why should the game designers do anything to prevent some guy stuffing a tent? he found it.. it's his stuff.

one lady in our Arma/DayZ group put it very well.. "I play video games to have fun. I live my life in 1st person. playing a video game in 3rd person is enjoyable for me." and I agree. I enjoy 1st person just as much though. love it! but I don't feel I'm at a disadvantage when I play 3rd person servers with friends. tweak the camera a bit, cool. take away the peeking aspect of 3rd person, cool! but to totally do away with it because a few cry babies don't like it is just plain silly.

it's useless arguing that point. it goes over their heads. it is no use explaining that the playing field is level.. all they know is someone got to the roof before they did and can peek over it. they won't adjust their play style to compensate for the fact. it's almost like the hard core 1pp lifers just wanna run willy-nilly trough a town without taking into account that someone might be 3ppeeking over the edge. vegetarian walks into steak house, knowing they serve steak.. and bitching that there's steak being served and their preferred veggie-hut is empty

exactly. if zombies are still a bit glitchy, hitting through walls, from 40 feet away, becoming invisible, agroing from 15 miles away... it's not really unfair, unsportsmanlike or anything of the sort for me to side step, circle and swing. it's a trade off

congrats on your BAMFPC.... but optimization is one of the last things to be done with any game in the making. I'm sure someone with way more knowledge can explain in detail

I enjoy all the open buildings. it's kind of a wtf moment in the mod when you're holding an axe and shotgun but you're stopped by a simple wooden door

when I played with my group it was almost always mil-oriented playing. m4's, ak's, Smersh, camo, combat knives... hardly a civilian piece in anyone's pack. but even then there was always talk of "man I can't wait till.... (base building, horticulture.. real survival shit).. gets here!" we, and I'm sure a lot of other groups, played mil-style because the "zombie apoc survival" game isn't finished yet but there's tons of military gear at hand to use.

come on.. no sever renter is going to set the timer to 12 hours and suicide their server. most would set it 15 minutes max I assume. except maybe a very few. a 12 hour wait is as close to perma death as you can get in this game, for now.

let's just keep it simple. every server admin will have a big red button. when they see offensive racist words being used they hit the button and it immediately sends a signal to the Guardians of Right, the Super Friends Team of obama, jackson & sharpton! who will, in turn, use their super race baiting powers to incite a riot in the offender and/or victim's town and justice will be served and we can all sit back with warm fuzzy feelings. or all of us who are adults can be adults about it and mute the person, ignore them or move away. because honestly it's immature juveniles acting like that and the more you do to prevent it and the more rules you put in place just gives them a bigger kick out of acting like an idiot.
