, but with a 10-12 hour (or thereabouts) night cycle this would be one way to fight the gamma exploit and give people a reason to play servers with night cycles. Personally I don't use the gamma exploit, but I have a very limited amount of time I get to play so I nearly always opt for daytime-only servers because I get more out of my gaming minutes during daytime.
