You gotta stick and move, stick and move. Axe the zeds, then immediately put a building or couple of fences between yourself and the point you killed them at. It's been working for me, even though it probably shouldn't. Zombie aggro is janky at the moment.

FAO : Accolyte (Cheater video evidence)
Bubbled Luff replied to hitt0r's topic in General Discussion
They need to make walls solid somehow, something to fix both of these glitches/exploits/cheats. I never realised 1pp could look through the walls that effectively despite it being my chosen viewpoint. -
(Rocket Stream) Did he say we can jump from public to private?
Bubbled Luff replied to pacific_coast's topic in General Discussion
I think the point is, if a private server will not spawn all the parts you need for a heli due to this proposed mechanic, how do you get them & will that make private hive pointless for endgame? What will then happen, is that private hives will modify spawn rates etc., sand you lose the vanilla experience. However, private hives may well not be governed by this global loot economy and thusly this is a moot point. -
Not sure but maybe you miss my point, perhaps I don't make myself clear enough. SHADE OUT ANY AREAS TO NEAR BLACK THAT ARE OUT OF LINE OF SIGHT YOU CAN STILL HAVE THE CHARACTER MODELS AND LOOT POP IN AND OUT AS NECESSARY Maybe that explains it better?

Hi dude. If you'd read my other posts in this topic you'd see I play 1pp and would like more to join us, I just don't share your point of view on ways if achieving it. My problem with this particular 4th wall mod is that it doesn't let you know what you can't see, which goes against how your brain perceives things just popping in out of nowhere. If I were able to suggest an improvement to this mod, I'd add to it by heavily shade any areas out if the line of sight so that you would have a clear visual indication of what your avatar is 'able to see'. It would still make 3pp a bit of a joke though. I don't really have any issue with 3pp being left as it is though, doesn't affect me. I'd rather people were allowed to enjoy this game however they see fit to play, and from whatever perspective they do it from. I honestly don't think there is any way to merge the two viewpoints into one hive that won't affect either negatively.

Fantastic news wind will affect bullets
Bubbled Luff replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Would be nice if when they have worked on the sound some more, you could 'hear the wind' ie blowing into the relevant ear depending on where it is coming from. With stereo or surround headsets this would be a great feature. Also be good to be able to toss a handful of dust up to gauge wind direction and strength. -
I agree, this mod makes it completely ridiculous to play 3pp. It's a noble attempt, and yes it 'fixes' being able to see players out of line-of-sight, but in the worst, most immersion breaking way... it's a joke to have things pop into view like that. It won't affect my play, but I don't subscribe to the 'force 3pp users to play my mode by ruining the 3pp experience' school of thought. The only way to get 3pp users to migrate is to make 1pp the true 'survival sim experience' and give it hardcore survival features that are absent in 3pp regular mode. Make it more brutal, lower item spawn, just something to differentiate it beyond viewpoint.

(Rocket Stream) Did he say we can jump from public to private?
Bubbled Luff replied to pacific_coast's topic in General Discussion
Very good point. You won't have ANY vanilla private servers if endgame cannot be achieved without having to server hop, and private cannot hop to public and vice-versa. They will all be running custom scripts to raise spawn rate of the 'rare' heli parts... and that is a slippery slope into '1,000 vehicles and custom loadout on spawn'. Also, if private can hop to public, but those private servers are passworded, are any of the 'rare' heli parts lost to the public hive? -
I re-watched the video and it is still not clear to me; this 4th wall mod or script is applied globally to the server? By which I mean, will it be active in both 1pp and 3pp viewpoints? As if glitches/bugginess/exploits/lag the mod itself has would affect 1pp as well, then I would be against it...

The main reasons people KOS are: 1) lack of endgame 'tasks' (vehicles, bases, more things to do and reasons to travel the map) 2) lack of real zombie threat (actually improved on last patch, but in broken fashion) 3) human nature. A lot of people see this game as 'military gear shooter with zombie apocalypse setting' rather than 'apocalypse survival simulator' and will PVP and KOS regardless. Reducing ammo spawn to nothing will not change things, granted it's too common at the moment, but hopefully this is just as the range of guns and ammo types are still quite small. With that said, do you pick up that 1911, 75 or FNX as things stand? Needing the right ammo and mags has made the choice harder - and this is choice/scarcity through variety that I can support.

What are the cons of having higher Field of View
Bubbled Luff replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Bang on the money! 'Focussed' view also improves frame rate (pro tip) albeit either of these is only a few frames gain. 1PP gives you a slightly bigger gain. The main drawback with too high FOV is weird visuals, a bit like looking into a concave mirror. -
'Crafting' a ghillie would probably make it easier than finding one, if they spawned in as rarely as the press vest or pristine LRS, because realistically they appear quite simple to make. Not sure why anyone would think sewing some cloth strips onto some camo gear, or sticking some foliage into webbing would be difficult? Sewing is not rocket science, you needn't be a tailor do a rudimentary job of it. I'm not against them being in the game though - just ought to have some compromises as has been suggested already. The more choices clothing-wise the better, same applies to a lot of the loot. Greater loot variety will make any specific item harder to find by default as there are only a finite number of spawn points. Rangefinders? Have the mildots on some scopes, have rangefinders too - if they are a two-slot item people will be forced to decide if they are really worth carrying - and probably, like a compass, after you have things down they won't be 'essential' anyway.

