I see what you're saying. If today was day 1 of the early release on stream would you buy it, jump in and say yes this game has potential or would you say nope, this game sucks, it's going to go nowhere, I want my money back. Yes I would see the potential. Most would still complain about the zombies clipping and hit zones. The dayz mod players including myself would be drooling over the new towns and areas. Cold/hot is too hard if we're just jumping into it....cold. Pun intended I think? Oh yeah, and the mod people who immediately spawn in and run to NEAF or Balota to gear up and PVP will be piiisseeedddddd! And still we'd hear, "When are vehicles coming!?!?"

A few more tent spawn locations and persistence on all servers would be good if we could see what server we're on when we are on it so I know where I'm stashing my gear. :) Tomato plants? Just to try it.

I mostly just gear up and then try to survive without killing unless provoked. One time though I ran the whole circle of the map in a few days, was fully pristine and geared. A fresh spawn came running by me with 2 zombies chasing him. I told him to stop running so I could get a clear shot at the zombies to help him. He stopped...I helped him back to a spawn point. I told him he crossed my line of sight. Sorry dude.

Was it the ladder that killed you though or the fact that you were completely exposed, attached to the side of a building for 30 seconds while your character logs out or the fact that when you log out you stand up no matter what position you are in and fell off? No one will ever know but it's one of those. Anyone killed an idle dude on a ladder lately?

Right now with attachments and bayonets it actually takes less space to have your gun all assembled as it just takes up the gun slot instead of precious backpack space. Same with fireplace kits and stones and stuff like that. Right now it's better all together but I suppose one day it might be implemented but then they would need to change how the whole storage/tetris grid works so I can't see it happening any time soon.

I think the OP doesn't know something about how they work. Now correct me if I am wrong but crash sites are dynamic and there is only 3 per server. That means every time a server restarts they move to any number of spawn spots, not the same place every time. I saw the numbers somewhere but there is like over 100 different options on where they could spawn? Just going from memory as I can't find the post about it but I seem to recall this is how it works.

Weird question. You're dead so I think a broken leg is the least of your problems. Haha. I'm not sure there's a way to tell unless you or someone else gets to your body before it disappears in 10 minutes and checks if all the gear in your pants is ruined.

Yes I agree. It's cheaper now then it will be in full release but they've already said if you buy the early access you won't pay more. The games probably not done for a year and a half or 2 years so just keep the same steam account and the game's yours forever. Also though perhaps we can help you with adjusting your in game settings? The game isn't optimised yet so most computers are having issues with one aspect or another.

If you're looking for chickens though forget it!

May I suggest another poll option? Who just gears up with whatever crap clothes and guns they can find, eats and drinks to full green and then pvp's without a thought or even knowledge of how to do the survival aspects. Straight to number 1 with a bullet! Great poll though. :)

Oh not really though. Unless you've spent the time to repair a whole truck, stash it somewhere and hope no one finds it, spawn near it and then drive back to your body. More likely it will be like the mod where you'll need friends in the same server who can pick you up. I kind of miss, (And also don't miss at all!) the phrase, "can I get a pick up?" Time will tell how they implement it all though.

Yeah, I'm confused too. The only way you can play the Standalone is through Steam and it auto updates when there's a new version. Although there are 2 different branches, experimental and stable. Is that it?

So many times I say this that I should just copy and paste it. ;) We are testing an unfinished game. Yes they're broken. If the devs just make it so they stop causing damage then how do we test if to find out how to fix it? Yes they can get through SOME doors still, but not all of them anymore. (I say from experience less than half now.) That's because the private, experimental and then stable branch tests them, reports it and the devs then recode it to fix it. (Or fix one thing that may negatively affect something else that was unforeseen.) This is the nature of software testing. If you don't want to be a tester go buy a $100 PVP game and come back to this in a year and a half.

Eat and drink. Get to bright green and healing. It takes some time so no pvp for you for a bit. Go hunt an animal....but don't get to close to the fire!

Yes, priority right now for me as a fresh spawn is axe or machete and chop kindling or search the forest floor. Need it for a fire too. I also tear anything I can find into rags and store them in different pockets. OP, you said you were walking up stairs but were you or were you running? I have always walked up ANY stairs and with 200 hours I have never snapped a femur. (Now I know it's going to happen next time I log I. For sure!) just a theory of mine but anyone else find walking is better?

No offence and don't take this as directed at you in particular. I kind of think this is how most of those, "When are we going to get vehicles?" people think. Just because they're planning on adding one vehicle at some point soon doesn't mean all if a sudden we are in Beta. The new vehicle is going to need to be tested in Alpha. Not only that, the tires, wrenches, toolbox, engine parts, gas tank and whatever they decide to implement to get a car working will need to be tested and I guarantee they will be broken for a while. That's the nature of testing. Then what about the gas stations. Are they ready to fill you up yet? Have gas cans been mentioned in any dev blogs or tweets or weekly updates? When a vehicle finally arrives I think we're going to see a huge upswing in players again....then we're going to see a huge upswing of people on the forums saying, "waaaa they're broken, screw you Dayz this game is shit! Then we can get back to testing these new things. Which is what we are doing. Beta and the beginning of 2015 is still 4 to 6 months away.
