My mistake, I'll edit that out. Things should work out better with the new 3.2 hit range.

Zeds are not easymode in 1.8.1, compared to how easy they were in 1.8.0.3. You should be able to kill off single aggroing zombies with your melee weapon, outside, but have trouble with multiple. Zeds in 1.8.1 are way harder than they were before, which is a plus. Yeah it must be on BiS's end then with the OA beta patch. Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait for a fix.

I'm not the only one reporting the issue. Masterpepper and bullet catcher are others who frequent this forum and acknowledge the same issue. The admin on US434 acknowledges the issue. The issue is there people are just ignoring it. https://github.com/DayZMod/DayZ/issues/194 The video posted here was just of standing while crouching, however it occurs even if you run like 5 steps. But yeah it sounds like it has been resolved for 1.8.2.

Yes I play vanilla. Why would you want to keep these atrocious zombie hit ranges instead of playing a few hours to get used to more refined, closer ranges? I mean unless you like getting knocked down from 5m away and hit another 4 times from the same spot, and can't hatchet them outside without a guaranteed hit from them.

No it first presented itself in the 1.8.1 patch. It was not there in 1.8.0.3. In fact it was the first thing I noticed in 1.8.1. I knew it was going to be unplayable when I took 3 steps and my guy was fully exhausted, which prevents you from properly aiming your weapon. Forget moving with scoped weapons, it's impossible. Some people are saying that the issue resolved itself in the latest arma patches, which is simply untrue. The bug was there in 103718 (or whatever it was), 112555, 124879, and is still there in 125548, which is why I'm convinced it's an issue with the 1.8.1 patch. They most definitely aren't unnecessary. The complaining stopped because we're all eagerly waiting for 1.8.2. We'll all adapt once again to a more polished hit range. Anything is better than what it currently is.

I don't care about the zombies, in fact I like them being faster/harder. I think you're right about the exhaustion having nothing to do with dayz, but it should've been fixed a while ago. It's been ignored completely and new client versions have not fixed it. Out of the 2 years I've been playing dayz it is the most annoying and game breaking bug yet, I just simply can no longer tolerate it.

Let me correct your ignorant assumption. Yes I'm on the right steam version, which has nothing to do with anything. The mod runs the same way on 103718 through 125548, I've played them all. The server in my sig is there for advertisement. I play on 125548 and latest steam. We've all been "dealing with it" for months and it's not even the ridiculous zombie hit range and 3 shot ko's that annoy us, it's the game breaking exhaustion bug which should've been top priority for a fix. No sense in playing an hour just to get knocked down and railed by zombies in the open cause I run like 2 mph to the nearest barn. Brb while I delete your keylog screen capture h4x that determines my steam version.

Just hopped onto a 125548 server and the exhaustion bug is still there. Not sure what sort of magic meth your server is on.

Vanilla was pretty active with 1.8.0.3 however due to the broken-ness of 1.8.1 it died out quick. Hopefully it will revive itself when 1.8.2 is released and the game resumes to be properly playable. -
It was perfectly fine at 250. It still IS hard to get a hero skin. The hardest part about the hero skin is that one mistake can set you back a thousand or a couple thousand humanity, which is where the challenge in hero is. It rewards consistent humanity gain, and at 25 it is far too low.

Is terrible. I see people with DMR's everywhere yet I've hit the barracks like 20 times in 1-2 days and the best I've gotten is 1 SVD with 2 mags. Do DMR's even spawn there anymore?

I've tried 103718, 112555, and now I currently (or was) playing on 124879 and the bug was on all versions. The bug is still present on 124879 and always has been since 1.8.1. Is that your server in your signature? It's running 125402 which appears in the arma dayz mod client but I don't think any populated vanilla US servers are running that at the moment.

Any Vanilla DayZ Servers Left?

All you have to do is search steam store for "Arma 2: Dayz Mod" and download it. It's around 333mb or so. Update Arma 2 OA in steam if it isn't updated, and enable "Beta -" in the beta tab. Now run "Arma 2: Dayz Mod" from steam, and you should be good to go. Multiplayer has dayz servers in it, or you can connect remotely. This is how to play on servers running 124879. You can still play on servers running lower versions (112555) by launching directly from dayz commander instead.
