New status effects (Something people should read)
NanoAnarchy replied to Deity's topic in General Discussion
Anyone know roughly how many beans, spaghetti, tuna or sardines you have to eat for energised to happen? I tried around 5 using a can opener the other day ( Wasn't hungry at the time) and got nothing. Just curious on the amount is all, cus would save some inventory room lol -
KoS will always be part of the game, it's just something you have to accept. Running in a group makes this less of a problem sure (OR at least avenges your death) but you have to accept it. I've had this happen a few times to me, and I'm only angry about 2 of those occasions. 1 Was a guy being attacked by zombies (Was in a city). I'd heard and saw him down one with a gunshot, but as he then put his gun away and drew his axe, I assumed (Wrongly) he was out of ammo. So I stepped in ( Not even geared well, only weapon I had was a baseball bat) And helped deal with the group. I then proceeded to back away, putting away said bat, only to see him draw his gun and shoot me. The second time was an unarmed player, who upon seeing me, raised his fists and ran at me, to which I drew a shovel (Only weapon at the time). He stopped, and I backed off, moved on a little bit. A few moments later, I see said player again, with a friend carrying a gun. I raised my hands only to be shot. Now probably the guy wanted my shovel ( Good luck with it, was the only weapon I had found and was badly damaged), but still, this annoyed me. There have been other occasions when I've been shot and I laugh about due to my own fault. Like seeing what I thought was a zombie in front of the building I wanted to go in, so I ran at it Axe raised. Only at the last moment did I realise it was a person with a gun. Who put me down. So like I said, unless it really pisses you off for a reasonable reason, just laugh it off, respawn, gear up and have fun in this apocalypse =)

Had one earlier today actually. Not sure if it was a desynch issue, lag or a hack, but I encountered someone as I entered the hospital. Now I wasn't too well geared, but I had a fireaxe. He seemed well geared but appeared to have no firearm as he pulled out a bat. He backed out of the front door (I'd come in the side) And due to the amount of deaths I've suffered from KoS players I ran up to the second floor, and down to the dead end so I couldn't be snuck up on. Next thing I know, I hear the sound of being hit by a melee weapon and got the message "You are dead". I generally believe that this was just a desynch error though, but thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone has had the same.

what do you guys do when you meet zombies without weapons?

Depending on the numbers I do one of three things. Option one if there's only 1 or 2 is Fists like others have said. Option 2 is carry on my business, I just sprint around the area I'm looting a bit more. Most I've had on me at this time though was around 6, with majority of them being those annoying ones that seem quicker than the others. Option 3 has only happened once, and I'm still like WTF cus I've never seen so many in a small location, which was run like hell. What didn't help is that I had around 6 come at me at first, but every time I looked behind me there was more. Not sure if it was a fast spawn or what, but I chose to run just to be safe. If anything, the most common problem I have is trying to find a zombie if I've managed to break my legs through lag or a glitch. Though I do remember my first ever spawn on this, before I knew about the issues with Zombies glitching through walls etc etc. Ran into a zombie, decided to run into a house to try and find a weapon. Next thing I know it's in front of me again even though I shut the door. And due to how it had glitched my punches registered as hitting floor/wall whilst it continued to try and eat me. That made me run for high ground the entire time babbling about zombie jesus =P -
I hope this is the right place to post this, and believe it or not I'm not bitching. I consider myself a fairly new player still ( Only around 30 hours of play total) and I've done my best to be a hero. Now a few times I've been geared up well, and most of them I've died through server desynchs or my own stupidity. Today however something happened I'm unsure about. I'd just started to explore the shipwreck up north, and had reached the top when I heard a gun shot just miss me. For a moment I ran round like a headless chicken in a panic, when I heard another gunshot, so I went prone. After this, I heard two more shots, when the second gave me the screen "You are unconscious". Before this happened though I'd looked around me, (Being in cover of the walls or whatever you would call them) and could see no one, and from my position there was no chance of being sniped from above as far as I could see. So I'm curious, was this a glitch or exploit I should tell the developers about? Or is this possible and I don't know about it? Like I said I don't mind being killed, the PvP element being part of what I think makes this game brilliant, and I know I can gear up again. I'm just unsure about what happened, and if I should report it or not.

See one thing I've noticed whilst going through the forums is that we need more people like you. Like I aid, I don't currently KoS, but bravo to you for admitting it. Like I mentioned, I have no problem for those who do, if someone gets me it's generally because of 3 options. 1) I didn't check my surroundings enough, 2) They are better geared than me, or are generally a better player or 3) A bug/glitch has caused the death and it will be fixed eventually =) Another question though, do people find rifles with a long range scope on, backed up by a pistol as the way to go? Or the m4? Or is it all down to the situation

Ok thanks guys. Like I said I weren't sure if I could be seen in that position or what not. All I have to say then, is even though I'm not a huge fan of KoS right now ( Though that may change, hey it's Dayz after all) I have to commend whoever did it for the patience of waiting there (If thats what they did), for having the skill to pull off that shot, and for helping me learn something new about the game =)
