Newb question... I couldnt reload the mosin unless its completely empty. Is that normal? If theres even one shot left it wont let me reload..

This weekend I decided to try this game called dayz sa. My paintball teammates loved the mod so I thought what the heck lets give this thing a whirl. Now I'm a seasoned gamer, played tribes back in the day up to battlefield 4 and everything in between. Im also a semi pro paintball player ...world cup and nppl junkie. That being said I've never felt the emotions this game can induce...from fear to terrified. ..to anger and frustration..to saddness...yup wide range. I digress... I spawn on a low populated server. Wow beautiful, sun shining, birds chirping neato I think. So after looting down in Electro (spelling) I have a mosin,some ammo and food, alls good. I finish off a few zombies that chased me before I had anything to fend them off with. I log off for the evening. In the morning I cant wait to check it out some more. As I log in flash of red and moaning...hmmm..seems I fell and broke my legs. Slowly disbatching zombies as they appear I drag myself from the industrial part of Electro up to the first firestation. Whew..30 minutes of crawling and checking the bottom floors of every building in between. Ooh shit server is full...fear and panic..what do I do!!! As I crawl cautiously I see another new spawn I call out friendly and ask for help..he ignores or doesnt hear me..crap.Am I doomed to die? Suddendly from behind a voice calls out Whatcha need? Scares me half to death. Unsure if this player is going to shoot or axe me..I explain what happened. He has morphine and fixes me right up. Sweet I live! I offer up a yellow case full of food for helping. Its the least I can do. He warns me of a group of 4 running in the area and how he got an uneasy feeling. Thanks guy. As we part ways from the corner of my screen I see movement. Heart races oh shit I think. Running up the stairs of the nearest building I duck and pull my mosin. Maybe they didnt see me. Aww but fate is a cruel bitch. Suddendly 3 armed men bust up the stairs yelling put the f@$#ing gun down. Right cuz thats going to get me to disarm. I have 3 357s pointed at my head all screaming into thier mics. Huh...well im taking one with me IF I go. A SHOT rings out above my head Eeep! Must have been a warning shot. The first guy is screaming still. Put it down then one guys gun clicks..he forgot to reload. This is it...I squeeze the trigger and dump the first guy, now my gun goes click...shit didnt reload. I grab my axe and charge ....blam blam blam... I get a second guy in the face with my axe just before my screen goes black.....you are dead...sigh...least I took one confirmed with me..bastards. My only hope is my hero heard this go down and ran. You sir are a hero and if my death saved you I'm ok with that! Shaken but not out I respawn...in Kamy. Not to far from Electro tho now its getting dark. I run for a bit until 2 people a guy and girl approach me with their flashlights on. Both screaming to drop mine I do hesitantly. Another new spawn comes running up and they stop him too. They get his light as I am told to drop my battery. Hmmm pants now too? No I play stupid asking how, then make a break for it...run forest Run! As I'm running I pass 5 dead bodies one still bleeding..holy crappers they are offing noobs! I sprint far enough to get out of their lights and duck into a bush. They pass by...whew. I watched as they kill a few more. Jerks! I hear footsteps behind me , another noob or spawn Dude dont go that way they are killing ppeople. He doesnt hear me or whatever. They make him lie down then axe him too. Shit now im getting angry. Really? Killing defenseless spawns. I'll fix them! I sprint past them making sure im not seen. First place I go firestation, I'll get an axe and sneak up on them. Again fate didnt see it that way.... I find a wrench...this will have to do...all I'm thinking is revenge for my fallen freshies. Just as I leavve the firestation shots ring out. Dont shoot I scream but it doesnt stop. He misses all 6 shots I charge. Thwapp I get a clean hit yes! Hes still trying to reload then runs around a corner. I give chase..bad idea...just as I clear the corner hes pulling his rifle...thwap I smack him...then blam...dark screen...shit. im dead. This game is tough..but I'm hooked. It maybe hard but im staying on the side of good..I wont resort to KOS...the human element makes this game super fun sorry so long but had to share. be safe. Stixx

I'd like to find a non KOS group/clan that plays together. Finding one for Alaska time zones is a pain. Thanks for the nice comments guys/girls
