that's what I'd like to see.. not really a stat tracker or anything to brag about but just some basic info like how long you stayed alive, how much food/water consumed, how many bandages used and such

most times I wait about 5 minutes to have cooked meat.. pieces range between 50-75%. I use the rag/stick fireplace with 2-3 logs and then 5+ minutes is the longest I've waited. cooked to burnt time is wayyyy too short though.

damn... OP mighta came off a bit harsh or complain-y in his post but followed up by saying he was just curious if there was any accountability on BI's part to finish and polish off the game.. instead he's answered by a bunch of dicks trying to be witty with their snarky comments lol hell I'm curious myself.. i love this game as it is now and have gotten far, far more enjoyment from this game than the $30 it costs. if they came out tomorrow and said "we're done, enjoy!" I'd still be happy.. no complaints from me either..

face it dude.. you expected all kinds of cheers and accolades for what you did. but all you did was glitch/cheat to kill a few campers. camping or being a bandit might be slightly lame tactics but it's in no way a cheat. what you did clearly was cheating.. however you try to justify it lol

I always compared the Z's in dayz to the 28 days later type of infected. I'd just tell myself they have a super slow metabolism which is why they can shuffle around slowly for days and not eat.. but have moments of high speed then get tired, slow down and give up the chase. or how you always hear about some officer putting 5+ rounds into some cracked out ghetto urchin before they went down. I wish we could wound them, take off a leg and watch them crawl around before they bleed out. or gather a whole mess of them in the middle of the city and break their legs. make it some kind of initiation rite having to slow walk through dozens of hobbled Zeds lol

wasn't t written somewhere that it's easy to survive and feed, for now, so that we can stay alive and test the alpha? then later things will be toned down and made more scarce making survival, regeneration and feeding take a lot more effort...

I really don't care if someone wants to spend a half an hour running to a high point, jumping and praying for a closer spawn over and over. hell it takes my friends and I about 15 minutes to group up at the most. if you're pouting about bodies not sticking around for hours and disappearing in ten minutes instead.. big deal lol

they should spawn hunter type things as people have already said... boots, jackets, gloves, knives, rope, matches, splitting axe.. things a hunter would use. any kind of rifle or gun should be a super rare spawn.. who's to say some dude didn't shit himself seeing a couple Z's heading his way and take off running?

they're probably mentioned already, didn't read through all the replies, but the first things I do are dump the battery/flashlight, make rags just in case, don't fuck around with zombies and run straight inland. then search sheds, barns and stables for a melee weapon of any kind till I find an axe. then I can search for food and water with no worry about zombies. after that the only hard or dangerous part is other players lol

last week a long time friend got into dayZ and just the other day got another of his friends, a lady, to start playing. the first time we all get to play together we dealt with kos'ing and the usual crap. it was all taken in stride as part of the game. no one was butthurt over anything.. in fact all of us enjoyed the harshness of the game and accepted the challenge it all offered. around the third or fourth time regrouping and starting over we went deep inland to some of the smaller/medium size towns to stock up. sitting outside of a house sharing/sorting loot (rookie mistake lol) a group of three 20-something (judging from their not quite squeaker voices) surprised us and everyone screamed "friendly! whoa we're cool! friendly!" there was a few moments of talk. but one of us had trouble putting their melee weapon away so tension was rising. and I wouldn't drop my shouldered rifle when this kid was screaming to do so. well my friend gets shot and it's just me and the lady left. as soon as she speaks and says I'm having sound/mic issues and couldn't reply to the not-quite-a-squeaker wanting me to drop my gun they shoot me and start saying shit like "hey look! a waking, talking vagina.. no worry we ain't gonna shoot ya lady, we need your 'services' haha. we gots pussy now boys!" she wasn't offended and laughed it off in a "awww you poor little boys" kind of way. but it makes you wonder what kind of issues these kids have.
