Adding an Indian headdress into DayZ would be hugely, hugely racially insensitive and I would really hope the dev team aren't like that.

The Ruger MKII Is Coming, But Whats It Like?
olin replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
People who seem to think the .22 is only enough to kill rabbits and birds are going to be in for a real surprise... -
It's also worth noting that those flecktarn jackets can be found in abundance at literally any military surplus store in the world. It's a bit silly for people to argue about what would and wouldn't be in a fictional city (especially when some people still seem to think Chernarus is a part of the Czech Republic/a real place at all), but it seems very likely that there would be at least one surplus shop lying around a post-Soviet state!

I'm sure once private hives are implemented, there'll be servers where you can spawn with a Harrier, 4000 tins of beans and a sewing kit, but until then, I duno, maybe just play the game? I think (hope) that for a majority of players, gearing up is a really enjoyable thing to do, and is quintessential to almost all player contact. Not to mention that spawning as a premade character would destroy every ounce of role playing available to whoever taps away at the keyboard like the stinky nerds we all are.

This is a nice idea but I tend to agree with Rhodes on pretty much everything he says.. Having it for hardcore only servers would be great, but that's a monumental amount of work for a minority of players. Having to pull out bullets could still be implemented though, but just with a risk of infection if it isn't done hygienically, IE alcohol tincure and fire to sterilise any medical equipment going inside the body; obviously some parts of the body could be more troublesome than others, such as the ribs, which could still lead to infection, but legs and arms being relatively easy to clear out and clean. Hell maybe even throw some alcohol in game to increase pain tolerance for these surgeries so that you can stay conscious, or drinking enough to be deliberately unconscious and be revived by a buddy.

Update Rev. 0.36.115535 (Experimental branch)
olin replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
It's astounding how many players (undoubtedly 17 year old boys) are absolutely certain they know more than Rocket and the team regarding the development of a game. They've so far released nearly a patch a week, adding interesting content and fixing the bugs they feel need fixing along the way. Combat logging was complained about unanimously, so they fixed it as best they could, when people started crying like the CoDbabies they are about "not enough guns" they add more. Surprisingly, and this may come as a shock to all you ultracrepidarian jackasses out there who think you know it all, the devs for this game know damn well what they're doing, are working hard, and your incredible insightful 'advice' about "hEy y don't u to the ZoMbIes runninG thru walls b4 adding the Hart AttAcks u IDIOTS" is not going to help anyone. We haven't seen a changelog or huge patch for a week, oh no, lets all cry about it and start to doubt the credibility of a small group of developers who have made an alpha game that is already extremely enjoyable in its current state. Quit bitching about things you don't understand, maybe realise game developers know a little more than you bout developing games, and if you don't like it, consider not playing it. We're seeing the start of a weather implementation system relative to player health, this is huge, it's increasing the PVE challenge that the game could use to make it feel a little less like the worlds biggest deathmatch. But no, God forbid you can't gear up in ten minutes at the military tents and hunt those fresh spawns like the true survivor you are!- 604 replies
