You have a point, what if someone uses the feature to get behind a player. Even if you were teleported into a random location, there is no guarantee you would. Not spawn behind or in front of another player, making the feature pointless. Even if you could not teleport to an area within a certain radius of another player the feature is still able to be manipulated to cause mischief. If you go into a military base or rare loot area it is a risk you take. If you log in or out at a military base or other rare loot area again it is a risk you take. It is best to leave it how it is, and not introduce something that could make the game worse overall.

While I don't mind the idea, I can see this feature being manipulated. I have no doubt that people will go around placing the spiked items, to just troll or annoy players. It would suck if you go into a town starving or dehydrated pick up a drink or food and drop because it is spiked, not by someone wanting to loot a player but someone who just placed it there for their own amusement. The only way to really solve that is to make the food check able for spiking, by having your character having a small taste of what they are eating, not enough to hurt them, but just test the food. However I can imagine this growing tedious and annoying, so overall while I agree with the idea, I cannot support its current form.

Open letter/suggestion/request to the DEVS: DO NOT implement nudity/scat/piss.

I agree with and support this post. -
I have only started to play this game in the last few days and I am having a problem finding guns outside of military bases. I have played on full! empty and recently restarted servers with few players and have yet to find anything other then those on corpses or in the bases. I have googled this and have searched in the recommended areas with no results. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong/ where to find these weapons? All help appreciated =D

While I agree something needs to be done about server hopping, I believe that there could be a better solution or at least improvements to the current system. One idea I have heard and agreed with is to remove the time when logging into the server you just left. You could not have joined any other server to do this, so moving your character if they are in danger would not be possible. Also it would prevent people server hopping still as they can't loot the same place they looted minutes before except after a restart of course. I personally think the current system should be removed but not permenatly. At the moment character wipes do happen fairly often so server hopping while annoying really does not affect the game overall. Once a feature is introduced which would give server hoppers too much advantage like persistent containers or vehicles then it should be reintroduced. While I have no problem with the current system I am sure there could be a better way to deal with it or at least improvements made.

Persistent storage containers; do you like the idea or not?
Lumeria replied to -MadTommy's topic in General Discussion
I think persists storage is a good idea, as long as it is raid able and server based. There could be different types with differing slots with the more slots options being harder to craft. Traps should also be available but maybe a limit to them in a certain area so people don't spawn bear traps to the point it is impossible to pass or make the trap work for everyone eve the one who set it. I do however think that they should last beyond death. If they don't it is kinda pointless. What would be the point of storing gear if It could be gone any second once you die, people simply would not use it. I agree with items slowly degrading over time in safes but only when a player is playing. It would suck to leave for a week to find all your stuff ruined. -
I like the idea but an issue I see is transporting the items needed for base building without a car or other vehicle. But I think this is a good idea as long as it is easy to understand. I can also see this lowering KOS rates as people want to keep items they gathered for their custom bases.
-
The idea of this seems like a good one but it comes with a disadvantage. Should this be implemented as you suggest I can see people running around with knives cutting things up, making lots difficult for those who come after. Ways around this include making items degrade when using them to ruin equipment, but I can still see people gathering a bunch of items to ruin things instead of just one. Another solution could be to make it so only one slightly rare items can ruin clothes, one for guns etc. This would limit people's ability to wreck things on a mass basis, as long as the item degrades fairly quickly. Other than that I support your idea.

Best places to find guns other then military bases?
Lumeria replied to Lumeria's topic in New Player Discussion
Status update: I have searched in the recommended areas put toward by people in this forum post, and am still as unlucky as ever. I have honestly given up on the idea of ever finding a Mosin or SKS of my own. I understand this May seem childish but you can only look for so long before losing hope. Thank you for your help, I hope this can help future new players. -
From what I have heard from threads similar to this, horses may be implemented as they have been mentioned by Rocket though they are hard to do apparently but saddles are way easier. I do agree that horses, donkeys and saddles should be in the game. Wild herds would be cool.

