How about for realism purpose, we all cary personal id. Could be attached to our inventory. In real life we all carry some form of id, drivers licence etc. So when being held up or dead, other players can see our name. Also you shouldnt be able to change your name at start screen

Mate we are not dissussing difference between normal and post apoc. settings. Im saying food and shelter are top priority, you are saying finding weapons is.

I read elsewhere that this was a glitch and not a hack. Maybe someone else can confirm this

Watched another video, and he talked about adding blood on hands while looting dead bodies, if they finish this game with all the promises intact, i really dont see why anyone would need to buy another game ever

"What good is food if you get killed" wow. You can go years without killing anyone, coming across anyone, especially in an apocalyptic scenario where population has be decimated. I didnt want to resort to google but just type in "basic human needs to survive" believe me its not a vehicle with machine guns ha ha. Nor is it any kind of weapon. Even in the game, your first priority is food.

An apocalypse is an apocalypse whether its zombies or bandits or aliens. Food and shelter are the basic needs to survive, in any scenario whether its apocalyptic, war or normal. You can survive any apocalypse without ever finding a weapon or killing a single zombie, but you cant survive without ever eating. Dont you agree?

You think you should kill zombies then eat and drink, my friend you are way off as what survival is about. Food and water are your basic needs, not killing zombies in flying cars with supersonic guns.

The reason I will say yes to this, is because, the other day, I was at full health, zombie charged me once, and I got the "you are dead". Now I was on the outskirts of a larger coast city, so I'm not sure whether I was killed by a player or not, I did not hear a gunshot. If I was killed by a zombie, it would have definetly been a glitch, which I could report to devs, to fix it. Since I have no idea I can't do anything about it. The no reason would be realism, so maybe just have, " killed by zombie" and " killed by player".

Ok fair enough, srgt.pepper and Geckofrog clearly want modern technology, my question is why??? Why do you want to have an easy survival athmosphere? Put those cars and guns in and few days later everyone will have one , zombies will become even more useless, just run them over and all the fighting will be done from out of cars, might as well remove all the melee weapons as they will only slow down the game as no one will bother using them. It will become a driving simulator, so might as well remove rain, tiredness, running, no one will be bothered using their feet. While we are at it, give us nuclear weapons, super laser guns, robocops as pets. When will it stop

I saw just now some arma custom maps on you tube, never really thought this was possible with online games, are they playable for everyone? Have fun on holidays

Dayz is not Arma. It is a standalone game that uses the same game engine as arma. They are two different games, one is a war game, the other a survival game. Do you get it?

I'm not quite sure I understand, but are you asking to be able to make a map and be able to import it into dayz to play it?Something like this is not possible. If you are still interested, you could download cryengine, it's a free download, game engine. There you can make a terrain to suit you, you can also place premade baddies and play it. It's not as easy as I made it out to be but If you are willing to learn you could make a decent game

Well this isn't arma, and believe it or not, petrol stations need to be refilled everyone and then, and when the whole world is in upheaval who will refill them? "Humvees", "marines", you know this game's setting is Russia and Eastern Europe, not USA.Why would you want all that technological stuff anyway, it's cowardly to be miles away and press a button and heaps of explosions occur. I want to sneak up to you and slice your throat,or silently put a arrow in your belly, that's fun, and surviving. Go and play Arma, COD and all other war game teens play

Alphadogmeat, summarised it for you perfectly, it would be a waste of time to even explain to you that this is a survival game.

Rule no 1 to all newbies. DO NOT look for food on coast, when you spawn even though you are hungry you will have enough time to run inland stumble on a town and find so much food. The further inland you go the more you find, remember if you find items like knives, bayonets or hacksaws, take them because they can also open canned food. Once you have spare food then look for weapons in barracks.

War is different to post apocalyptic setting. Usually in war, petrol, food, donations, and especially guns and ammo are poured in by other countries, illegaly and legally. Post apocalyptic means, the whole world is f**ked, so if you think it's wise to supercharge your vehicle in times when petrol barely exists! you are wrong. The farthest I would like to see cars go is blocking windows with sheets of metal and such. Honestly I couldn't care if they ever add cars at all, they are not needed and if I was in a real life situation, I would much rather save that petrol to run a generator, keeping basic needs running such as stove, or a heater in winter. Survival game is about making it as tough as possible to live. Food and water should be the top priority, keeping zombies away, not kos'ing other players for fun. So if you think having twin machine guns added to you turbo supra, with a lime green paint job, music blaring is survival, oh boy are you in a wrong game

Petrol is in short demand, so gas guzzlers would be out of question. Besides this is a survival game not a war game.

I think alot of people are forgetting this is a survival game, not a war game. I would prefer handmade traps, maybe bear traps. Land mines are ok but im too scared they would be in abundance

I dont want kos gone, otherwise so much for survival aspect if the game. Once more features are implemented, it will reduce on its own, people will be to busy hunting and gathering, that the poor camping kos'ers will be sitting there for hours wondering where everyone is.

I dont know whats worse, people posting threads about zombie glitching, hackers etc, while just couple of threads below exactly the same post, or people who just go to those posts to write "its alpha". I can even understand the first, they dont want their question or opinion lost on 4th page of someone elses thread.

Try running and pressing v repeatedly at the same time, or try running and pressing space bar repeatedly at the same time. Hopefully you will glitch through something

Ok, might as well use this thread as my question is about servers and i dont want to use precious internet space or even worse get people telling me to use search function. I have only really played 2 online games before ISS and Dayz. Age of Conan and Lotro, two different games to zombie bashers but still online games. Now lotro, if you wanted to retrieve your character you always had to go to the same server, and play there, so my question is why are dayz servers so f**king sensitive, while fantasy games which contain much much much bigger maps and have hundreds of players at same time, arent?
