    It way too early to be talking about h1z1 and its quality. Although its not too hard to make a better survival game than dayz, h1z1 could be completely ruined by hackers if we look at planetside2. Even ISS is more of a survival game than dayz, if you take out hackers and the ingame store. Yes dayz has the potential to be the best, but by the time it is finished in another 2-3 years, bigger and better games will be released. But back to the topic, i dont see why we cant have names of players we befriend in the game show up above their avatar, when in certain distance from them. There are times i came across friendly players who actually helped, and i would definetly like to know who they are next time i meet them. In real life you would recognise them by their face, voice, height etc. in the game all these featuers are impossible to implement so yes we need some way of recognising them. Stomping land has a similar feature and it works.

    Im not saying it will but what if h1z1 has a knockback system, and mellee weapons actually work. What will dayz fanboys say then?

    This is so true ha ha, glad I'm not the only one. I carried one arrow for days, as soon as I decided its a waste of space, I come across a bow. If I had an option to smash that bow against a wall I would have done it

    Completely agree with you, after watching few stream videos from dean, and the content it was going to have, i thought "wow fuck any other game, dayz will be all you need for a survival game". However half a year gone, no new content or bug fixes, absolutely nothing to say yes i can see this game progressing. And as soon as someone questions this, they are put down by a bunch of fanboys "its alpha" or "go and play..." are most common answers. As for bullett physics dayz has the worst physics at the moment, hell it has no physics, bullets travel through buildings and terrain, so its fine to claim something but without results these claims are just lies. Food requirements?, starving with a bag full of canned food because i dont have a tool that is common throughout the world. cant find a can opener but can find pristine m4 every corner i take. Including a HUD, has nothing to do with difficulty of the game, zombies, food and amount of weapons spawning are the factors determining difficulty of a zombie survival game

    Why do fanboys always have to say "go play h1z1" . As soon as someone questions dayz, you have no answer but to say "go and play..." . There are plenty of games out there with survival aspect, do you feel threatened by h1z1? I personally don't care about any game, I pay for it, I enjoy it. I do not hold loyalty to any company like sad fanboys. I do not have any hatred to h1z1 ad if it's any good yes I will play it, could be awesome, who knows. While I could be enjoying h1z1 you could still be waiting for hunting, don't know that either. But just because someone has an idea that conflicts yours, don't feel threatened, and the fact that you still think dayz is hardcore survival game, makes you a fanboy, nothing else.

    But just like you don't want one feature, there are others who want it, what makes your argument more valid. It's a survival game not a fun mario kart game. Survival games shouldn't be fun, the forest isn't fun

    Buddy what you want is a hard survival game, most people on this forum claim to want the same, however what they want is cod with an occasional zombie roaming around.

    More Realistic and Time-Consuming Interactions

    Looking through this thread, although i agree with all saying 15min is too long, even a minute is too long in gaming. "Damnyourdeadman" is onto something i believe. Rather than wait for 1 big piece of meat, divide it into smaller pieces and its your choice whether to sit there and carve for 15 or 2 minutes. This choice should also be controlled by z's smelling blood and rushing towards a kill For all the "i would rather loot cans of food" what if they reduced the loot and it could mean your death from starvation? Also with 1 or 2 zombies per town its very easy to loot, server hopping helps as well, but if they had a town full of z's, it would change the way we all play completely.

    I think its quite embarrasing for dayz that a crafting game like 7d2d is more of a survival game. Has anyone actually ever died from a zombie in dayz? I think i did once but not sure it was one of those one hit kill, so more likely a sniper. Bled alot of times even had my rags ruined by a zombie ha ha. How does a zombie ruin rags in a bag without ruining the bag itself ha haha

    Compared to the updates and content in 7d2d, dayz is in pre pre preschool alpha. Just because its alpha it doesnt mean it shouldnt have regular updates.

    I once managed to kill one with a hacksaw in one hit, guess what couldnt repeat it ever again, do you know why, because the damn game is glitchy.

    I'm not saying not to introduce it, I'm just asking why? Give me a good use for a raft and I will be all for it. As a transport tool, I could see this happening if they introduce things like weight and ability to carry more than one bag.

    What would a raft be used for? We don't have large rivers, and the sea is pointless unless they introduce sea fishing, there are couple of Islands, but they are easy to get to.

    We'll realistically you only have one life as well, so where does the realism card stop?Rather than having unbreakable vaults, why not simply store your loot somewhere in woods. In other words loot stays after server restart, as long as it's stored in a bag.

    Yes you are right, with no large backpack or mosin sticking from your back, you are less likely to get killed, however it's damn hard to come across a firearm and not pick it up. I mostly pick up firearms as melle weapons are useless against the infected.
  25. I think you fail to realise that z didn't react only because of a 5.56, but rather because of the raycasting system being used. Z's do not react on sound and you can test this yourself. I had one facing away from me, brick fence in between, I was running up and down, smashing a baseball bat against the fence, it didn't flinch. If chernaurus was flat with no trees or buildings, a z would see you from the other side of the map and run to you, as long as it's raycast line hit you.
