    At first it started of good. Game ran smooth and no problems killing zombies. After 10 minutes of play I ran into a log cabin the game started to get very laggy. Also the walls didn't render properly. Ran out to another building, still lagging, and the same thing. No walls. I could just run through the red doors into the firestation. Back to stable.

    That's the reason I gave up on carrying two primaries. I'm really loving the telescopic baton, but if you take it in your hands when it's closed en then open it, 4/5 times you drop it. Which is a shame because it really rocks and, when closed, it takes only 1 slot in your inventory.

    Energy- and foodwise this .50 exp seems like a walk in the park compared to the previous one. It all seems a little bit to easy now. Too many foodspawns and too many gunspawns. All in all I like the previous one better. The lack of food spawns really gave the game another dimension for me. Once you acquired a gun, ammo, knife and axe you were able to hunt and sustain yourself.

    I find the whole "searching for apples" thing ridiculous. In real life I never had to "search for apples" while standing in front of an apple tree. I have never "not found a thing", when standing in front of an apple tree that has apples on it, and tryiong to pick one. It makes absolutely no sense. Well... maybe if you are visually impaired. I just look at a tree from a distance and I can see whether it has apples on it or not. I can understand that game engine wise it is not doable to generate individual apples on each tree. BUT they could change the system that is currently in place to something like: 1) I Walk up to a tree and from a distance of 5 meters or so I get the option to "look for apples" 2) After having done that I get one of 2 messages A: There are apples on this tree or B: There aren't any apples on this tree 3) If B then I proceed to another tree If A then I have the option "pick an apple", which can either turn out fresh or rotten (rotten because sometimes the halve of the apple that you can't see is rotten or 'gnawed' on by bugs or birds. But all in all you should get way more fresh apples than rotten apples. This would make the system much more logical and also would apply to berries or whatever which stuff they will implement with horticulture.

    All the apples I pick are rotten. As a last resort I turned to picking apples. 10/10 were rotten. Tried to axe a cow, but they are to fast, so even raw meat wasn't on the menu. So in conclusion: 1,5 hrs of gameplay I found 1 can of tuna, 1 soda, 1 kiwi, 1 potato and that's it. The last 4 of my characters on .50 exp all died of starvation.

    So if I have a badly damaged axe/machete, does sharpening it on a rock restore it to worn? Like using the sewing kit on badly damaged pants restores them to worn?

    First person server persistence?

    Well from the name I can't conclude that GB 1-269 has persistence enabled. In it's server title it says "... GB 1-269 Persistence" What I'm missing in this title is the word "enabled" or "disabled" becauise others severs have "Persistence enabled" or "Persistence disabled". My stashed gear disappeared on this server (thrust me, it was well hidden. On other servers that showed up as "Persistence enabled" in their title, I found that it seems to be severely flawed. My stashes were all well hidden, nevertheless within a timespan of 12 hrs they were gone. I'm really doubting the Persistence feature. Somewere I read that the Persistence file on the server can get corrupted, causing the server to crash and clean up the stashed items. So if anyone has other experiences (i.e. it working as it should) I would like to hear from them.

    Well, I hid a green mountain backpack in the forest. Logged out and back in, it was still there, but then the server crashed and when I logged back in it was gone. So the answer is "maybe" or "sometimes".

    On the mark! Dayz server lobby even makes Gamespy's serverlobby look good. Tackling minor issues and keeping the community informed isn't what these dev are good at. They could learn a lot from Frontier Developments' Elite: Dangerous alpha approach.
