Our first interaction (other than the guy who fixed Sean's broken legs) was with a couple of people that I thought were going to be trouble at first. They kinda got the drop on us while we were searching buildings for supplies and wanted us to drop our guns. I said we were friendly but we're NOT dropping our guns so we had a little standoff. :lol: I was ready to unleash some wookie rage but Sean was able to convince them to team up with us, which turned out to be pretty awesome because one of them had a Scottish accent. I have always been kinda fascinated by those... :o

Its weird, I was able to find a sniper rifle easily the first time but I haven't found one since..... Right now all I have is a pistol. >:(

Zombies on the west coast and in certain parts of the south would still be fine! And even the frozen zombies would all thaw out in the spring and repopulate their numbers again. You would never be able to track down every frozen zombie and kill them before spring. :o

I normally wouldn't pay for an alpha or beta and hope that this doesn't become a trend in the industry but I have enjoyed the game so far. I just wish I had more time to play it. I have been kinda busy lately. :| I do have one question though. I realize we paid for an alpha so does this mean we will have to pay for the full game as well when it is eventually finished?

Just myself, my boyfriend and a small ragtag group of survivors from various parts of the country. And my turtle or course. :D I have read the entire Zombie Survival Guide so I would be well-prepared for such an event. The first thing I would do is locate a zombie-proof suit of medieval knight armor, a sword for zombie decapitation, the traditional chainsaw and some type of heavy vehicle, such as a tank, bulldozer or suv. Then we would set out on a harrowing journey across the country, most likely picking up other survivors along the way and losing a few to the zombie hordes as well. Eventually we would commandeer a military base or prison (wait, that may not be a good idea :o) as a temporary home until I was able to build my wookiee tree-city, where I would be proclaimed queen of the new world and proceed to implement bottle caps as the new currency à la Fallout 3. Yes, I have put an unusual amount of thought into this apocalyptic scenario. :o

Well, this game officially made me nerd rage last night, which is something I rarely do. :o I had my first death and it wasn't even from a zombie or another player. Sean and I were playing on a server that was nearly full and he had just logged out for a bit to go get something to eat when it happened. I had finally found my first sniper rifle (Mossin) and was looking forward to getting a chance to take out some bandits and zombies so I climbed up this ladder to this little tower so that I could get a good view of the surrounding area. There wasn't really anyone around so after a few minutes I decided I should go back down and try to find some more food and that was when I fell off the ladder and died. >:( >:( >:(

Yeah, "I broke both of my legs" seems to be the "I took an arrow in the knee" of DayZ. It happens to everyone! :o I don't have any medical supplies so I can't help but I'm sure someone on here will get your back on your feet.

That would be awesome! I could say, "Hey, go check out Brad's latest Dayz video." Then he would be like "Nooooooooo, you killed Brad!" :lol: Well, first I need to find another sniper rifle and then I have to actually track him down on whatever server he is on the moment. Then I have to find a way to take a good shot on him without getting too close because I know he plays with friends. I could really use one of my clans on this game. :o

What is really annoying is that Sean logged back in to try to get my stuff but it was gone. I don't know if that was a bug too or if someone actually was nearby and stole my gear after I fell. I didn't even have a chance to fire my sniper rifle. :| These bugs are nothing new, I'm starting to get used to them. Skyrim was riddled with bugs when it was first released and BF4 had its share of issues. Planetside 2 actually has a similar bug where if you drive a vehicle over certain things, it will explode for no apparent reason. :lol:

I'm going to hunt down and kill Brad but it has nothing to do with a bounty. He is one of Sean's favorite YouTubers so I'm not only going to kill him, I'm going to record it too. :o Now I'm sure you are thinking to yourself, "self, why would she do such a thing?" Well, I will tell you why! Last summer he said that Wil Wheaton was evil and I will not stand for such blasphemy! Why do people continue spreading these falsehoods about the great Wil Wheaton???? Anyway, I have waited for moment like this all year and at last the time has come for me to exact my revenge by killing his hero, TheRadBrad. :lol: Your doom awaits you, Bradley.

The entire internet is a garbage dump for trolls so don't worry about it. lol And yeah, its a sad statement about humanity but there are a lot of people in the world who don't understand things like empathy and being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes. They generally only care about themselves. Oh hey, I haven't read through this entire thread so I don't know if anyone mentioned this idea yet but one thing they could do is implement a chat system like Planetside 2, where you could hit a key combination to have a character voice say things like "I'm friendly!"

