What has been your biggest "I'm done" moment?
Trivi replied to aquamonkey's topic in General Discussion
2-3 weeks ago. Friday night, I had some friends over, we had some beers and around 3:00 - 3:30 o'clock we started talking about dayz and that none of us have ever found or driven the V3S. So I sat on my pc , my friends sat around me, with the intention to find that truck and drive it for a while. We looked on the internetz where it spawned, so we started looking. Ran around for like an hour and what seemed to us like ages without finding anything. So we decided lets serverhop. I logged out near the sheds in Stary. Hopped servers for like another hour again no luck. Time was around 5, 5 something in the morning, we were all getting sleepy and bored so I said "This is it. Last server hop if we can't find it - fuck it ". I joined a server 3 ppl with me on it. Stary was again empty ,but I could not give up so easily, so I decided to run to Kabanino, since it was the next closest possible spawn. I arrive at Kabanino and lol and behold the V3S was there. Sitting pretty in the middle of the agricultural compound. Me and my friends were like " HELLL YEAAHHH, THANK YOU GOD, FINALLY". I immediately run to the truck , hands shaking from sleepiness, beer, excitement. Fumbled a little bit, cause I wanted to get in immediately but kept opening the hood or door and then.. ratatatatatata "You are dead". -
How to get up on top of the giant factory in Novo and Cherno?
Trivi replied to Reqlum's topic in General Discussion
Look at the ladder , scroll with mouse wheel and select "Go up the ladder". I can't believe you guys don't know this :) -
I don't understand how can anyone "value" his life in a game, where you can die from just going down the stairs. In my experience surrendering makes it easier for you to get killed -> static target. Only once was I held up and the guy didnt kill me , all the other times resulted in the death screen even before getting my hands up , so yeah , excuse me if I don't play according to the codex of the bandit.

Yes you are a bad person and you deserve to be in jail!
-
I am gonna share a positive one - spawned in Tulga , ran to Kamishovo and found a mosin in the police station and ... an LRS in the red building with the water well near the road ... DayZ oh you :)

I think you are right. On low pop servers these sounds are almost non-existent or only the chain fence and the twigs can be heard , but as soon as I join a high pop - *soda pop* , *ammo split*, *gulp*, *zombie aggro*
-
Oooh that explains why there was a guy camping the TEC building in Factory yesterday. The only thing I could not understand is - why was he camping on 8-10 pop server?? Oh well I hope my damaged can opener and road flare helped him somehow ...

Zombie damage is beyond logic. I've had 2 zombies bashing my head like a punch bag, while crouched and completely naked for 2 minutes before I died. I've also had a zombie do the tiger jump attack and ruin my pristine pants with everything inside in just one shot.

Do you think having PvE dedicated servers eliminate the frown on "bad" players?
Trivi replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
They will probably get bored after X amount of time ( depends on the person ) , since you only need an axe and zombies become minor annoyances along the road.. -
One other person on the server and he killed me
Trivi replied to tigersrule777's topic in General Discussion
Me and a buddy , when we had like around 10 hours in the game , logged on a night server to try it out for the 1st time. It was dark but not pitch black. We didn't know then about the gamma and brightness thing. It was only us and one other guy on the server. As we trekked along the road from cherno to electro , we decided to make a stop on one of the water wells between the 2 cities. As soon as we start drinking water - ratatatata - we got wasted.. So yeah - shit happens :( -
Check if someone from the groups you joined in steam plays DayZ. Pretty sure that they will show up in the Friends column on the server browser. I think that's how he was able to track you. I have a steam friend that invited me in a DayZ group and once I fired up DayZ only to discover there is a server with 7-8 "friends".All of them were unknown to me though.

It's been discussed before. Yes directional sound is kinda broken. I've been in houses hearing gunshots that sound like somebody is shooting just in front of the house - yet they were a good 100 meters away. Or I hear gunshots facing one way, my buddy facing the opposite direction doesn't hear squat. So yeah the problem is in the sound engine.

Need some extra help? Backup from bandits? Security services for Hire! Post Here!
Trivi replied to Ulysses404's topic in General Discussion
Dude lighten up maybe, of course is arrogance .. are you that thick headed ? "Military tactics , mercenary , for hire , protection bla bla bla" you're not Rambo or the terminator, you're just a 20 yo kid that plays video games.. Instead of making this pretentious post you could just have written - I don't know - "Hey guys I'm looking for players to play dayz with, I know the basics .. etc." - you know , like a normal person would do. But expecting ppl to "donate" for your "services" when there are easier and FREE ways to gear up , well if that is not arrogance I don't know what is ... -
Technically it's not a cheat, it's just a loophole resulting from the 30 sec timer fix to prevent combat logging.

They do work, but not on ruined clothing. I've used them to patch pants, beanies and jackets and they up the condition to Worn from damage/badly damaged. As far as I tried they don't work on camo vest , cowboy hats and backpacks.
