Anyone getting bored of Standalone?
ld-airgrafix replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Me too. 7dtd is so much fun right now, building my base underground, im making mines of moria. I want dayz to be realistic, but is it too realistic ? I dont think adding cars or helicopters will solve anything, for me 7dtd is fun because of base building, and trying to find ways to hide my entrance from other players. Zombies are slower but still a threat. -
Could have been a sniper.
-
All that requires extra animations, and loot dissapears after 10 min anyway, i dont really think its something thats needed. However if the games performance wasnt affected by it, i think it would be ok to have it.
-
Its a great idea, also when hotwiring a car, it should take at least a minute to start it, enough time to gather zombies around. It should definetly be "is it worth risking my life taking that car?" situation. Im not a big fan of any vehicles, however cars are on their way, so please make them rare, and all should be in such a bad shape it would take a long time to repair it?
-
I thought you could catch rain in bottles and canteens?
-
Even at full server the map is empty. Unless you go to hotspots like army barracks, airfields or coast, you will hardly meet someone anywhere else. The map is big enough
-
Last time i checked, the aim of the game is to survive, not die. Did u even think this through before you posted it?
-
Wich vehicles do you want to see in the SA?

People are lazy to run even in a virtual world. -
im not sure upcoming features are "positive" to the game

The guy wants champagne and caviar, not pipsi and beans. Would you like a limousine sir, so you don't have to walk and run. -
Im up for this, dont want anything supernatural (i know, stupid thing to say in a zombie game), but maybe just noises, kids laughter. Maybe have trigger areas, when u walk in, a figure could pop up in a distance or something. Voices would be the best option.Whatever is used, shouldnt affect our gameplay, ie cant kill us.
-
Whole chernaurus is like that.
-
On the topic of spawning, i also think places where certain items spawn should be implemented, for example tools like crowbars, axes, spanners, should be spawning in sheds and garages, not kitchens. Maybe introduce gun safes rather than just have them lying around on shelves. Looting shouldnt be random, if we need food, look in kitchens, if you need an axe, shed and so on

I have given dayz a break for now, same reason, hate being killed by camping bandits, or little brats who dont even attempt to communicate. I decided to try 7 days to die, and i have probably clocked more hours in a week than i did 4 months of dayz. Its just so much more fun to play with alot more content than dayz. Even with shittier graphics, and glitches. Zombies are alot more truer to the original meaning of a zombie, and even being slower and easier to kill than dayz zeds, they are still more of a threat due to their numbers. At night they act like dayz sprinters and thats when this game becomes awesome, they actually hunt you, even on easiest setting, you get yourself to shelter boy, or you will die. With all the crafting and base building this game offers, its easy to spend hours playing without ever getting bored or complaining about glitches. I dont even care how unrealistic it is, when it comes to crafting. All this on single player mode. Multiplayer serves are shocking, worse than dayz. And since your character is bound to that server, unable to log in for days kind of sucks. And players are just as bad as dayz, they still want to kill you for no reason. Both games are alpha, so dont bitch to me how dayz is alpha. Overall, dayz will be a better game for me when its finished , as i look for realism. Although who knows what 7DTD, will end up like. Right now its lot more fun

Because this isnt a war game, its a survival game. Devs have often said, this game will be authentic, but i dont think they know what authentic post apocalyptic world is. In real life if something like this was to occur, petrol wouldnt be used as a luxury, by flying a helicopter around. Most likely be used as fuel for a generator to run your appliances such as heaters during winter. To cook your food, etc. it would be a miracle to find bullets for high powered guns, most likely find double barreled shot gun ammo, not m4 or ak-47. And even the bullets you do find, wouldnt be used on other people for fun, but hunting. So if you or devs think its authentic to have rpg in the game, i might be playing the wrong game, ha ha. Can you imagine what cheaters with hacks would do with unlimited rpg ammo?
-
Thats my point, because everyone spawns at coast, and everyone else come back to coast once heavily armed, you will never be able to find enough food there. You must move inland to survive, but as soon as you are 2 min inland, you are safe. Thats when the game gets boring
-
Maybe we need to have more players per server, think 40 is max. I would just like to see players using more of rest of the map. At the moment you can freely run the whole map except the coast, and airports (anywhere where there is guns spawning). I have been playing since january this year, and have only come across 2 players deep inland, zelenogorsk but only because it also has an army base.
-
Ha ha true, then the devs will have to give zombies the wings (there is talk of changing pipsi to red bull) to be any threat
-
Sorry seems like we are misunderstanding each other, the only reason i mentioned rpg, is because how else would you bring a helicopter down, who just happens to be blowing the crap out of your base with machine guns, i dont want rpg or helicopters in a game. Small civillian ones are ok as long as they dont pose a threat to players bases. But even those little ones arent really needed, unless they make the map 2-3 times bigger. What i dont want to see is helicopters everywhere and everyone having one.
-
What is your problem with Steam, maybe some here can help you sort out an issue.
-
This is not a mod, its a standalone SURVIVAL game, not a war game. Why do u want helicopters and other modern warfare weaponry in a world where finding food should be a problem?
-
Have you read an entire thread, there is talk of machine guns on helicopters. Do you think your sks will be able to match that? The game has to be balanced, and how do you bring down a helicopter? Maybe you want a tank, would you like a submarine as well son
-
You are not the only one.If they introduce helicopters, they have to introduce rpg's, and there goes a survival game and hello war game.
-
I think unlimited sprint will be removed, forcing you to trot away from athlet... sorry i meant zombies. Maybe seated position would increase the speed of recovery, but i do not see sleep mode implemented.
-
No, I would rather have a helicopter with machine guns attached to it. That's much, much, much more realistic in a post apocalyptic setting. Who cares if we can't see the arrows, I can't see a hole in my pipsi can when drinking it either. It's a silent weapon that doesn't draw attention. Arrows can be crafted, not magically appear as bullets do.

Hunting- It better be damn hard
ld-airgrafix replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Never really played any hunting games, but 7 days to die has animals to kill for food. Although the whole game itself isnt a true survival game, i find the hunting isnt bad at all. Its impossible to kill any animal with a melee weapon, unless they glitch frozen, happened with bunnies a couple of times. Its very simple hunting, animals sense you, if you sneak they dont sense you as easily. I dont think dayz needs anything too drastic either, a simple sneak or hide and and wait. Apparently wind will affect the bullet path so maybe introduce that as well, need to hunt against the wind so animals dont sense you
