Animals in Cities could spice things up
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to TyrDaishi's topic in Suggestions
So far as dogs go I think there should be a few different kinds of personalities involved. The first being friendly; a lot of these animals would be former domestic creatures, and so they would be friendly, and would greet/beg for food when encountered, maybe possible to make them your own? Next would be passive/wary, like any apocalypse survivor, these dogs would keep their distance from players and/or zombies, and generally avoid conflict, though they would attack if provoked. Lastly is feral/aggressive, which are dogs that have "gone native" and will warn off players intruding on their territory, and attack players, zombies, or other animals that get too close; these dogs could form small packs and might hunt small game. I don't know if this is unreasonable, at least in the long term. Obviously too much for the game in it's current state. Still, it makes sense to me. -
You should be able to wring out clothes to dry them off some, standing by fires should also help. And I think you should be able to scour the map on the trail of the elusive bath towel, so warm and plush and dry...

Only t-shirts can be torn. Everyone knows it's impossible to rip up pants or a jacket, just try it. it doesn't work, try it in real life and your head will probably explode or something.

I was all excited about the patch going stable, then...

Trying to care... no, sorry. Look around, there's some decent servers out there. -
I don't mind heat exhaustion or heat stroke if you're out running too much in direct sun, but sunburns would just be annoying imo, I don't put on sunscreen every time I head outside and I'm ok.

Just give it enough recoil that it'll be to hard to handle. Firing a hefty enough cartridge it should be enough to throw off your aim severely by the second or third shot.

They better be eating these corpses. I'd hate to see my body going to waste.

Yay! Thanks for killing me for no reason guys! Maybe next time we can share some beans?

Post-apocalyptic card games. Got any fives?

The Desert Eagle should be loud enough to draw every zombie for 50 miles.

When Map Making comes, in the far far future, what will you make?
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Big flat open field; in the middle is a pile of guns surrounded by a crowd of zombies. have fun. -
I'll be setting up Woodbury, with anyone that would like to follow. No zombie fight pit though, that sh*t got too weird for me...
-
Tough question...Because I'm not paranoid and nervous enough as it is? [/sarcasm]

Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
I'll be modeling a map after my home town and the surrounding area, I look around and see so many tactical opportunities... (Too bad I can't make the zombies look like my neighbors, or can I?) -
how do I make fire with sticks and matches
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to Shrub Rocketeer ™'s topic in New Player Discussion
I honestly think you're better off saving those for a splint; in case of emergency. -
REALLY NEEDED Opening and close Door Sound Effect !
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to NINJAHITAM's topic in Suggestions
What if I can just oil the door hinge and sneak up on you that way... -
I think that by not spawning with any special presents, there's more motivation to stay alive already. I've owned this game for months, and I finally found my first firearm yesterday (weird luck, I guess) you can bet I have motivation to stay alive. Although, right now my motivation is to find some bullets...

Zombies a bit unbalanced- not a threat, yet still a threat?
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to guppy22143's topic in Suggestions
I've had the same experience, bayonet and all. My opinion on the zeds: right now, too fast and too tough for the number of glitches they experience. Getting pretty sick of teleportation. I'd rather see large numbers of weak, slow zombies that make urban area dangerous, rather than a couple tougher sprinters in each town. -

I have a can opener. Hire me to open your cans. The fee is 25% of your beans. -
144p is the highest resolution option...

Honestly, I'd just like to see glass break, that way we can start without having every window broken; and I could shatter a pane with a rock or something to draw of the zeds. But that's not exactly a development priority and it shouldn't be.

[Suggestion] Streams and waterfalls
Pvt_Larry (DayZ) replied to Rigor Mortis (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Streams are indeed better than stagnant water, but I caution heavily against drinking from one unless you have a very good idea of the source, streams that flow through, say, a cow pasture have a tendency to pick up various parasites and microbes that can be just as dangerous. Just a thought. -
Just find an empty server. There's your campaign.
