I'm giving up for a little while. Until the KoS dies down I had close to the best gear and had that character for several hours. The whole time I didn't see any other players. Then right at the end some guy snuck up on me in the barracks and killed me. I know you aren't supposed to get attached, but screw that. I'm done.

I've read its only a little over 20% complete, so you have a long wait ahead of you. There will certainly be more content added to the game. I'm new to this, but I've been researching quite a bit. I bought stand alone because right now it is in beta mode and once it leaves beta mode the cost will most likely go up. Right now in standalone there are tons of glitches and things that haven't been activated yet (cars, fishing, loot spots).I've read that right now it is pretty much only 20% complete in its alpha state.Now I don't have any experience with the mod version, but I really do like the Standalone.

I always hear things in the came! Zombie growls when they are no where to be found. The scariest noise being soda cans being opened, because it makes me think there is another player stalking or near me.

The night still scares me! (I don't mess with settings) but when its pitch black I'm so scared zombies or other players are going to sneak up on me. I'm still new, so when I finally get some good gear I'm scared someone is going to snipe me or loot me.

I haven't had a pvp kill yet, but I've been killed. I had just spawned and had no gear yet so I was scavenging the near by area. I saw a bunch of zombies around a factory and was stealthily going around it, when I hear gunshots and zombies going down. There were two guys in full military outfits. I raised both hands to show I was friendly, they came in real close and then just shot me in the head. While I was dieing I heard the guy over the mic and he was like "I'm sorry man, so sorry". I could tell I was his first friendly kill.

I started a new one and its a mid population server. I've found pretty good loot from the bigger towns and barns on my way to the military base. I've run into one other player and they were friendly.

I was the only person in the server, it was night time so I stayed in a fire station in the upper part of the building. Logged out to get some breakfast, came back on to a diff server and I was reset. I normally join normal servers rather than hardcore. I was mad because I finally gathered enough food and decent gear to make the trip up to the military base.

What the hell! I was playing for a couple of hours on that character and I had some really good loot, and I had just scavenged a fire station. I exited to the lobby so that I could go grab some breakfast. When I came back and entered a different server it started me off at a new spawn!! I know I did not die, so why did it respawn me!! I had decent gear with a lot of food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look for clothing with extra gear slots. Cargo pants, vests, larger backpacks, and some shirts have gear slots as well.

To open a med kit, drag to your hands (the big bottom rectangle) and it will show you everything inside, You can stuff out, put stuff in, but of course it has to belong to that genre (medicine, ammo, etc).

It all started when I "broke my legs". (btw it is really stupid how I break my legs by accidently missing the steps when I come down from a barn) When I fell off of the second floor from one of the barns I broke my legs. It sucks because just recently I had scavenged some pretty good gear and I was full on water and energy. So it was going to take awhile for me to starve to death. So i crawled along for a very long time until I gave up and said screw this I'll put it on auto pilot and hope my character dies (it didn't give me an option to respawn). I put a weight on forward key so that my character would keep crawling from town to town. This went on all morning while I left the game on. Three hours in I realized my thirst and energy stats weren't changing from full. I saw zombie a good distance from me, and I crawled to it. I was hoping it would kill me, but it didn't swing after swing nothing happened to me. So I searched a couple buildings for morphine to patch up my legs, no good. I finally came across another player and of course he tried killing me (the only time I would ever be happy another player is trying to kill me), but it didn't work! I tried talking to him with the "/" to type to him, but he couldn't see anything I was saying. He tried typing to me and I saw his, but he couldn't see mine! Great I'm invincible, but with the curse of crawling the entire time. I can't play the game crawling the whole time!!!