Well, I think the problem is that you are female AND mute. You probably wouldn't have as many problems if you were a guy. You would still have to deal with people shooting you for not talking but you wouldn't have people questioning whether or not you are actually mute. I guess a lot of people still haven't gotten past the idea that there are now A LOT of female gamers out there so they still have the old "this person is really a dood" mentality. :rolleyes: But to be fair, there ARE some people out there who do that for whatever reason. Back when we first started Estrogen, we had a couple of guys who hated us and managed to join our clan by saying they were female gamers and didn't have mics. After they caused some drama we had to create a new "Everyone must have Ventrillo and a mic" rule. We didn't want to do it but we didn't have a choice unless we wanted to get trolled again. We haven't ever had a mute person want to join us so I'm not really sure how we would handle that type of situation. But anyway, my advice is not to let those people bother you and find a group to play with who can speak for you. Hey, you're welcome to join up with me when I'm on... I usually play with my boyfriend and another friend. If someone has something to say to you, i'd be happy to taunt them on your behalf right before I put a sniper bullet through their head. :o

Their bones are so brittle!! We started playing the game (finally) and during our first hour Sean managed to break his legs from what looked like about a 4 foot drop. Yikes! Fortunately, we managed to get some help from a friendly so I didn't have to find a gun and shoot him. :o At first we thought he as glitched because he could only crawl on the ground. :lol: I'm curious if they have plans to adjust the height you can fall without breaking everything? :

Yep, Planetside 2 has a timer before you can redeploy. That would work here too.

Yeah, I assumed they would. He was a little annoyed about it but I explained that this was just an Alpha version of the game and it would probably change a lot before being released. He hasn't ever even played a BETA game before so I guess he was expecting things to be perfect already. He usually waits until games are released before he buys them. ^_^ :lol: Wow, that's awful. I wonder what would happen if you broke both arms and legs? :o Seems like you wouldn't even be able to crawl. I have been pretty cautious about climbing anything or jumping after Sean's incident. I want to see how long I can last with my first character!

I'm glad you responded before I logged off. First of all, its funny that you had to resort to name-calling. It shows your maturity level. The arrogance here is kinda funny. First you act like no one else should be offended by anything because you clearly aren't.... And now you presume to speak for all husbands and boyfriends and then go on to think you can "run circles around someone every time" You have a pretty inflated opinion of yourself. :rolleyes: But anyway, to respond to your silly generalizations and baseless assumptions, having an all-female clan is not equal in any way to bashing men. We don't go around saying things like "Join Estrogen because all men are stupid" to other female-players. lol Show me anywhere on my blog where I make silly generalizations about men or belittle them, whether its a joke or serious. I don't do things like that because I don't THINK like that. That is the difference between us. Estrogen is just a clan where female players can get together and not have to deal with.... Well, people like you for example. ;) But hey, continue on with your dumb generalizations about women, feminists, or any other group you want to make fun off... Oh before I have to get off here, I just wanted to say one last thing about this entire situation. I guess this is what it all comes down to when dealing with other people..... Wheaton's Law. This world would be a much better place if everyone followed Wheaton's Law. lol Yeah I know. I try to avoid it myself even though it can be difficult sometimes. :o

People with disabilities can have a hard time with multi-player games, whether its being deaf, color-blind, etc... I wish companies would find more ways to make it easier for them to play. I don't really have any advice other than what other people in this thread have suggested.

I absolutely agree. People need to understand that not everyone thinks "jokes" that are racist, sexist, homophobic and about other groups of people are that funny. All that does is create tension and hostility in communities so why do it? My parents taught me to respect others and I guess that's just the way I am. On the other side of that coin, I do understand that censorship can be a slippery slope like you said, which is why I would normally just "call out" the person making the comments and let him know what I think about it but I didn't want to get involved in any big argument on here. It usually just makes matters worse so I thought reporting it was the better option. I wasn't really expecting to have someone "out" my report and end up in an argument anyway. <_< Oh well. EDIT: Another thing people need to understand is that on the internet its really hard to know when people are joking. That's why I'm always careful how I say things. If i'm joking about something I always make it pretty clear.