Where I live video game ratings are controlled by people who basically don't understand video games so even if it is harmless it could still lead to the game being banned.
-
I would rather not have this, simply as a personal thing, and the possible issues it could raise for rating where I live which could see the game banned, but while I will not use it I don't see why others can't.

I don't like the idea of mini games for Dayz, at least most of those suggested here. A mechanic mini game would in my opinion just be an annoyance to do. If you want more in depth car mechanics the. You should play a game suited for I like the one you showed in your pictures. While fixing cars should not be easy, it should not be an annoyance either, at least more then it need so be. A lock picking mini game is something which is much more viable but if not implemented which again be an annoyance and a chore. I think something like berry picking would be better instead of a mini game. Just like berries, which you may pick or not locks should be similar, you either pick it or not. I don't disagree with a fishing mini game as it can be fairly boring of you just stand there waiting for a fish. But again I has to not be a chore or else people will be turned off of fishing.

I have to agree with basically what most here have said, if I want to make children in a game, I will play the Sims where it is much more suites to game play. Also the idea of that act being in is game is a bad idea, it would lead to many awkward situations, and be pointless really.

Books that give you abilities, skills, and animations while in inventory
Lumeria replied to THE_T_V1RUS's topic in Suggestions
That is much better in my opinion but I still don't want the books in game, even if they are implemented in the way you suggest. I would rather everyone be on the same level the having to search for a book you may never find to just get more meat from hunting. -
Books that give you abilities, skills, and animations while in inventory
Lumeria replied to THE_T_V1RUS's topic in Suggestions
I don't agree with having books for stuff like medical treatment, hunting etc because it would put too many at a disadvantage. It would suck to not be able to give a friend some blood or hunt for food when your starving because you have not found the right book yet. It would also be terrible to have to hold the books in ones inventory as it would waste space. Once read it should be remembered and dropped for another. I do however agree with the idea of having manuals for reading to repair cars and such as they are very complex, but they should not to extend to changing a tire or putting in fuel just repairs such as those for the engine. -
Best places to find guns other then military bases?
Lumeria replied to Lumeria's topic in New Player Discussion
Thank you all so much for your help! Hopefully I will be able to find a mosin of my own or an SKS which I found on a body and then was immediately shot XD -
Yeah I live in Australia, and the use of drugs in Saints Row 3 which gave the player an advantage was the problem. If the addiction gives advantages it would be likely banned here. Also the idea of addiction itself could cause the game to be banned, which would suck.
-
I think this is a bad idea, even as a new player I can see the issue with this, that is that if someone needs to change it due to a glitch, bug or simply due to personal preference they would be unable, unless they reinstall which would be infuriating. Also to the best of my knowledge everyone can change the gamma and brightness so it is and advantage all can use, and from what I have noticed most avoid night servers like the plague,

I agree with classes, as long as they are not military based and are random. In other games which allows class selection, most go for the most powerful class, making it really pointless. Randomising it would stops this, though people may kill themselves to get a class so maybe make classes stay the same regardless of respawn for maybe 30 minutes after you respawn. Also this type of system would put more value on player lives. If a medic class could heal a player on a more advanced scale, it would likely stop bandits killing on sight as a medic would be of value. Also people would be more inclined to team up, with a variety of classes in each group to gain the advantages of each.

While I have no problem with addiction to pain killers or morphine adding more hardcore drugs could cause rating issues for some countries with strict game rating laws. I don''the think it would be fair on them, even though it would be realistic. Also addiction should not be random, it should occur after maybe 3 in a short period and not possible at any use of the product.

To stop Kill On Sight, we should make life more valueble
Lumeria replied to super_shadow's topic in Suggestions
I agree with the idea of a bounty hunter system, as it creates risk in killing on sight as you don't know if it will make you a target. Also at the moment as many here have said already people kill out of boredom, once more is added less killing on sight will occur.
