It is a post apocalyptic setting, finding food should be hard. I have been playing this game since january, never really had problems finding food as long as you move away from the coast. Especially now, food is way too easy to come by. -
So the name cheraurus and the borders of the map are fictional, but towns and items and even terrain is based on real life, can we agree on that?

So you are saying names of towns found in dayz are purely fictional, and they DO NOT exist in real life just like mordor doesnt exist

Sobor, nadezhdino, komarovo etc are all real places set in russia and rest of eastern europe, So pls tell me how its fictional like mordor

I thought we were talking geographical and items found in the game. In yugoslavia we didnt drink kvass, we had rakija.But like i said if it bothers u so much that this is eastern europe and mainly russia, there is always ISS and h1z1

The only fictional thing in dayz is name chernaurus, everything else is real. From most town names to kvass. Everything points to eastern europe, mainly ukraine and russia.Warz doesnt use true american towns, but its clearly based in usa, so if people are offended or find it hard to understand the alphabet, perhaps they can play warz/ISS.

Lucky for you there is h1z1 coming out soon.Why does it bother so many people that this game is based on russia? If it was a down town usa would players be saying its fictional, probably not.

It would be nice if they started something like this, rather than just find food, eat it. combining foods like vegetables and meat, to make a proper lunch that will fill you, but also keep you busy getting ingredients. -
I think besides alpha warning on start up screen, they also need to add, "this isn't Arma game, this isn't a war game, this is a survival game, if you can't find a certain item, that just means we are doing a good job"You want a scope and full army gear, go and play Arma or Cod or another among hundreds of pvp shooters, please don't try and turn this game into just another shooter.

You didn't read rest of the posts did you?Hats and items are 3d artists and modellers responsibility. New towns are just duplicates of other buildings seen in chernaurus. All these already have prefabs, so it's a simple drag and drop. Just because they have issues with game engine and scripting, they shouldn't stall everything else. So broken zombies aren't hats fault. -

This is so true, everyone wants to turn dayz into their "perfect" game, which is usually what they already play and own. I just want a zombie survival game, is that too much to ask. -
I think making the game harder will unfortunately only encourage more cheaters.

Some people server hop, some go crazy looting all military barracks, some just cant be f****d to do any of this, so they just cheat. But the thing they all have in common is GUNS, GUNS, AMMO, MORE GUNS AND MORE AMMO.As long as this game is pvp allowed there will be hackers, anti cheat or not. For the record im not asking this game to be pve

Ha ha this is exactly how i feel. Most of the times, i see the player, i make sure they see me, i wave. We are both fully geared, surely he wont shoo..... BANG, "you are dead". And i think next time i wont be so friendly, i take one step as a fresh spawn, BANG "you are dead".

I'm happy with spawn points as they are, at least it's not the coast only anymore.At the moment, it's weapon spawning places that draw players. That's what most dayz players are after, guns, guns and more ammo for those guns. It's all about pvp, same goes for all games I have played, ISS, dayz, 7d2d, stomping land etc. pvp simply takes over, even in games like 7d2d where there is so much to do, even where zombies are a threat, pve servers aren't 100% guaranteed either -
Dayz Standalone is lacking a huge core piece in my eyes.

Well when/if they add thousand zombies, you won't be able to run to the nearest army barracks, police station to get weapons, you won't be able to just run to every house and loot it. Our gameplay will have to change, probably to the point where co-operating with a stranger is more useful than just shooting them. -

Well moving around from barracks to barracks and server changing while complaining there are no players to kill, what exactly didnt i read? OP admitted they went on a looting rampage at military bases and airfields, im sure it wasnt for apple picking now was it? There is more to this game than just pvp and airfields. -

I meet people and there are only 5 in server. Perhaps after you looted the barracks you dont immediately server hop, you will encounter someone. People have finally started playing this game properly, so they dont all hang around barracks so you and your friends can kill them either. Guns and ammo can be found all over chrnaurus, players have moved from coast -
