I haven't killed anyone yet; but I did get beat up by these two guys in their underwear. One started punching me and the other killed me with a fire extinguisher when I tried to run. But seriously, what's with the no pants thing?

Oh man, I want that blue UN helmet. I was actually about to suggest that they add it but I guess I don't have to. No way I'd paint that. I think it'd be good to have in the game; there's no way somebody with one of those is a bad guy, right?

I didn't realize that you spawned without a weapon in standalone. So at first I put my batteries in the flashlight, dropped the flashlight because I've been told it's worthless, and said "***** it, let's do this." Well, eight spawns later I haven't even found a basic weapon. I've been killed by zombies, starved once, and one time this guy without pants hit me over the head with a fire extinguisher. I've tried stealth, I've tried just racing around and outrunning zombies, I spent 10 minutes punching a zombie to death, and I've done everything in between. What do I do to get a weapon in this game? I'm sure everyone's gone through the same stuff, and I've read over the guides and all, but I'm still having a hard time. Bad luck or wrong technique?

Yeah, if you get attacked by the zombie soldiers, take a look at their patches. I haven't gotten a close look, but the shoulder flag insignia appears to be one blue stripe and one yellow stripe. I assume this would constitute a Chernorusian flag.

I don't live in a neighborhood, I live in a county with a population density of approximately 5 people per square mile and every resident is a gun rights activist so...

Terrain reminiscent of Czech Republic, shape apparently analogous to Georgia, and the buildings and environment remind me of Belarus honestly. Either way, we seem to have the post-soviet state part down.

Voted yes on the first 2- you'd be surprised just how easy it can be to crack some skull. Bladed weapons and most blunts at least. Maybe the hunk of wood doesn't do so much damage, but if you really wind up with that baseball bat I think you could kill with one blow. But a no vote on the last because of the whole "infected human not living dead" argument. Only thing with the zeds is that I'd prefer them to be your cliche stumling/shambler type zombie that move in large groups rather than the runners we've sort of had. At least they don't sprint like dayz mod and 28 Days Later. Just my two cents though.

Not to take too much from the Walking Dead; but there has to be a prison, not the little jail cells that we have now, but a full on high security prison with fences, cell blocks and guard towers.

Yeah, makes sense and would definitely be interesting.

Obviously Russian/Soviet style equipment should be rather abundant, but seeing as there's always been alot of US/Western equipment involved in Dayz there should be some available as well, albeit rarer. Here's the way I see it: When the infection began to spread Chernorusian forces tried to contain the situation on their own, and acepted Russian military intervention. As the situation spiraled out of control, NATO troops also began to deploy, but this was largely limited to special forces groups and USMC detachments. Hence, western weapons and equipment are present, but centered around a few aircraft wrecks and scattered bases.

First time I went scavenging I opened a door and there was a Zed right on the other side (My volume was down so I didn't hear him). I'm not proud of my reaction.

My name's Larry. Well, it's not really Larry; but you all my refer to me as Larry. Just finished downloading the game, but I've been keeping p with videos for some time. First spawn: Saw another guy on the beach. He walked over and punched me. I pull out my flashlight and he runs away. (?) Walk to an isolated shack, attacked by zombie, run away. Find another isolated shack, empty. Starvation + blood loss= end of story. Still really awesome game; horrifyingly realistic.
