Hackers ruining the game lately, BIG TIME

Sad thing is the hackers make more money than the actual developers, selling cheats and releasing free versions of games.

What to do when I first spawn...

Tried and tested by me. Do not bother looking at houses on coast where u spawn, waste of time and most likely run into a zombie, who for some reason will make you bleed as soon as they hit you, and you will not be able to find a rag or shirt to tear into bandage. And when you are able to find bandage, zombies never make you bleed , not sure why, could be a bug. You can last for a long time without food, in the mean time find a well and drink heaps. Good luck

    Being followed across cyberspace

I had a similar problem, i logged on a server with a single player ( will not post his user name), i left that server for another due to red counting msg, went onto another server, and he was there again, hard to miss due to his name preference. And he just happened to be in the same spot as me , he killed me, not sure if just a freaky coincidence or something else

Impossible to be "Friendly" in this game. Resorted to Banditry.

So there is no title in the game, its just what people prefer to be called. 90% so called heroes are most likely bandits. In that case im a bloody superhero, as i havent killed anyone ha ha.

Impossible to be "Friendly" in this game. Resorted to Banditry.

Quick question, how do u know which player is a bandit, and which isnt?

Impossible to be "Friendly" in this game. Resorted to Banditry.

I too have gone kos. I dont mind getting killed while exchanging fire, but when you take corner and someone just kills you, it's just pisses me off. So yes my gun is drawn always as well, waiting to shoot anything that moves.

    The "Zombie Threat"

They do have vaccines as loot, so contracting a disease from zombie could be a future thing, I still say leave as they are just add more of them

    Make DayZ more intense/more thoughtful

I think they need to make the zombie top predator of the game, atm you have about 4-5 per smaller towns, add 20 more, 3 or 4 grouped together, make the ammo rare, and you have solution, that one bullet you had and you wasted it on a player for a rotten kiwi, next time you will think twice about being a Rambo.

Solution to children crying game ez too easy.

These types of games will always be glitchy, therefore one hit by zombie and you die is not a very good idea, just look at infestation. It's hard to complain about anything in this game as it's alpha, but don't be surprised if zombies stay as they are even in finished game.

    What next?

I posted the same topic few days ago, and like you, I also have no idea what to do. Zombies aren't a real threat, so yes this game is quickly becoming shoot 'em up rather than a survival game. And after writing the above , I log on only 1 player on server, and guess what, he just happened to be in the same building. I was very careless and just running around, the odds of him being in the same are we're very small. He just decided to shoot, I fell unconscious, only to wake up to see him putting a bullet in my head. So yes this game isn't a survival game, just another shooting game. Perhaps if there weren't much bullets going on around, maybe we could have traded and gone our separate ways. If I wanted a shooting game, I would be playing call of duty, I'm here for a survival game, and at the moment it isn't.

Concretely: what differs the pro from the noob?

I would say there is no difference, it's up to the player, and not the game, some people just have a feeling for the game, no matter how much time they have played. I have played dayz for days now and I still freeze when I come across another player. I haven't played much shooting or online games, so that's probably why.
  12. If you paid money for dayz, then you bought standalone version and do not need arma. Since you have bought arma titles, it doesn't hurt to download dayz mod, which is free. I think this mod is actually fully playable unlike standalone version

    Morale

Actually morale when staying alive, is just as important, as food and water, just ask bear grylls. Carrying a picture of a loved one or lightning a simple fire can mean a difference between loosing it and staying alive. And being surrounded by death and decay, morale would play a big part in real life.

    My First Few Hours

I would find a well, drink water, and run inland, don't bother searching coast houses, they only have rotten kiwis, go into smaller towns, look for store named ZVEZDA (meaning star, although I think it's spelt in Russian Cyrillic so it would resemble 3Be3da) if loot is fully spawned you will have no problems finding food backpacks drinks even an axe. Once u have enough food, find a petrol station, some contain maps. Then head to the airport, make sure you play low population server no more than 5 players, at the airport you will find more guns than u can carry. Good luck

    A collection of my ideas/suggestions.

Agree on socks completely, it would make it much more realistic, your choice, carry a wrong bullet calibre or dry pair of shoes, can of food or dry shoes

    Cannibalism

Why resort to cannibalism only to have to find a vaccine to treat the disease you contracted. Much easier to find a can of tuna then a vaccine

    Wolves, Bears and Wild Boars

Chuck norris could take on a bear with only a can opener. I would swear i thought i saw a fox in dayz run in front of me, i ran to see what it was but couldnt find anything

    Pre-recorded voice

For people without mics, how about few prerecorded voice options such as: -Anyone here? -Got any food/ drinks? -Do you need food/drink? -Yes -No -Pls dont shoot etc.... Also i know you can find books,( not sure if you can read them) how about comic books?
  22. ld-airgrafix

    Pre-recorded voice

Ha ha do you really want to be talking to me and listen to two little kids screaming in the background.
  23. ld-airgrafix

    "more apocalyptic" towns, maps.

Dont expect to see scenery quality of Last of Us, in dayz. Last of us is made by a a big company

    Communities

I would like to see communities implemented somehow, maybe have safe zones where players can communicate, without fear of getting killed. Pick a chore, such as food scavenging, hunting or even protecting a wall from zombies, would def like to see hordes of zombies in large groups. Once the chore is done reward could be bullets for your weapon. Rather than have pvp there would be community vs community. Make guns and bullets rarer to find. Maybe even raid or infiltrate communities.

    Communities

These are my thoughts as well , and maybe once the game is completed we will be able to build forts rather than just little huts, but would a map be big enough for every player who wants to start a community? Also I read somewhere that we will be able to barricade doors and windows of already existing houses, not sure but this could lead to a community of houses.
