  1. that's why I was thinking of some of the kit being randomly deleted by the server... would the gamble be worth it to run back for what might or might not be there.. it's kinda funny watching a 4 man team on twitch being held up waiting for their buddy to respawn over and over to get a closer spawn while they waited and run back to them for his m4 and ammo. they couldn't pick up and bring it to him cuz they were all stuffed with their own ammo lol since it's alpha I don't really care either way if we can or can't loot our corpse.. I just hope they come to a reasonable decision before retail.
  2. I went straight back to my body yesterday.. could see my rifle and back pack but couldn't open or interact with anything
  3. I've kind of rethought my original stance on the subject. since you're technically a 'new person' you're not really looting your own body. but since you probably know exactly where you died it's not really immersive to go back and grab all the stuff you had before. maybe if the server randomly deleted half or two thirds of your old kit? it's late I'm sick and that's what my medicated brain came up with
  4. because you're not the same character... you're a fresh new survivor... new person. deal with it or quit it :)
  5. the fake kos made me laugh., bangbangpowbangzingbangpow lol

    Loot grinding

to me it's not a grind at all.. it's a scavenger hunt, I have a list of items that I 'need' and the rest is extra. at the moment I'm playing Nice Guy and dropping open cans of food/water for freshies. I won't carry a rifle or m4 because most people associate players along the coast with those weapons as bandits or assholes.. so I keep a sawed off 12 or a pistol in my pack as defense. the only time it's been a grind is finding a damn clip! it's the only time I've really server hopped trying to find one.

    Achievements

who cares how someone else plays the game. people are out for themselves anyway so what if a little box pops up on your screen?... enjoy it or ignore it but don't cry like a baby screaming "this ain't tha place for them things!!" if it gets more people playing.. great. if it helps populate servers.. great.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

part of what makes this game fun is the unknown... is that fully geared dude coming down the road towards you friendly or not? should your newly spawned character hide in the bushes or take a chance and step out into the road? I enjoy helping new spawns.. sometimes I'll grab all the tuna I can carry and drop them on the road near spawns. but then there's times you just get pissed off at them... was helping a freshie that was being chased by 3 zombies.. killed them and turned around to ask if he needed anything.. just in time to see him sitting down in the log out pose.. whacked him a few times till he went unconscious and left him alive to log.. there is no pure hero or pure bandit
  9. alright.. had a couple days to really play the game and mess with the zombies... they don't seem to be too OP honestly their speed... zig-zag for a bit and they fall behind and give up (except for the 3 light year LOS/agro issue) but now you can't simply clear a few of them out of a town and loot risk free.. gotta be sneaky and watch out for new spawns. once you have a decent starter weapon (pitchfork, fire/splitting axe or garden hoe) they're easy to take out. other than the clipping/los/agro/close respawn issues they're not that bad.. and the fact that they destroy your shit real quick just make rags ASAP when you spawn and keep a good supply of them on hand. loot carefully and expect one to always be behind you or right around the next corner lol it does seem that if you have your weapon out and ready they agro a lot more often but maybe that's just me lol
  10. "swan of shotgun" lol awesome
  11. they are a threat now. good! and they are scary. good! and they're fast. good! they can climb stairs. awesome! all fun stuff but! they can see you and start running from 20 miles away. not good! you chop one down and turn the corner of a building and there it is again 10 seconds later. not good! you're on the second floor, in a room, alone, and they attack from below. not good. they can see through walls. not good. I like the idea someone mentioned about them spawning out in the country side and wandering towards towns. I was in the middle of a field.. finally stopped to fight the two that we're following me.. right after they died one more popped up instantly within spitting distance.. kills the game for me. it should be hard and should be scary.. but it's overkill now. a nice balance would be perfect.

    Invisible zombies

was about 1/3 of the way inland from the coast yesterday.. lost and following any random road looking for a town so I could check the map and get my bearings again.. the whole time I'm hearing a zombie right next to me snarling and growling every couple minutes. I scanned everywhere each time I heard it but didn't see a damn thing.. I spotted one of the cities and made my way down the hill then heard a shuffling, stomping sound... turned around and there was that bitch in the skirt right behind me lol
