It would have been more fun if they actually needed your equipment such as food or bullets to survive, but hey, just another kos/ war story.
-
Players do leave the coast, but only to get weapons. Once fully loaded, which can take up to an hour of server hopping, players come back to bully freshly spawned players. Even when they implement hunting and other content (if they ever do) I feel it won't change much, the only way is to move spawn points away from coast

Well it just adds to realism of hard survival, although in real life, there would be much more empty mags going on around than ammo. I don't really know why they would not include a mag with a bullet or two already chambered.

[Suggestion] New System of Unconsciousness
ld-airgrafix replied to Sargento Da Paz's topic in Suggestions
Not all players are English speaking. So don't be an ass, and be polite, the guy is trying to reach you in YOUR language, so an ape like you can understand, and hopefully help him. -
No no no no no no no no and no. We want weapons and ammo especially, to be reduced. You are confusing Russia and USA. Also this is a survival game, not a war game. I have a good game for you, Infestation Survivor Stories. Guns galore, and the best part is you can purchase ammo if you don't come across it. That's if you want pvh game, (pvh- players vs hacker), but if you want survival game, dayz has promised to be it, stick around, but please don't ask for MORE ammo.

It's been established that they aren't actually zombies but rather infected humans in a zombiefied state, hence their super athletic abilities. Also apparently servers can't handle too many infected, so I don't think we will see hordes seen in state of decay or even 7DTD, but they want to introduce unauthentic survival items such as helicopters and tanks to clutter up the servers. Zombies seen in State of Decay, 7dtd and even walking dead, are more accurate depictions of the original zombie, only threat when in large numbers.

The land of 1000 corpses - a story of looting
ld-airgrafix replied to massacrorBKK's topic in Suggestions
Good ideas, and I'm assuming they will be in the game once it's finished, but with lack of and, waiting for months for few useless updates it's hard to say what will be in the final product and what won't. -
please tell me rocket wont be adding horror aspect to the game
ld-airgrafix replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
Ha ha funny you should mention 7dtd. When i first started playing it, that "sshhhhh" noise, sounds exactly like my 3yo son. I even got up to make sure he wasnt playing a trick on me. -
This thread is an example of how easy this game is. The only role play you should be doing is surviving. Not creating a back story for your character.

Agree, i too want 24 hour server, but they need to adjust the hunger/thirst accordingly as well. I play on an average 1-2 hours and in that time i have to drink and eat at least couple of times.

We are in Q2 now.

We have never been told when dayz takes place or even if zombies are resurrected dead or just infected rabid humans. All we know its a post apocalyptic setting. Its hard to tell by the surroundings, as houses made out of wood are still in good shape, but cars are completely rusted. What do you see as a post apocalypse? To me its the movie "the road". I would love to see dayz at this stage. Lack of food, clean water. To me, 5 bullets in my sks should mean surviving another week or not, and to find a full clip would be a commodity. Acquiring cars and/or helicopters should take hours and hours, not 30 min of server hopping. I would like to die from starvation or zombies for once, and not always other players

What stage of post apocalypse is dayz at
ld-airgrafix replied to ld-airgrafix's topic in General Discussion
I really hope they reduce food, weapons etc. introducing cannibalism to current state is pointless. The only time you actually feel like you are in post apoc. world is when you are a fresh spawn. I remember once I was debating whether to eat a rotten orange as I was almost starved to death. It had a "the road" feeling to it, unfortunately it doesn't last as 1/2 later I was fully equipped ready to take on a small army. -
Probably been discussed before, but maybe it would be better to move spawning points to opposite ends of the maps. Main reason, it will force players to move inland rather than just camp on the outskirts of beach towns. Even hunting and base building wont solve the "99% of action is on coastline". The main problem i see with my idea is orientation, so it would be good to start of with 1 item of food. And maybe a basic map and/or compass. This brings me to another idea, even though i like the "if you want the map, find it", its become kind of an obsolete item, as everyone just uses online maps, maybe a map should be built into our inventory.

What stage of post apocalypse is dayz at
ld-airgrafix replied to ld-airgrafix's topic in General Discussion
But if we knew, we could have more realistic suggestions. I mean if the outbreak only happened, we shouldn't complain about so much food around and same goes for ammo, but that rules out the survival part of the game, and it becomes a zombie shooter game that requires some eating and drinking. If it's been years, then food and ammo should be very rare. -
I'm Serbian by nationality, so I can read the Russian Cyrillic, some letters aren't the same as English alphabet. But agree with you, even though it adds authenticity to the game, it can be a problem for most player base

That's probably why the devs tend to not give a story line or any info, but on the other hand they brag about making dayz authentic, authentic to what? -

ld-airgrafix replied to ld-airgrafix's topic in General Discussion
The date and time this takes place not only has an effect on how you or I play, it has an effect on the game itself.First few weeks of an outbreak, stores would still have food, there would be plenty of fuel left. Heaps of bullets could be found in gun stores etc Year in and stores would be empty only a hidden can or two might be found, most abandoned cars would have been syphoned. Two years in, some people would be reduced to cannibalism and only larger communities or groups would have some fuel and bullets left Ones the world stops, so does the production of goods. Take a look at the size of your neighbourhood compared to amount of shops there are. Without fridges all food will rot. So you see it makes hell of a difference. -

Oops i was way off on the title. Thanks for clearing that up. So we have established they are living breathing infected humans, in a zombified state. -

So if they are not dead, that means they arent zombies, therefore the "Z" needs to be removed from the title of the game -
Trading or currency is done by kos. This is why we need safe trading place where you cant kill another player or pve servers Crafting items would come in handy, say you need spare tyre and cant find it anywhere, you would trade some of your bullets for it. Atm all would happen is a bullet to the head, no trading
-
I understand its supposed to be realism, but thats gone down the drain when it comes to maps and talk functions, as 99% players use web maps and team speak clients .

Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
ld-airgrafix replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
Well the game is very playable so i think it was a good idea. Not much to do but good to explore the map and get used to the controls -
Why do people need to brand themselves a tag? Just because someone is a hero one day and gives beans to someone, it doesnt mean he wont blow somebody's brains the next day, for no reason. Perhaps dayz should pinch infestation's method of tagging players by their actions. Never killed anyone, you were tagged a civilian. Kill enough civilians and you were tagged a bandit, kill enough bandits, you became a sheriff.

What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
ld-airgrafix replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
Everything you complained about is "hopefully" due to game being alpha. I agree certain things should be worked on immediately, especially zombies glitching through walls.