The only real way to achieve a level playing field is to remove one of the two perspectives /hives completely. There is no way on God's green Earth that a fourth-wall system can be implemented without itself being open to exploits, or causing some insurmountable glitchiness for both viewpoints. Just like leaning into walls allows those of us in 1pp to look through said walls (just a little less effectively than 3pp), people would find a way to exploit fourth wall to obscure themselves whilst seeing others. Nature of the beast. The hack creators would find ways to bypass the system too. Also I fear that any fourth wall system would have to run globally on a server, and be in front of either 1pp or 3pp no matter your choice, so any problems affect both parties - not good for anyone. In 3pp, fourth wall would I fear mess with your head (I can see over the wall, no-one there, move round and in pops a guy into the space I could could see which was unoccupied a second ago) unless you go full 'fog-of-war and heavily shade out any areas you cannot see from your current position, in order that you know exactly where you can't see. And that would be equally game-breakingly unrealistic and unimmersive. As all these issues take up Dev time, I'd rather they bite the bullet and just fix up and go wholesale to one viewpoint. Please spend your time on content and bug fixing. Make walks solid or give the avatar's head a hit box so you can't clip. Like most 1pp players, I am worried that there aren't enough players on hardcore. Enough to find well populated servers currently, yes - but I guess only about 10-20% of the total userbase. However, I would rather switch wholesale to 3pp the way it is now than with any fourth wall system there, I just can't see it bring without some flaw that are more detrimental to both parties than the current 3pp system. And if the Devs do bite the bullet, I fear 1pp would be the one to get dropped as the numbers aren't there. 'Pussycore' etc name-calling is not helping our cause thanks - if anything that person getting called-out will now never try 1pp because you were an ass to them. Not good. So perhaps the current situation is actually the best compromise after all?

Scoped crossbow, mmm tasty! -
Glad they are going to redo mouse control, hoping for 1:1 input, which as luck would have it, has to be the least work.
-
The major problem is that the acceleration in it's current state is inversely-proportional and moves your cursor faster the slower you move your hand. Wrong and counter-intuitve. A minor bit of properly-implemented positive acceleration I could just about live with. But would prefer disable acceleration option.
-
+1 'Acceleration' is an artificial curve applied whereby the speed your mouse moves equates to greater distance moved on screen. People wanting 1:1 movement DO NOT want mouse acceleration (or at the very least be able to disable it).
-
Every time I come to this forum I regret doing so.
Bubbled Luff replied to sumusiko's topic in General Discussion
Bit harsh when OP did not complain about the game though? -
I wasn't digging out any one person in particular, so please don't take it personally. However. 1:1 only means 1 unit movement to 1 unit cursor movement on screen - the dpi of your mouse will affect what equates to 1 unit. So at 800dpi 1 unit will be different in distance moved to 4200dpi. So Higher dpi moves your cursor faster at the cost of precision. I think that is where people are taking the 'omg CoD twitch' thing from while it really isn't about that at all. The '4-5 feet' thing, I'm not sure where you get that from though.
-
I think this may be hive-connectivity related rather than a problem with a patch.

Why did they change everything about zombies but the worst problems?
Bubbled Luff replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
Personally I would have liked them to fix the Zombie path finding and agro parameters before making them respawn like this. It doesn't make sense to do it in the order the Dev team has; seems more like trying to appease the anti-KOS crowd than fixing things in a logical order. But then maybe they will fix the pathing etc. somewhat in the next week or two and you will be able to tactically move in a Zombie-infested area a little more realistically. My big hope is that respawning Zombies is not an alternative to just having more of them in the map in the first place. You SHOULD be able to clear areas for a period of time. -
I honestly cannot believe people are defending the current state of mouse acceleration in this game. Moving mouse slowly, you turn more quickly than moving mouse at a moderate speed; it's messed up. Also, some of those defending the current flawed implementation do not seem to understand what a 1:1 ratio means - it just means without acceleration e.g. Moving mouse by 1 unit will move cursor by 1 unit. What it DOES NOT mean is '360 no-scope'. The fanboy defence force on this forum, jeez.

"known issue" Melee: Can't swing with weapon in lowered stance
Bubbled Luff replied to Baklavah's topic in General Discussion
IMO you should perform a baseball-bat style 'swing' with melee weapons in the low position, and a vertical axe-style 'chop' from the raised position. Area of effect vs. precision strike. -
Why no warning on server restart?
Bubbled Luff replied to pacoarizasystem's topic in General Discussion
Gamingdeluxe servers have the extended BEC controls and by default have a 5 & 1 minute warning before restart. -
Admins Shutting Servers Down When They Get Killed
Bubbled Luff replied to Solopopo's topic in General Discussion
Works for me, speaking as an Admin. Could care less for the mil-spec gear etc., personally more fun to be had when you're not attached to your gear and paranoid about losing it. But others will think differently depending on playstyle and what you're looking to get out of the game.
