Again...doesn't need to be western or american...they were just used as examples. The suggestion is to have a rifle and pistol that use the same ammo. That's the meat of the suggestion. It is not important which manufactures or models are chosen.

Fair enough. I would have no objection to that...I was just giving an example and used weapons and ammunition I know well.

You also need reloading equipment and die sets...this will be very complex. Also, ammo shouldn't be super rare...billions of rounds are made every year

I agree with most of this and the direction you're going, but a couple of my thoughts: I don't like the idea of a special encumbrance-gate for riding a bicycle. There will be a weight/stamina/encumbrance system implemented and that should be enoughThey can consume energy/stamina at the same rate as being on foot as long as you cover significantly more distant during that time frame and there should be multiple paces for riding like there are for walking/jogging/sprintingNo random crashing, but tire blowouts and broken chains do happen occasionally. You should be able to ride with a flat tire, but only at slower speeds and it damages the actual rim if you do soHave tires and rims separate items. Tires can be patched or replaced, but rims once ruined must be replaced.Bent or damaged rims result in slow paces and rough riding There should be character & item damage if you do crash your bike into something or ride if off something high or overly steep. Just curious about this. I NEVER see any conversations going on via global text chat in-game; (yes, I'm playing on busy servers). This is the polar opposite of say RUST where the chat frequency approaches spamming.

Optimization is going on all the time, but the focus right now is content creation and implementation...getting the critical content systems, mechanics, and structures in place. Once the content is mostly in then you focus on optimization.

Other threats like weather, sickness, and increased danger from zeds will help as well as players will be more preoccupied with survival and have less free time for bambi killing. Other activities like scavenging parts for vehicles, hunting, and cooking will help as well.

I must respectfully disagree with your premise that: "The whole point of this game is Zombies." It is not true to say the only point of this game is zombies. What the game is about is survival in a harsh post-apocalyptic world in which one of the many threats is zombies. There are other threats like starvation & dehydration due to the complete lack of a functioning economy. There are threats of disease and injury as well - and the even greater threat of them going untreated because there is no medical infrastructure anymore. And from the beginning Dean has said that the greatest threat in Day Z will always be from other players who are in the same boat and want your stuff. I do not disagree that zombies can be improved...of course they can, but they are one component of this not-yet completed game. That doesn't mean they aren't important, but if they don't end up being everything we can possibly imagine them to be it doesn't mean the game won't be good or great; likewise if zombies do turn out to be terrific that doesn't' mean the other critical parts of the game would necessarily be great. Don't hang all your hopes for this game on zombie mechanics alone. Consider zeds as one important part of a lot of important parts and judge the game when it's finished (or at least in commercial release) on it's whole offering.

The US experimental servers are restarted daily from what I can tell. However, I've only been playing the experimental branch for about a week. When I first started I had a hell of a time finding any food as well as every place I went, even small locations, had been looted. However, when I came back online after that first session, it was clear the server had been restarted because different loot had spawned in the building where I logged out. Found the same to be true over the weekend as well.

How many hours you have playing it?

When are they putting in the Ben Affleck masks?

On a side note, Banished is really good.
