so, i recently picked up dayz. love the game, got staying alive and fighting zombies down, got shot an few times, and am now looting balotta(as it seems you only spawn east now, and everyone rushes off to the northeast airfield now, and lumbermill and area's around it are camped with snipers.) now, however, i am in need of an weapon. i picked up an m4 and small magazine, but it and its attachments are pretty damaged, and have only about 40 bullets for it. i already ahve an magnum with the speedloader and fnx with magazine to keep people like me(decently fed and geared with backpacks ect. but mean no real harm) off my back, but really cant do anything against the well geared bandits that hunt players and are pretty much completly geared. so, im now wondering about what i should get as my main weapon should i have an choice. im really not sure what would be best in my case. im not planning on sniping fresh spawns and people gearing up, but also dont want to be an sitting duck should someone try and snipe me. an m4 seems pretty strong for fighting in cities and large towns, but would leave me defenceless out in the open(and considering im going to link up with an friend at devil's castle or stary zobor to loot the northwestern airfield and search the north for helicopter crash sites thats going to be an issue). the SKS seems an good alternative(decent range for all but very long range snipers, semi automatic for midrange battles in cities, while in close combat i use my magnum or fireaxe, and to top it off i found a few hundred ammo for it in balotta and cherno). so, considering my sitiuation, what would you people advice me for weapon and possible attachments? i have truly no clue in how well i value these guns, especially since i havent got the faintest idea how it works with bullet drop ect.
